  1. Far out everyone has alot to complain about! I personally dont think the turning circle is that bad at all, try driving a landrover discovery if you want something to complain about! Only thing I can think of is lack of support on the R33 GTST seats when cornering hard. Easy fix, put some GTR ones in
  2. Motul 8100 5W40 for me. Thats all I have ever run the RB30DET on aside from running it in on castrol mineral oil. Interested to know why the Ryco Oil Filters are supposedly no good? I run mine with an oil filter magnet. End up with the same thing as the Drift magnetic filters, but you keep swapping the magnet over. Heres the thread I started on them http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/To...amp;hl=magnetic
  3. Keep us updated! Love these threads
  4. I had this once when running my old setup, it was very annoying as the car would cut out quite violently, a few times it did it I had to crank the car for a few minutes before it would start. Since you have a PFC I'd do an ETC > SENSOR SW CHECK to start with and then follow up with pulling the airflow meter off and cleaning it. In my case I had a dirty air flow meter, but it didnt register as a problem after doing an ECU diagnostic... Regardless the problem didnt come back.
  5. It isnt useless without the controller. You can connect anything with an RCA video input to it... If you want to display engine parameters like the original Epson EJ-1 did but cant find the controller consider a HKS camp just like this guy has done: (I have one still in the box with remote etc PM If interested)
  6. All R33 GTST Power FC's will work regardless of whether they're going in a S1 or S2. As for tuning places Vic has many good options, but I can only speak from experience of dealing with Status Tuning or URAS on this forum. Highly recommend.
  7. Yup pretty much what I was told too.
  8. Looks like im going to have to go through this in a few months before rego comes up. I've been told that you should have an engineers certificate for the engine conversion before updating the rego papers. AFAIK thats about all it takes.
  9. Who said it had to come from overseas? Second hand is an option too...
  10. The RIPS Stealth Bomber is by far my favourite, im not a fan of show and bling so this thing really does it for me: 420kw RB30 ...Nice and understated, almost looks OEM, but better. The bloke shipped it from the UK to NZ to get the work done on it.
  11. They're going for a touch over 2k last time I checked + some fabrication work.
  12. The HKS GTRS has always had good results. The A'PEXi AX53B70 is another one, its basically the equivelant to the GTRS Both are good for the 250 to 260kw range. You could also highflow your standard turbo and expect around 230 - 240kw These will all bolt onto the standard manifold and won't give you lag and then a massive wave of power like the GT35R will on a 25.
  13. I slid mine next to one of the a/c line grommets on the passenger side along with all the power fc boost controller wiring.
  14. Yes, have seen a few comparo's between the Borg Warner S256 / S258 vs the GT3076R's they're looking very promising. Would like to find a distributor locally for these as it isnt cost effective to buy these from the US right now (been gathering prices for these the last few days ). From what I can work out KKK & Schwitzer have now merged and they are producing all their turbo's under the Borg Warner flag. Here is the Borg Warner S256 compressor map:
  15. Kyle, a few questions 1) What is the largest turbo you can run for a low mount RB25/30? im not worried about keeping factory location, only want low mount. 2) I run a 3L bottom end, but the block wasnt ground flat on the exhaust side where it bolts to the head, so my standard manifold fouled (ended up having to grind 5-10mm off the flange) Will your manifolds bolt up without any problems?
  16. I'd look at SSR's
  17. Isnt every turbo oil cooled? Plain bearing doesnt necessarily mean poor response. If you want something different and cheap that won't end in tears how about a Turbonetics GTK series turbo?
  18. I heard a Cop on the radio talking about operation RAID the other day, supposedly stands for Remove All Impaired Drivers... But judging by the size of some of the RBT stations I've seen setup recently I'd be very careful if your vehicle's a defect magnet as well.
  19. You can do an ECU diagnostic using a paper clip and shorting out two pins on the consult port, a code will flash on the dash. Do a search for it on the forums, the ECU will supposedly remember problems for 50 or so starts. May help shed some light...
  20. It says he's from Japan so our laws won't mean anything to him LOL
  21. Yup another for extension and underneath
  22. RB25/30 R33 RB25DET Head VVT connected A'PEXi AX53B70 P25 Turbo @ 14psi Spools very early Thanks goes to Trent at Status Tuning for the great tuning work
  23. I run Denso IK22's Select you plugs depending on your level of modification.
