  1. Well i'll be running an rb25 pfc in my rb24det using the rb20 loom and sensors in the next week, from what i can see of the wiring diagrams carl h is correct. should just bump and run.
  2. what you suggest by the gt30 turbine up the guts of the 2871r is basically creating a gt3071 52t right? i'm not worried about retaining the standard looking covers, all piping and manifold will be redone so no need to. was hoping i could get the 4" inlet and 2" outlet compressor cover in 52 trim but not too sure whether its available. i'll be using the gt28 53mm rear wheel and a bored out rb25det turbine housing, i thought about the 3071r but wouldnt the small .63 ar rear choke the top end? plus theres the whole saving $500 on buying a new garrett turbine housing...
  3. wakey wakey thread. am i right in assuming the port shrouding allows air to bypass the inducer and go straight to the meat of the compressor wheel? or am i totally wrong, heres a pic of the front cover of the gt-rs made for the rb20/25 (taken from http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/turbo/...s/ac_gtrs.html) Well i've decided on going with a gt2871r 52t with a machined out rb25 exhaust housing, retain t3 flange and end up with ar of somewhere between the .64 and .73. probably be another week or two before i can fit and tune it though. should be nicely responsive with a hks low mount manifold and the extra 400cc on a rb20det.
  4. Hey guys, trying to track down an RB25DET turbo exhaust housing so if anyones got one thats thrown a wheel or just generally busted PM or email me on [email protected] Preferably in adelaide. Cheers Karl
  5. i'd say youve got a exhaust leak either on the manifold to head gasket or turbo to manifold, recheck all the bolt tensions.
  6. So how is the base duty worked out? not a whole lot about it in the fc manual. and i take it when using another boost controller Ie HKS EBC you just select said boost on the FC then set it on your boost controller right?
  7. sure i'll give it a shot. version 2.8. just remind me whether you need it connected to the car or not? cant power it up as its no longer in the car. Cheers Karl
  8. You need to remove the plastic cover off the front, its behind that. Cheers Karl
  9. Hey guys, looking for some GTR injectors, 33-34 ones. preferably with the ballast resistor and loom but not nessicary. PM me if you have what i need Cheers Karl
  10. price revised. got qouted $80 to get a t3 flange welded to this by ASE. come on you know you want it!
  11. links are all dead whiplash. also caught some footage of a mini going off into the crowd while i was at the pub, anyone know what happened? looked bad!
  12. Bump. price is negotiable to a reasonable extent. also looking for a HKS 2835R or GT3071r. pm me if you know someone.
  13. Hey guys, time to downgrade my turbo so the manifold and gate are up for sale. Has been modified to suit all RB's and has a T4 flange. Has just had a small crack repaired by Auto Sport Engineering and the flange is being machined ATM so should be like new. Wastegate is a 40mm Trust gate with 12psi spring. looking for $1300 for both. Located in adelaide. pics:
  14. wouldnt happen to have a dyno sheet you can post up drift? would be good to see just how your top end fairs with the .64 rear?
  15. Spoke to Bill Keen at ATS here in adelaide today and he suggested getting the 2871r for response and 3071r for more top end but make sure you go with a .86 rear as he thought the .64 would be way too small! however everyone seems to swear by them with the gt30's.. he also didnt seem too worried about using an adapter plate for the 2871r either... so many different oppinions, its making my head spin!
  16. looking at the specs on the hks 2835R's they look pretty much identical to the GT3071R anyway. does this mean i can use a gt30 .64 T3 housing on a hks 2835r? basically running on a budget here so if i can get a cheap 2835r with the right housing it would get me out of trouble. also you suggested using the 2871r with a gt30 56.5mm turbine, wouldnt that mean i'm still stuck with the t28 flanged housings or can a gt30 turbine housing then be adapted?
  17. hey disco, thanks for the reply. i'm not looking for the sort of power the gt30 guys are making though, and was thinking with the extra capacity i wont need to run a huge turbo to make the power i'm after. i've seen the rb25 guys making good results with the gt-rs so perhaps the 2871R 52T is the way to go. what AR rear would you recommend, garrett's site says theres only a .64 or .86 available for the 2871r?
  18. Yep me wanty a rb25det PFC with hand controller too... any chance of getting more? Karl
  19. sounds like you've got it in one. but i've decided on the rb25det PFC, and gtr injectors with the resister pack and run a z32 AFM. problem solvered.
  20. GT30 is too big for my liking, want full boost around the 4k mark. the HKS 2835R actually sounds quite promising with the .73 ar rear would be perfect. probably really hard to find though, wonder if the garrett gt30 rear housings would fit? .63 external gated would be the next best thing. as for the gt2871r had a look at the garrett site and looks like theres a couple to choose from, the GT2871R - 472560 - 15 sounds like the best but i cant find if there is any t3 flanged rears for them? the low mount i'm looking at only comes in t3 or t4 flange.
