  1. 60+ is definate pinging, thats the only time your engine light will flash. You said you were only seeing next to no pinging which rules that out. The only other thing it could be is reaching the peak of injectors, fuel pump or something else. My guess is Injectors - text book example as you said it was occuring uphill, loaded engine etc.
  2. Where was that price from? PM me if you want. Otherwise keep shopping around. RICOL Automotive built my motor and crated it to me. They've had more than enough experience building RB30DET's by now.

  7. Yes, its possible that it "could" cause a miss. It can cause the ECU to run rich as it thinks the motor still hasn't reached opperating temp and will stay in warm up mode. You will usually also get poor fuel economy with this too. Should be able to use consult to find an error code if theres a sensor out.

  9. The GTR gauges would be alot of work to fit, and probably use the factory sensor anyway so you wouldnt be any better off. Have a look at the Defi din gauge. Looks very similar, some may say nicer than the GTR gauges and will be nice and accurate.
  10. Pretty sure R32's will need some custom engine mounts made up, or perhaps a forward facing plenum to clear the bonnet.
  11. Need a new plug, easy to get through traders on the forum or possibly your workshop. I run an APEXi pod too, swaps over from stock RB25 AFM to the Z32 no problems

  13. Dont get me wrong, I'm fully licenced and have been for 4 years now. But the purpose of law is to preserve peoples rights, not take them away. So I guess I have a bit of a pet hatred for these sorts of things
  14. The media also seem to forget that 6 years ago they increased the P-Plate demographic by two thirds once they brought in an additional two years of green P's. Now they harp on about how P-Platers are responsible for more accidents. Of course they are, because in the past the same age group of people were fully licenced...
  15. And whats the first thing they'll do when the box is removed from the car? Also, any scheme that stops P-Platers speeding is less money in the governments pocket. Realistically They should subsidise driving shcools and make it compulsory for students to do a few hours each week there experiencing a whole range of conditions. Not force them to have some fancy box. Atleast they will be skills they can keep for the rest of their lives. But again not likely to happen, refer to point 2.
  16. Ok Heres the deal. Bezerkly Automotive are willing fabricate custom oil pans to suit RB 20 & 25 in R32 & 33. Rb26 Rear wheel drive only. (Sorry no R34 for now) You will need to supply a sump. For those who have an RB25/30 possibly also RB20?? this should be as simple as visitting a wrecker and sourcing an old RB30 sump for $25-50 as they are basically the same. Heres a quote from BezerkR32: Heres the basic good points: # They allow you to still run a sway bar # They clear an aftermarket front chassis brace # They do not hang down below the front cross member # The Factory Undertray can still be used # -8 or -10 fittings can be supplied on the side of the sump allowing you to run an external drain to sump, temp sensor etc. Cost is $500 + Delivery if needed.   18. The cars you see doing that are probably dyno queens, or the odd car at a drag strip trying to get the last kw out of the motor they can. Not something you'd do on the open road/track.

  20. Same as GT3076R, but ex wheel is 1mm larger. I think HKS have played with a few other things such as comp cover too...

  22. or just buy a temp gauge and screw the sensor into the side of the box. It would probably go better just before the throttle body though as that would be a true indication of what the motor is receiving
