Many thanks for the feedback. This turbo use to be on a RB26 running single turbo. Need to check with the lines & everything required to install. Hope to get some pics. Heard it's good to run at 1bar to 1.2bar of boost. Wondering whether my ECU will interfere in boost cut since the NEO engine.

Well written..i guess it the knowledge of knowing whether your car is running safe and giving you the HP you need. I too don't believe in number...just want my ride to be reliable with many years of joyride left in it. Cheers!

Hi Guys I was offered this TO4E turbo (Old school garret, guess it's AR 50 - small type) inclusive with HKS manifold and external wastegate (Small). So far my setup is 33GTR HKS Drager exhaust, Blitz 3" downpipe, HKS Type S intercooler. I heard this is a bolt-on without modifiying anything. Since this is from a fren, he's selling me cheap. Anyone reckon this is suitable for 34GTT? What boost do you think is safe for this type of turbo on the NEO engines. Still runing on standard ECU. Appreciate feedbacks...Cheers!

Mine had the helper springs. Iam trying to get the balance feel for the rear which is either too bouncy (soft) or firm. The front feels compose & compliant on most surface when set no.2 setting. I'm curious, let just say front has 4 setting & rear 8 setting, if i set front no.2 does the rear has to be no.4 to balance it up?

Hi Stan I like you website, very informative and nice gallery...yeah front lip looks familiar. Anyway i just like the badge since i had them awhile ago, best place to stick it is on the car. However I plan to get the real thing next year if the price is right...finger's crossed. If not then i'll probably go for the RB26 engine conversion still on FR. As for the front grille, the black (sprayed) makes the front more menacing..compare to the white finishing. Anyway most of my mates here done the same thing so maybe it's more like our group signature when it comes to white GTT's. Btw ur rims is awesome too....Cheers!

I loved ur set of rims...do u mind telling me what offset for front & rear? 9J all round & waht size tire are u using? Awesome looks mate!! Btw this is mine... Plus my other wld buddies ride... Still Prefer the original until can find a 34GTR which looks the best... My simple ride for now....

I notice that the front is high too (vizually) but the front coilover doesn't have any pillow springs. Do you think the ride will be more harder/softer or there is no effect at all other than for looks? I understand that the chamber will change to be more negative though. So far seeing all the japanese magazine & all Hyperev GTT magazine, they all seem to set the front quite low almost a 1 or 2 finger gap. Anything to do with our FR effect to compare to a GTR (AWD)?
-
Thanks Nismo for the feedback. My current chamber for front is 1.6 FL & 1.9 FR and Rear for both is 2.5. Just wondering why is the rear set lower? Would the handling be neutral, understeer or oversteer? Presume my tire pressure is set at 36 PSI all round. The current setting for the shock front is 3 (4 is max) and rear is 6 (Max is 8). Im trying to set the car to neutral. Appreciate your great assistance & advice.

Yes the spring rates is 9kg (F) and 8kg ® which is quite hard so the adjusting height/firmness is the only way for me now. I try using the same ride height and adjust the tire presure higher 36PSI all round and lower the setting to 1 for front and 3 for Rear. Less bounce and the car handling felt better. Btw im using Toyo T1R tires which has soft sidewalls, so pumping up the pressure make the turn in sharper. One last question, would the ride height of the coilover when i raise it will stiffen it up (coil spring get more compress)? Appreciate everyone's feedback.

I just installed on my ride and playing with the setting. The R-Tunes has 4 setting (front) and 8 settings (rear) with a height adjustment of +-20mm. My problem is that i find the rear is quite firm (set at 4) but gets bouncy when on freeway. If i set it less than 4 the bouncy effect will get worse (sometimes u get double or triple bounce) plus the bouncing effect is fast & short which really shake my kidney to bits. The front was set at no.1 but now i like it when it's no.2 setting where the turn in is very sharp and ride compliance has a nice firmness to it. My question is how can i get the non of the bouncy effect of the front & match it for the rear? Does the ride height has anything to do with the compliance of the bouncy effect. Since this is a full coilover suspension, should i increase the height of the rear (so the spring will be more firm) then set it slightly softer setting like 2 or 3? I was advice to increase the setting to 5 or 6 which help reduce the bouncy effect but the ride now is quite hard for everyday driving. Appreciate anyones help who know coilover for the R-Tunes.

A close mate of mine has a complete set To4E turbo with manifold & external wastegate from his previous RB26 (R32 engine). Do you think it would be a plug & play for the original NEO GTT engine? So far my mod is the following:- Pod filter HKS Type S Front Mount intercooler Blitz Downpipe HKS Super Drager Exhaust (33 GTR spec) Trust Oil Cooler Standard ECU Standard Fuel Pump Standard Injectors Since i don't need to pay for this atm, you reckon it's a good upgrade based on my current setup?
-
Thank SikII I thought about it like you did..should have been the middle. Im running my 34GTT on 34GTR rims. Do you think it has anything to do with the offset? I like it when the pressure is on 36PSI, more stiffer sidewall but suffer a little on ride. If im not mistaken, my last alignment the front chambers were around 1.7 degree negative. Is that too much? Hope to pump up the pressure tomoro, you reckon it's possible to 38PSI? I know the limit is much higher but kinda worried about the tire wear. Should i start to rotate the front tire left to right since they are on 235/40/18 atm.
-
Im using T1R all round, the front been used almost 14 months and the rear around 2 months only. Just check the tirewear today an found that the inner side for the front is almost half gone maybe due to the negative chamber. Still running on standard shocks & springs. DO you think it has anything to do with the 36 PSI I have been running for the past 1 month. So far i can say from my experience is that they are great in the dry & wet, but most importantly i like them for the quietness. Almost silent on highway cruise. My next purchase should the tirewear for the front get any worse would be the AD07 or RS2. Wish to experience the grip everyone been mentioning about.

Nismo Bilstein R34gtt Suspension Questions
driftmeister replied to Howie's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Howie & Sydneykid I am looking for the exact shocks for my GTT for quite sometime already but i don't have the part number for it. Any chance of checking them for me cause my local distributor is kinda lame & don't cater much to Skylines. Heard that with matching Eibach springs the car will handle better with the Bilstein combo shocks. Many thanks in advance mates... -
Will R34 Gtr Rims Fit An R34 Gtt?
driftmeister replied to Howie's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Best thing about it is that the rims are really light and FORGED. Heard someone did mentioned that it was manufactured by BBS. Anyone can confirm this? -
Thanks Siks & Ronin I took the car for a drive on some sweeping canyon uphill & downhill on the weekend with 32PSI all round, the tyre really do slide a little (soft sidewall). Then i felt when down left hander turns, heard some noice & knocking sound probably from my shocks. Maybe its time to change them, not sure how long since i bought the car had original shock on. Will try to pump up the tyre tomoro to whether the ride & handling be better. Should it be pump up equally on all tyres or just the back? Is the car gonna have oversteer just increasing the rear?

Will R34 Gtr Rims Fit An R34 Gtt?
driftmeister replied to Howie's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
The 34GTR rims looks awesome on thi GTT. Best rims i've seen that fits the wheel well with standard shock/springs....See attachment... -
Car handling felt good and the quietness is still there...probably done 2000kms by now. Recently i pump up the pressure from 32psi allround to 34psi front & 32psi rear, the car handles pretty weird on long sweeping corners. The front twitch a little then rear felt like it's gonna give way. No sure whether the car was gonna understeer before i counter it slightly but the experienced gave me quite a shock though. btw im running 235/40/18 front & 245/40/18 rear and still on standard shock/springs. What tyre pressure are u guys running for this sort of setup?

Thats the Doluck Body kit for GTT. It has flared fenders too. Check out the HK Skyline forum, there is one there with the same kit.

Just installed Toyo T1R for my rear 245/40/45 (fronts installed 2 month ago), first think i notice after getting out of the shop is the quietness in the cabin & road noise. Once i hit the highways, the ride was really smooth and quiet, the only audible noise is coming from my open pod air filter. The slight increase of sidewall thickness is more comfortable on bumpy surface. Haven't tried on wet yet, gotta run it in a little more. Keep everyone posted.

Hi Jmac Interesting read on the tyre size for FR car like ours. I think i want to save the money & go for 245/40/18 for the rear since the price diffirence is RM$200 each for the 265/35/18. I wish to get back the balance handling of the right first. My mind always tells me to push it during corners since i have more confidence in wider tyres. hehehe
