R32 Gtr Legal Exhaust System (93Db)
Cherry Racer replied to Sinista32's topic in General Maintenance
Have a look at the Fujitsubo systems. The one with a large centre and rear muffler is meant to be similar to stock. I went with the smaller centre muffler and large rear which is reasonably soft but doubt it is 100% legal. Their systems are absolutely beautifully made. http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/000000000000001189/00000000000000002633/00000520 -
Gotcha, i was a lil worried for a while then. Cheap/lightweight fun? Hell yeah. Amazing how tuneable the late model V8s are for something without forced induction.

Prospective Gtr Owner Questions
Cherry Racer replied to vman69's topic in VR Series - R35 GTR, Juke-R
Have a good look at what is on carsales atm. I searched cars with under 10,000kms and there are a lot. As mentioned above if its been looked after and serviced, you shouldn't have too many issues. Later models will still have factory warranty too. -
SS, lightweight? Doesn't sound right to me....

The thing i hate about express is their article sharing. When I got HPI, Zoom and Fast 4s I would sometimes get the same one 3 times. Not acceptable. Im down to HPI and Fast 4s, I'll wait till Fast 4s runs out then just keep HPI. Got a lot of time for Jason the editor. Zoom has absolutely died in the arse from where it started. -
Chef, has the price of nice late model R32 GTRs gone up recently? I've seen a few around the 2M mark and then the black one yesterday (4.5B) for 2.4M with 35K on it. That doesn't seem far off V Spec money 3-6 months ago.

Love your style You gotta have plates waiting for it. I ordered some for my bike when it was still in japan, had to ask the RTA to hold onto them as it took so long to ship. All part of the fun.......

Terry, how long has/is your new toy taking? From what I hear dotars is a pretty small department so if they are behind, its everyone's tough luck.
-
Tough situation. They have your car and are in control but its pretty reasonable to want to know what's going on and be kept up to date. If you used a broker you could see if they can contact the workshop as they'll want future business from them.
-
1-2 months ago I had similar delay. There was a prob with the paperwork which contributed to the delay.
-
Yes. If done properly by taking your time, using a good broker and understanding what's involved in the process. Plenty of the Aussie websites have good guides to the process.

If You're Happy With Your Import Car, Who Brought It In?

Hopefully you'll be driving the rare weapon and not Iron Chefs nuts soon! -
Don't shop on price alone, especially an R35. Quality costs and will often cost you less in the long run than having to redo things. Seriously, go for what gets proven results and is well engineered. Rant over

Just because we'd give body parts doesn't mean everyone would. I don't know the guy from a bar of soap but it would appear he didn't have the passion for the car that many of us would/do. Pity it didn't stay in Oz -
Check out the R34 Nur they sold. I think it had around 1700 kms!

Removing the turbos should be ok as long as you can get a polarizer. They were used on some Brock commodores in the 80's.
-
I was about to say the same thing. Got a bike 7 months ago when it was at 80. 95 is pretty damn good.
-
Have a chat to J Spec or Iron Chef about how much the cars go for, starting price is irrelevant. Generally speaking from when the car is bought to when you can pick it up complied is around 3 months, give or take.

Try Todd and Adam at Japlink/JLM, Rydalemere. -
Chef, is that the case with with tidy ones too? What would go for more, a low km R32 GTR or a similar condition R33?
