  1. wrong plugs won't damage the coils. Not sure in resistance, it also doesn't seem to be a good way of diagnosing coils anyway as heat makes a big difference. clean the boots and apply silicon grease and see if that helps. I think it's the loom though, they get heaps crusty due to the heat.
  2. Could be a coil pack, more likely coil pack loom if problem only surfaced after you messed with it. Unless you put some gumby plugs in there
  3. The deck height changes the position of the cams and therefore cas. When you lift or lower the head, the cams have to rotate to maintain the same belt length on the drive side (imagine doing that with the tensioner loose, it makes more sense.) I seriously doubt an rb30 block works out perfectly the right extra deck height to work wit the belt. it is very close, but slightly different so will need adjustment. disconnect tps on a neo to put it ibto base timing mode, not sure pre neo. Dont know why the loop sucks, but it does. a normal plug lead will work between the coil and will be accurate.
  4. How are you using the light? if you use the wire loop it results in an inaccurate reading. You should disconnect a coil and put a lead on it to the plug, then clip the light on there. Also, due to differences in the deck height etc the cas position won't be the same as the 25 position, meaning the cams would also be out slightly.
  5. I think therye might be a difference due to awd.
  6. nice!
  7. Or the boost control lines aren't installed correctly, I wouldn't think your boost controller or wastegate would die while engine gets rebuilt. Ask mechanic? Did they not check it at all?
  8. All jacks in Australia have to meet the standard. You won't lift the entire car up with a Jack so it doesn't need to be rated to the weight of the car, but a bigger/higher rating will lift the car easier and usually higher. You MUST use axle stands. Don't ever get under a car supported only by a jack. But can't you just lay on the ground and undo the sump plug with the car on the ground? I can.
  9. The comment about unnecessary spend is based on the stock manifolds being capable of flowing enough for your power goal.
  10. Wondering why it has started leaking now is like wondering why the sky blue, no one knows!
  11. obvious advice is obvious.
  12. so get the bits you are missing and put them on!
  13. Not happy with the chart is even more reason to get the printout. Can you get him to email it to you?
  14. Look at it. remove it.
  15. The gasket has no impact on the tps.
  16. The neo engine has a different vct setup that uses an oring behind a bolt to seal, which is what I was thinking of. Pre neo is different as 89cal pointed out 2and the image I posted shows that. You are missing the cover and the seal.
  17. I know what you mean, and can adjust the aquamist to be an on/off style system if required. Time will tell when I finally get out on the car how it is best setup.
  18. previous page mentioned next Monday is dyno day.

  20. But you have to take the pulleys off to get the dust cover off!
  21. True, I was thinking if the neo vct which has a plug that seals it off, pre neo uses the plate.
