  1. Hmm .. heard the Pac MX6 lately? Last time the turbocharged Bavariacars sport sedan was testing at Eastern Creek we got pinged for 121 dB down the straight!
  2. I wouldn't be so sure. An old skool Torana big block will get away with noise that a late model won't ... good old impartiality.
  3. Whoah, that was hard to understand, but good luck at WSID!
  4. Awesome movie Keith. I don't envy you racing on that track either.
  5. Any way you like you dirty mouthed love machine.
  6. I love it when you talk dirty nobody. Say it again, but this time twist my nipple harder.
  7. Paul, No problem! You don't need a passenger's side intrusion bar at all either. See you when mine is finished ... finally!
  8. Old news chap, the recent rule changes (20th August 2004) allow for a removable side intrusion bar. Or else Greg Shultz shouldn't have issued mine with a tech inspection pass on my log book last year! My source http://www.dragster.com.au/modules/news/ar...php?storyid=332
  9. You can use a four point welded rollbar if you run 10.999 to 10.000. No side intrusion bar required at all with a rollbar obviously (no way to mount it). Six point rollcages can have a removable side intrusion bar on the driver's side. No need for any instrusion bar on the passenger side.
  10. Yep, that's it. The only thingI would add is that you can get a four point rollbar in place of the six point rollcage which is good to 10.000. For a regularly street driven car this might be a lot easier to get away with.
  11. How cool! Take a look HERE for what you need to do if you run 10.999 or quicker.
  12. The two fastest passes are both from rocket power dragsters. These racecars are not recognised by NHRA or ANDRA for competiion. The fastest ever pass was in 1977 by Kitty O'Neill 3.235 seconds @ 412.50 mph. In 2002 Slammin' Sammy Miller ran 3.583 seconds @ 386.26 mph.
  13. The rear slicks used on these dragsters aren't much good after 330 MPH. That's why the NHRA keeps downgrading how much Nitromethane can be used in the fuel in order to keep the trap speeds down. If the NHRA allowed them to run 100% Nitromethane and crank up the supercharger overdrive (or allow fuel injection) then the ETs and trap speeds would be much more spectacular.
  14. 322.96 MPH http://www.dragster.com.au/modules/news/ar...php?storyid=726
  15. Yeah, it's running an RB26DETT bored out to 500 cui, with Nismo N1 Rootes supercharger at 50 psi and stock Nissan twin magnetos. He added Nulon octane booster to bring it up to 90% nitromethane.
  16. Hehe, another convert! Top Fuellers can only be experienced live ... TV or video cannot convey the experience.
  17. Chris, I don't know anything about this Falcon BA or it's setup but FULLBOOST tells us it's run 9.98 @ 144.05 MPH at Heathcote in some trim level. The picture in FULLBOST has S/ST class on the car, but that's not right because the cutoff for S/ST is 11.000.
  18. Almost With You (The Church) See the chains which bind the men Can you taste their lonely arrogance It's always too late And your face is so cold They struggled for this opulence See the suns which blind the men Burnt away so long before our time Now their warmth is forgotten and gone Pretty maids not far behind Who you trying to get in touch with I'm almost with you I can sense it wait for me I'm almost with you Is this the taste of victory I'm almost with you See the dust which fills your sleep Does it always feel this chill near the end I never dreamed we'd meet here once more This life reserved for a friend.
  19. It's very simple. A holeshot is the situation where you win a race with a slower ET by virtue of a better reaction time (RT). It is widely misused to mean a good launch or even a better RT. It's only a holeshot if you win with a slower ET. Watch Pro Stock to see lots of them.
  20. Mark, it isn't that simple! There are many factors at play which make straight line projections worthless. Nevertheless there are some general rules of thumb which can help you analyse a full timeslip. For a well sorted car the following ETs and trap speeds are well accepted: 13.0 @ 100 mph 12.0 @ 110 mph 11.0 @ 120 mph 10.0 @ 130 mph 9.0 @ 145 mph 8.5 @ 155 mph 8.0@ 165 mph 7.5 @ 175 mph Note that late model, IRS cars tend to run slower ETs and faster trap speeds. That is indicative that the IRS, lack of space for rubber and less efficient weigh transfer work against these types of cars. Regarding your questions, a stovehot driver with a slow car may still only be able to manage a 2.0 short time. A poor driver with a monster car might manage a lousy 1.5 short time, if you follow my drift.
  21. :-) And you can dress yourself!
  22. Good progress. Still getting hosed by a junior dragster though!
  23. Shane, Good effort and nice _Zoom_ feature. The world is full of weak c**ts who will never (or can never) give credit where it is due. Just go by the opinion of those you know and respect.
