So they're noisy, but do they grip? I thought they must be ok if ford is putting them on new cars.

If anyone is interested in getting some very cheap second hand street tyres (235/45/17) after ripping theirs up on the weekend let me know via PM, not here. I can get get some very good (80-90%) dunlop SP3000's for $60 each for SAU Vic people.

Yeah what was the verdict with the full slicks? Help or hinderence? Did they get warm enough to grip?

Go Gareth! Actually flying the flag for the skylines!!!
  8. Hey man the spool was in the car when I bought it from Japan and I just had to replace the diff that surrounded it, centre was fine. I think they are generally cheaper than power lock LSD's like 1.5 and 2 ways but there are down sides. Mostly understeer induced by the diff wanting to go straight ahead. It's damn strong though. I think I would prefer to have a 2 way but this is what I got and it works for what I need it to do. I'm not sure if there are different brands or different types for lsd's or vlsd's but I reckon they are all about the same. It just locks both axles together. Nothing fancy about that!

Thanks everyone who was involved organising and running the event! I had a blast as usual.
  10. I like my licence too much...
  11. I'm in for hume in the morning. see ya there bass
  12. Just putting it in the car or setting it up? Total traction drivelines in Moorabin helped me out setting up mine. They'll tell you all you need to know about diffs. Very helpfull. Not sure of contact number...google Sam may be able to run it in on the dyno?
  13. You're about 2 weeks to late. I just sold a pair. Look in the for sale section. They come up quite often but maybe not as soon as you need it. If all else fails. Milk crate! No please don't...
  14. Why's that? did you stuff it up?
  15. Hey mate. Do you have the centre caps for them?
  16. Good stuff. So what do you get in conversion? Just the 5 stud hubs? Wow. $200 for postage is pretty extreme even with the weight! I've heard people posting 4 rims for $100! I'm having a bit of trouble with mine now with heat spots after a fang through the tawonga gap near wodonga. The only thing I can think is the problem is if the spacers on my front wheels (about 3mm) aren't perfectly flat and it is causing the heat spots and consequently vibrations. or maybe it's just brake pad compound, I went for some endless pads. Pretty annoying...
  17. I'm pretty sure that minimum thickness is 28mm so I won't be selling the rotors. PRICE DROP $250 for calipers
  18. Do you know how much it will cost?
  19. Yeah some of them were reasonably quick and you only look a bit like the avatar! haha Thanks for a great day. I will be back. Femmo. I didn't realise that was you. I was the black 32 with SAU sticker right near scrut entry.
  20. I had a great time today and was surprised that not many of you guys made it. It was only me, Tom G and R31 Gags plus my mate with his soarer. I had a great day and was surprised by how well my car went but the tyres sure had a hard time. So you're all weak considering I had a busted hand and still gave it a go. (The pain dissapeared as I drove) I have some pics... me and my mates soarer This Boswell Nagari was awesome... Tom G having a go! R31 Gags (Craig) and this XR5 was pretty quick! Lot's of bogans in cars like these... At some stages it was kinda busy... And me I had a ball and want to do heaps more track stuff in the future.
