  1. I think you'll be lucky, only car I know of running one is this one: Gotta say, making >400whp by 6000rpm isn't bad going from a 4cyl going through an AWD auto from a turbo that size
  2. Fair enough. I set reasonably realistic expectations and will call a stick a stick - when the EFRs were looking shxt (failing etc) I called it that, but I also realise you get decreasing gains in this kind of area. Thats why the EFRs are clearly targetted at those who want to be the "top", its not going to be proportionally more awesome... its just going to be the thing that provides the edge. The whole technology hasn't been completely re-invented, they're just trying to use the best realistic features of existing technology to provide something high level to the masses. Well that's the way I see it anyway. The only turbo technology I can see possibly changing the way we look at things substantially in terms of turbo choice if it goes smoothly may be the Garrett Dual Boost stuff.
  3. The amount more power its making is pretty much proportionate to how much more boost its making. There is no magic, what bewilders me is that you have been far more impressed at far less impressive results.
  4. They would have been game changing if there weren't already things fancier than the old GT-series etc already lurking around. Given that the actual response, not boost threshold which is meant to be the impressive things with these things... suggests that when you consider even the threshold looks good - they are potentially a VERY good thing.
  5. I sporadically have issues, yes - and the post you just put up was detail the exact results which GTScoTT was rambling about being not that impressive
  6. Awesome, interested to see how the GTX35 goes - good luck with emmissions testing
  7. Very nice result, got to be happy with that!
  8. OK, two things come to mind here - 1/ Its VERY consistantly reported that EFRs are very very responsive, a boost curve on a dyno plot does not show how a car drives at all - it just gives a general idea of things. We've talked at length about this, the responsiveness of EFR turbos do sometimes get sold short of their real world performance on dyno comparisons because of this fact 2/ On top of the above, you seriously call this a comparison an equivalent boost threshold?? Considering how much you backed things like 52trim GT3076R/GT3071R/GT2835/whatever when comparing with a 56trim GT3076R which in comparison immeasurably less lag - you make no sense.
  9. That makes sense, I don't know how much my mates RB30 would make on pump gas - he decided from the outset to use an eth blend I believe. The turbo wasn't going to make any more than 560kw on E30, though.
  10. I forget, have you - or are you going to try funkyfuel??
  11. Agreed on the 76HTAs, I've mentioned a few times I'd like to see one on an RB25. In regards to the GT37 vs GT35, in the EVO world the general consensus seems to be the GT3586HTA is an overall better match unless you intend on pushing past 40psi - >800whp Dynojet style with a 4G63. Psi for psi they offer similar power, better spool, better transient response etc - so it doesn't seem like the GT35 turbine is really doing it a huge disservice. A mate of mine hit 560rwkw on ~25psi using E30 with a GT3586HTA on an RB, with ridiculously good power delivery -fwiw.
  12. Awesome, look forward to hearing how it goes
  13. Not sure why a GT3076HTA making 600whp on E85 would be knocking these? I am not aware of anyone hitting a wall with these yet and people have pulled 900whp on E85 with them on high boost. A DSM in the states has done 8.4 at around 170mph with one.... pretty serious business!
  14. And a dyno plot- they dialled back the tune/boost curve a bit because they were running into issues with boost control with the internal wastegate, they will go back on the dyno when they think they've got that sorted... but for now, this is how the numbers look:
  15. Not my car, but the guy who owns this car isn't on this forum - but is happy with the results to be shared... and I think it would an interesting setup to throw into this mix. 16. ^ yep, that and its running on a 2litre engine - life needs to make as easy as possible to make that kind of power. Black bnr32, I'd love to see some dyno plots of EVOs making 420+awkw on a Dyno Dynamics dyno running straight 98 using a GT3582R.
  17. Fair enough, I'll keep the thread up to date with anymore info - its in the US and most people don't trust DD anyway so he is going to re-run it on a Dynojet. They sound like they expect it to do >140mph traps.
  18. So, a 2litre EVO in the USA just put down 570awhp/425awkw on pump gas using a FP GT3794HTA (they did the 1.2 correction trick a lot of UK workshops do to estimate Dynojet/BHP type figures to get 684hp) - pretty impressive result all the same! 19. Wow, pooooor form.
  20. Makes sense, and the amount of good results I've seen and experienced from GT3582Rs seem at odds to how compromised DP suggest they are - theory/whatever aside I reckon they work really well for what they are, and there still isn't that much out that offers a better compromise.... especially cost effectively. In regards to pushing the GT3788Rs, do you have any results (graphs/whatever) which you can share, I think the topic has come up before but I don't remember actually seeing anything. I've been fascinated by them for some time, and know you've sung their praises before. Comparison with GT35R/T04Z would be awesome but well aware that its probably an unrealistic ask Someone I know may end up trying a Precision PT6466 on an RB26, that might be an interesting unit that might lurk in that range.
  21. I wouldn't have (don't think I did) ever suggest the 73HTA for yours anyway - I reckon a 68HTA would have been great. I also lean towards TD06-20G vs GT3071R as well. Shame BW aren't doing EFR6758s in T3 though, I reckon one of those on an SR20 would be mental.
  22. Has anyone done a GT3071R on E85?
  23. Very nice! For the SR20? What trubro is going on it? The life span of them don't seem to be a problem since the foundry change, I actually know of a few people using them - a 550whp STI I know has been using a 7670 lately with no issue, an EVO track car over here has also been using an EFR8374 and it has been performing excellently
  24. Someone stuffed something up then, its not a problem with the ECU - you seem to be adding a lot to the thread without adding anything useful, what are you trying to achieve?
