That should really be quite nasty, very interested to hear how it goes.

Power Enterprise PE1420 which is nicely suited to the unopened SR20DET. On 1bar we were seeing 80-120kph in 2.2s in 3rd, or 3.2s in 4th.... 1bar by 2900rpm in 4th gear.

That's probably a good reason why I never got sick of it, thinking of it - I always had music playing when I was lurking around, the main times I heard the turbo was when I decided I wanted to.... or the occasionally particularly big hill or other "high load" moment Yep. Rego on hold, have an RB30 block in the garage and almost acquired an RD28 block just for shxts and giggles. Just watching, pondering, and otherwise helping others make their cars faster.... you'd totally approve of the S14 I have been tuning lately, I think if you drove it you'd juice yourself.

Really?? Wow! I found it hilarious amusement on long trips especially

I don't know anyone who has got sick of antisurge whistle

Nice power, can't see any sign of lag - it is twin scroll too? That should be insane fun

6766 Cea Billet Turbo On A Rb26
Lithium replied to Gtir-keiron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mustang dynos don't seem to read quite as low as Dyno Dynamics dynos with "typical" setups, assuming you don't count the way the Brits tend to set up DD dynos (to estimate Flywheel). Will be interesting to see the DD vs Mustang comparison -

Don't know of anyone in NZ or Oz using a Mustang, but the general consensus seems to be they read nearly as low as a Dyno Dynamics -

Lithium replied to Gtir-keiron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
In NZ we have Dyno Dynamics, Dynojets, and mainly Dynapacks - I have considered doing comparisons between those 3 though the results I have seen from the bunch seem to have Dynojets reading marginally lower than the Dynapacks and basically add 8%-12% to Dyno Dynamics results to get Dynojet/Dynapack equivalent results. -
^ can't help but doubt that responsive claim

6766 Cea Billet Turbo On A Rb26
Lithium replied to Gtir-keiron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
700+whp on US-93oct sounds like heaps alright, dyno discrepancy aside (assuming 10% lower reading that is still not far short of 500kw) - would love to know more about the car. On the flipside, 650whp on 26-28psi - that doesn't sound that huge if talking about a fairly serious setup (using a PT6766 to its potential is pretty serious by my reckoning). What kind of setups are you talking there? A mate of mine's stock stroke RB26 makes 865hp @ 4hubs on 22psi running on E85, which by my reckoning should equate to at least 770awhp/575kw on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. -

Wow, that is good power for pump gas - but that also looks really quite laggy on a 2.8litre! -
What is the setup? Sounds strong

He says in another thread that it was on E85

Whos Interested In The Gt3076r/gt3037 In 52 Trim ?
Lithium replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
They had a GTR as a flagship.... any thoughts why they didn't release that with a similar spec turbo to the R34 Neo RB25? Actually, don't bother answering- I am bored with this discussion and not interested in what comes back, you have been trolling GT30R threads for years and like writing big posts with your own theories more than considering others opinions and experience. I like these forums for learning (and helping others) and will freely admit I have learnt things from you (a long time ago) but here I feel like I'm throwing my voice at a vacuum. Have nothing to prove here. I drove my car with a GT3076R for 5 years never getting a ticket, never had a problem with lag, never had a warped manifold, made awesome noises everywhere, and undone a bunch of misconception a few people had readily absorbed from your on forum anti-GT30 propaganda once they actually experienced what a GT30R *ACTUALLY* drives like in person. From my point of view the only thing that gives your licence comment warrant is that the major real world difference between the GT3076R and GT-RS is the GT-RS can give "Oooo" acceleration while the GT3076R is more capable of "F&*K yeah!" acceleration, so a pretty silly comparison to be fair. -

I wonder if that's the problem, people only tuning properly for full boost - if you have a turbo that is full boost earlier/easier and both are tuned poorly everywhere but full boost then the difference between a GT-RS and a GT3076R would become quite large. I am assuming competent tuning when I comment on these things. -

Maybe its time to move to Oz But a GT-RS is still too small haha -

On the street strictly speaking with this kind of power you should NEVER be at WOT, so if being sensible is your primary concern stock is more than enough. Some people use their cars on the track -

With a good tune and sensible driving fuel economy should be comparable between the two, with the GT3076R will be capable of using more fuel if the drive opts to use the extra power it has - no magic there, more power is a result of more air and fuel, it'd be a good street car, but I'd not personally run it on 17psi for anything more than power runs or quick pulls. -

The higher the boost, the fatter the torque spread - but 1bar sounds like a sensible place to stop with a GT2871R. When tuning cars which have equivalent setups to yours I have done things like spike peak boost at low rpm (ie, 3500rpm) up to around 17-18psi and then bleed them back to 1bar at high rpm, the power deliver can be significantly improved without maxing out the turbo. Agreed, and I have stated before that I think you are probably one of those cases where a GT-RS would suit. Thats because you are trying to use the RB25 for something which isn't it's strength, so you're wasting most of its rpm range and potential - though there is obviously nothing wrong with that if you like driving it that way and you're getting what you want from it, and its not going to be spending time in the area that the GT2871R will choke it. And you are right, 80k+4th/100k+5th you don't get the most pull from a GT30R (though its not exactly the least either, I always used 4th from 80k and if I shifted to 4th for 100k acceleration I was being a ratbag). The thing is this is a GT3076R thread, and not everyone want to use their RB25s like a nice sounding diesel. It will give really good results on E70+, and I look forward to seeing what they are. Sometimes the lack of detonation you get with ethanol (you can still get pre-ignition though, quite easily) can mask a bad match but EGTs etc can still get silly if you spend a bunch of time with the turbo maxed out. This thread isn't about GT45Rs, its about GT3076Rs. I wasn't talking about a GT3076R needing full throttle to make boost (FAR from it - from you saying that its clear you can't have driven one), more the fact that a GT-RS could go to full boost even if you don't want it to. That is more likely to adversely effect fuel consumption than a turbo that does what you want it to. -

You can order a FP GT3073R HTA now, I've been making noise about the potential of these on RBs for a while. No, a GT30R is more progressive/predictable in terms of throttle input - the poorly matched (to an RB25) GT-RS can go for full spool even at partial throttle and still fries the tyres, you're more likely to all or nothing with a GT-RS than with a GT3076R once you reach the boost threshold of either turbo. A GT3076R will allow you to moderate torque more predictably and keep within the tyres ability to transmit torque. if you are at a speed that the full torque can be sent through, the GT3076R setup can whistle happily away and leave the other RB25 setup to choke on its NS111. -
What - why?? PT6766 would be the smallest I'd put on one of those, there is someone running around with an FP GT3794HTA on one and it sounds awesome. They just need to wind up the boost and supporting mods a bit to justify it more. Very nice, on E85 I assume? Why bother with the -5s?

The 6466 TS is going on a 2.8? This should be very very interesting, quite keen to see how this comes out - got potential to be huge fun

Back in around 2006 my flatmate put an EVO3 TD05-16G onto his RB20DET on the stock manifold with an external wastegate plumbed up - made 20psi by around 3800rpm if I remember rightly, was awesome fun to drive though never got a final power figure for it unfortunately.

Nice, the FMW S300SX I had in mind was also the 83mm variant - just to be clear Let us know what you go with, will be good to hear how it goes.
