  1. tein make springs in various rates. not all of them are firm- you can get whatever rate you specify. Just that 99% of Tein coilovers come over with rock hard springs.

mate ran him in his 32 with 250rwkw and it was very close, it def wasnt making anywhere near 400rwkw that night.
  3. I heard that these were recalled and temporarily unavailable, anyone know what problem they had? Anyone running them? They sounded good: "coilovers for australian conditions".
  4. i wouldnt consider pedders for a skyline... I used to use them on my old cars -Toranas. Kings are great.
  5. "Will suit VB - VL Commodores and also Kingswood HQ - WB" because there are so many VB, VC and VH turbo's, even more turbo kingswoods running around. :bahaha:
  6. yeah i wuite like the batt in the boot, Im sick of running huge power cables the length of all my old cars!
  7. cant help on cost or availabiltiy tho
  8. the kit is Trust, can get for 32 gtst, mate has one.
  9. for standard suspension setup you can only go about 1inch (25mm) lower. After that you dont get full travel and adversely affect handling. I had kings with the std shocks. Some said they are no good with the std shocks, i found mine great.
  10. i use mobil 1 / motul 6100. Ive recently heard that the motul is a higher "grade" oil than the mobil stuff. I dont know exactly what that means but... Also was told the new mobil 1 super syn isnt worth the dollars. havent done any tests, just what ive heard. But with most of us changing every 5000kms its prob not that important.
  11. thanks guys, thats the best info ive had for a long time! Mick, thanks for your contact, will be a great help. unfortunately i have 19inch wheels with 35 and 30series rubber Well apparently the Tein HA adj dampers i have are excellent dampers, all i have to do is select the right springs.
  12. as i said the springs i have in there currently are so firm its like they are solid. what i want to achieve: a firm but acceptable ride, (firmer than the kings lows) but not so firm that the car will not be able to get traction off the line. Basically a compromise. I have been given solutions but they conflict, given a forum of this size im hoping i can get first hand feedback from different setups to help me decide on my own.
  13. these are more for circuit work. the grooved ones you talk of are the ST115's, yes they are a different model, the st115's are better suited to street, i believe the ones for sale are like the bridgestone R540's or whatever they called. bb godzilla, have you been using these on the street? how do they go when cold? i hear they need heat in them to grip or else they are slippery?
  14. at least SOME of you must know your spring rate! pls check my spring rate thread in the suspension, braking and tyres section if you do! thanks
  15. yeah 300zx. isnt it the only one of the group that has sub 6sec 0-100 from factory?
  16. paid 21,500 mid last year, very clean light mods, turb back exh, bleed, filter, 17's. absolutely no problems apart from i cant stop spending money modifying it. prob owes me nearly twice that now!
  17. got tein HA's with the hardest springs possible -its like no suspension. anyway im getting a new set made up, and have had various recommendations from suspension specialists. Problem is they conflict a bit. One says go 250lb/sq in on all four corners, one says go 350 front, 280 rear, another says go 350 on all four. I checked with kings and the lows i had before are 175fr and 180 rear. -->why would they make them softer at the front seeing that is where the weight is? -->should all four corners be same spring rate? if not, do you go harder in the front as has been suggested, softer in the front like the kings, or same all round? -->anyone had springs made and what rate? thanks
  18. anyone had experience with these? can get for under 160 a tyre (to go on my stock rims 225/50/16's) im not bothered about wear, just traction. I had some simex's before which would sit and spin, found them useless apart from doing standstills... thanks guys
  19. i picked up a 2 way cusco mech diff the other day, after seeing how controllable slide is in a mates car, i cant wait to get it in! I used to try and get the back out a bit with the stock LSD but its way unpredictable, if the inner wheel starts spinning or you back off a bit too much, it snapped back making the car and driver look stupid. Just curious as to what others have paid for 2 way diffs, and are these more expensive than the 1.5 way or are they both good but for different purposes?
  20. guys the previous posts were not made by me and have been removed! i left my comp logged in and brothers friend had a go.
  21. yeah its dodgy, 35 is supposed to be legal, but as mentioned ive heard its illegal to tint the front door windows. My lil bro had 35's all round in his FESTIVA, even had the correct stickers, and regency made him pull it off there and then -apparently due to the "factory tint" thats supposedly in the factory glass. I had mine done, just the quarters and rear (35) and left the fronts. It looks way better, but im gonna get the front 2 done anyways....
  22. have a set of brand new GTR style skirts from Unique Autosports, awesome quality, never been on the car, plus Brand new rear pods to suit, bring the rear end level with the skirts(skirts new=395 pods=295) all up just under 700 (not inc postage to adelaide), sell both for 500. Give the car a nice clean look, no lairy vents or bulkiness.
