  2. Hey, This guide will show you how to repair one of the most common problems with the rb26 (and other) afms. The problem most afms have is dry solder joints. This is where the solder joins on the plug it self dry up and crack. It can also be an intermittent fault, which makes it hard to diagnose the exact cause. If your GTR won’t idle properly, and wont rev over 3000rpm, then either one or both of your afms are faulty. Before doing this, make sure its your afms that are the problem. Check the ecu for error codes, and borrow a set of known working afms to see if you afms are faulty. Tools Needed: Soldering iron Solder Sharp knife or other sharp object Black Silicon 1. Remove the afm from your car, the pics show what it looks like. 2. Using a sharp knife, cut away the silicon. I found if you cut straight down on both side of the silicon, more comes out. 3. Once all the silicon is cleared, pry off the lid. It should easily come out. 4. The Following pics shows the joins that dry up and cause the problems. Resolder the joins using fresh solder. Be careful not to hold the iron on for too long as the heat might damage the components inside. 5. To show you the severity of the dry joints, i removed the 4 bolts and easily pulled the whole plug out. All 4 joints where completely loose!! Note that you don’t have to do this, just apply new solder over the whole lot, the old solder will melt. Also, do this at your own risk; if you cause any damage to anything or anyone by following these instructions, it’s your fault. Steve Check (if you live in usa): Kroger Weekly Ad, or Myer catalogue.
  3. and what would you do if this jerk off cop pulled you over? run untill a nicer cop stopped you? sounds stoopid.
  4. its true, apperantly the mx5 is perfectly balanced for the track. ' the r33 wont be able to keep up on the track.
  5. hahahahhaha, when they said they were super cheap, i didnt think they were cheap enuff to hire 13year old to run the store. No one there knows anything........ steve
  6. and they dont make much of a differacne in car audio system either, there more for looks, plus some give you the option to bolt on thick cable (used by amps etc) to give is a neater look. the performance differance is none (unless your old terminals were rubbish to begin with) steve
  7. spotted!! F&F1 - the asian dude who lost....
  8. any way of cooling the fluid??? will cooling the fluid help the clutches last a bit longer?
  9. ummmmmm, nooooo what would happen if you had to do an emergency brake at 60kph and you had a pizzacutter wheel at the front? spacers are safer at the back. the diameter should be the saem saze as the other wheel so it wont damage your diff. Also, you shouldnt be taking off quick anyways. and, its easier to controll a car if one of the rear wheels blow rather than one of the fronts. So space savers should always go at the back.
  10. so are they all single cam push rods engines still?
  11. i just read the ariticle, and it isnt the tyres fault. its the d!ck head driving the car. How stoopid do you have to be to drive real fast with a space saver on? on another note, i wonder how a gtr would go with 4 space savers? itd be like driving on ice! steve
  12. the side intrusiion bars that were pop riveted in the door saved his ass. if they were welded in, it would have buffed right out........

  18. lol, i like it how you pointed it out, just in case people missed it......
  19. thats total horse sh!t. a detector is basicly a reciever, so it recieves signals, it doesnt transmit. therefore theres nothing to detect. if you have a stealth detector, you would obvooisly turn it off before you pull over for the cop, just incase one cop sits in the car to listen for beeping and the other shoots the car with the radar from the out side. no such thing as a radar detector detector!! a radar jammer is something differant. steve
