  1. ok its going to be dynoed tomorrow, just an afterthought though, what do ya recon of plugging in a set of gtr injectors and running it with the standard ecu/tune? should make it run richer if its got leaning out problems, atleast until i get the cash together next pay to retune the ecu... just a thought, what ya recon? :microwave
  2. hey guys, just got my r31 GTS-X complied and registered, it has a bored and stroked rb20 and atm standard ecu, manifolds and turbo. (it came with a hks fcon, custom plenum, gtr injectors, trust manifold and gate etc etc). i was going to drive the car awhile with all the standard gear, but i was abit worried whether it'll lean out, then had a think about it and im thinking the motor will suck more air for the increased capacity therefor wont the afm adjust the mixtures to suit anyway? car drives awsomely, loads of low down torque and with the tiny standard turbo, boost just snaps on instantly. only thing that is giving me trouble is the AFM, really intermitant fault, seems to die every now and then and subsequently the ecu tries to shut off the motor (only reason i think its the afm is that the ecu diagnostic tells me code 12). sound right for an AFM fault?

Hey Guys, I've imported an r31 gts-x with an rb24det, gtr plenum, gtr injectors, kkk k27 turbo, hks fcon v and trust manifold and gate. i've had to return it to stock to get it registered and have used all r32 rb20det gear (manifolds, turbo, loom, and ecu). it runs fine and doesnt seem to be pinging (havent had it on a dyno or anything though) but i'm abit worried it'll lean out though, what do you guys think? will the AFM read the extra air and add more fuel? also i'd like the wire the hks fcon into the r32 ecu instead of chucking the old loom and ecu back in, anyone know where i can get the hks ecu diagrams? Hey guys, I've just bought an r31 2 door over from japan and had to pull the hks ecu, greddy plenum, trust manifold and k27 turbo off it to get it through compliance and rego. i've used all r32 eccs standard parts to bring it back to stock but have run into problems getting the thing to start! basically it cranks fine but wont even splutter or fire. the only thing i've not used from an r32 is the coilpacks, coil loom and ignitor pack and knock sensors, all other sensors have been used from the r32 eccs rb20det. i changed the plugs on the r32 loom to fit the r31 eccs ignitor pack and coil 12v and earth supply. the knock sensors plugged straight into the r32 loom. what sensors will stop the motor firing? i've changed the CAS and that didnt help. heres what i've got: pins 101 103 105 110 112 114 16 58 all have 12v constant pins 107 108 116 4 10 20 26 30 44 50 60 are all earthed pins 109 45 49 59 all have ign 12v (49 and 59 both only have 7.3v though) pins 23 24 have 2.8v on ign pins 54 57 have 5.9 on ign i'm getting pulse from the CAS to me that all seems fine, so wtf isnt it working? any help would be greatly appreciated! Hey guys, i'm in the process of pulling out the hks fcon v and loom from my r31 gts-x and chucking in the r32 loom and ecu and i need the pinouts and engine wiring diagrams for both so i can match the r32 engine loom to the r31 body loom. does anyone have a website with them on or can anyone email me the diagrams? i'm using both r32 manifolds, turbo, afm and throttle so all sensors are from the r32 except the knock sensors in the block, i take it the r31 knock sensors will work the same as the r32 ones?
  8. yea mabye ur right, but i really hate laggy turbos :headspin: but i'm definately going to change ecu, unless the HKS one runs awsome once i've put it all back on (i'll have to remove it all for a week or two for the rego inspection, so hopefully it doesnt loose its maps?) what about getting another manifold and a second hand t28 gt-rs? probably budget 2.5k for a turbo swap as i'll sell the k27, manifold and gate. so a new hks turbo is totally out of the question!

I'll be getting my car within the next few weeks. its got an rb24det with hks ecu, kkk k27 turbo, trust gate and manifold, rb26 style plenum, injectors, etc etc. i have been thinking the k27 turbo will be too big, anyone had experiance with one of these on an rb20/25? anyways i was thinking i'd down grade it and chuck on something abit more responsive. what sort of turbo choice would i be looking at if i still wanted to make approx. 240-250rwkw? can a 2530 make this sort of power? what about a 2835? t517z? etc.

  11. yea that was the car price and FOB, i've still got to pay approx $3500 for shipping, tax, import duty and mods needed for compliance.
  12. very cool thread, has got me fired up waiting for my car to arrive! i bought an r31 gts-x with the 2.4 tomei kit fitted (rb26 crank and rods) and KKK K27 turbo, has all the support mods like aftermarket intake, GTR injectors, trust high mount manifold and wastegate, oil cooler, hks ecu, fmic etc etc. thats about all the mods i know of, as soon as it gets here i'll be throwing it on the dyno to see what it makes and how responsive it is but thats about a month away. was actually thinking i'd remove 6 of the 12 injectors and chuck a wolf plugin or remapped stocky on when it gets here as the hks ecu will be tough to find tuners for and i'm pretty sure i'll be able to run it fine without the 6 extra injectors. if like you guys say it costs over 6000 to do the build properly then seems i got a bargain (payed $5000 for the whole car)

LOL ok my fault i didnt read his full post, thought you were just badmouthing the fact it wasnt turbo. didn't see that he qouted that first. :headspin: crank and loom are the same and only need to change compression if you wanna run more than 12psi. ...exhaust flange is part of the manifold... oh and ive never met him so dont insinuate that i'm sticking up for him cause i know him. --end of hijack--
  14. actually it is... rb30et (vlturbo) fair enough you need the ECU too but same with the later skylines very nice 31 dude, low as shit and awsome paint. should get that price easy, especially with the gts2 wheels mabye try chuck it on r31skylineclub.com
  15. yep its from adelaide.. always see it parked on hindley st. very quick and awsome looks. he probably put 50k on to get people interested, if the bidding fires up it'll go up rather quickly methinks.
  16. ok just had a read through the wolf website, sounds good, noticed theres only 4 ignition outputs on the v4 (unless you get the plus). can you get a plugin v4 plus for the rb20det? what cost am i looking at to get one with the hand controller?
  17. i've been trying to decide which ecu to go with too, problem is everyone states how much HP they make with the ecu but cant get much info on daily-drivability, fuel consumption (closed loop?), engine protection, etc etc. i want to try and maintain the stock ecu's drivability, is this possible?
  18. been trying to track down some coilovers for my gts-x for ages but cant seem to find any importer interested in getting me some over, so anyone got any or know of somewhere i can get some second handies? budgeted about 1500 for a set so bilstiens are out of the question. Cheers Karlos
