  1. havnt cleaned the airflow meter. when i did the spark plugs all the electrical plugs seemed fine, what exactly should i be looking for tho? and what is AFM? Changed the fuel filter, and cleaned my air filter but ill buy a new one 2moz. I didnt reset the ecu after doing the new spark plugs, but did it before hand to hope it fixed it before doing the spark plugs and also took it for a spirited drive. Just to make sure, to reset the ecu, you unplug the - terminal off the battery, press the brake a few times and turn lights on for a few minutes, then wait 30mins and reconnect. correct?
  2. well when im at the back of the car it sounds like "putt, putt, putt" but in no rythm, entirely random moments, but the car also slightly pulls when it makes the sound, and when i put my foot down it doesnt do it as much, but still does it slightly, the longer the car is running the worse it gets, so i dont run it much.
  3. I put new spark plugs in today but the chugging is still there, the only things I can think of replacing now is the fuel pump and coil packs (the coil packs exterior looked fine, but didn't have a multimeter to check them) , but the coil packs will have to wait till I get the cash for spitfire ones, so was thinking bout replacing the fuel pump first, but what price and part will fit? Also putting injector cleaner and octane booster through to help.
  4. Awesome, thanks to everyone that's had input, im learning so much from this forum it's amazing
  5. I'd like copper ones, i been told there the better ones, platinum and iridium just last longer but weaker spark, is that correct?
  6. Actually I was gonna replace coil packs n plugs at the same time, but I may just do the plugs and see if that fixes it, then save for spitfire. I was looking for copper ones that would fit but could only find iridium and platinum ones
  7. It'll be only to fix the cars chugging problem so I can get around, then save for the spitfire ones, i need the car asap so I can get to my hand therapist. So Its only a temp solution. But if they fit I may try them out.
  8. What about the ones I linked? They won't fit?
  9. I appreciate the quick reply, but those ones are a lil too expensive for me atm, im looking for a cheap alternative so i can save for spitfires. around the $200 limit.
  10. Hey there, i need a lil help with coil packs to fit a 1998 Nissan Skyline R34 25-GT NEO RB25DE (import). Ive searched this forum, and countless others, plus google, but i cant get a definitive answer to what coil packs will fit. Ive added a hyperlink to some coilpacks im looking at, can anyone tell me if they will fit, it says they will, but ive been fooled before. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Skyline-R34-RB20-RB25-GTT-S2-STAGEA-NEO-Ignition-Coil-Coils-Pack-x-6pcs-/190791257870?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&fits=Plat_Gen%3AR34&hash=item2c6c0b8f0e&_uhb=1
  11. No, it doesn't sound like it's lost power, mostly feels like it's trying to suck for fuel and can't get it.
  12. ok, so ive put a new battery, new fuel and a new fuel filter in, (which was hard considering im still on compo with hand surgery haha) it stopped chugging for bout 20 mins and started again, im thinking mad082 is right about just needing more fuel ran thru it due to its low octane rating, i only put 10L in and there was about 10 already in it. What do you think?
  13. I'll be putting in a new battery tomorrow as well as some fuel, and seeing if the situation persists, if so which filters do u recommend to replace? Oil and fuel?
  14. I Drive a 1998 Nissan Skyline R34 25-GT (import), I had it in the shed for 3 months then went to start it up and the battery is dead, which figures lol but after i jump started it, it started to have an engine chug sound, it does it in neutral, park, and while driving, it sounds like the fuel pump, but would like verification and details on which and where to buy.
  15. i have fixed the problem i had a look at the shims, and one was completely destroyed, so i removed them both and the noise has stopped completely, even let it go for a few days to be sure and not a sound.
  16. I'm not actually sure if the brake pads are chamfered, chamfered is when there's a slant on the pads them self isn't it? Just want clarification.
  17. I did bed the brakes in, even drove light footed on brake for 500km due to new rotors, simple questions help narrow the possibilities haha
  18. I did but ill take them off and check the grease and see if it's the problem, I'll post letting you know the results, it's raining here so I'll have to wait for a dry day.
  19. I have recently changed my brake pads and rotors, but now having a grinding noise when stopping, i have put brake cleaner on them and gave them a clean, yet the grinding noise persists, anyone have any idea what could be causing it?
  20. Thank you!! I googled so much with no avail, but you helped me out heaps *high five*

  22. I would just like to know if the nissan skyline gtr r34 coilovers would fit a 1998 r34 25GT?
  23. I have recently encountered a squeaking in my front suspension. I dont have much experience in this area, i have had a look and all looks fine except the rubber that circles the suspension bar, on the suspension itself, it has been torn to hell and has deteriorated shockingly! So my question is, how much does that part cost to replace? is it an immediate danger?
  24. Hello, i have recently encountered a squeaking in my front suspension, i havnt had much experience in this area, i have had a look and all looks fine except the rubber on the top and bottom of the springs, the part that circles the suspension bar. They have been torn to hell and have deteriorated shockingly! so my question is, could this be the problem and could this be bad if not replace immediately? and how much do those rubber parts cost approx? im good with a spanner and can replace it my self. Thanks!
