hi all, just got my "near new" GT2530 how much is my std turbo worth? Is it worth keeping it just in case? (in case of what i have no idea!)

has anyone fitted a GTR copy bar (the one WITHOUT the little rectangle holes either side of bumper)? i heard that with these ones you dont need to cut anything, whereas the bars with the rectangle holes you need to cut the intrusion bars, is this right??
-
anyone got these? the blade at the top where you grip to tighten the nut broke off one of mine... farken.

hi guys, i need a ride in a 33 equipped with teins. I just got some in mine, and the ride is, well there is no ride! its like a plank of wood! It has been suggested that the coilovers have had a heavy option spring put in, and that i can get softer ones (440 a set). Can someone take me for a ride so i can compare? is anyone getting decent ride using a softer setting on the dampers? if i set mine to softer, it just bounces around even more. also, if you are going to run them on a soft setting, dont you ideally want to use softer springs to match the softer shock rate? Cheers all.

dude that f'in sucks big time. how angry you must be. if i came out and saw that i would have thrown a fit in the street for sure. I like many others share the vigilante idea. Teach the little fkers some respect. As for your bad luck, i have good news for you, ITS OVER!! bad luck comes in 3's for sure (call me superstitious, but so is believing in bad luck ) 1. clutch gone 2. vandals 3. tow truck. so hpefully your in the clear for a while. how many members on this forum?? id be happy to give a couple of bucks- if everyone who feels for you gives you a couple of bucks you should be sweet -
i thought 044 only rated for 600?

cool, cheers guys

hi hip, i had kings lows (1inch lower) with std shocks, and the handling was without a doubt better than with the std springs. I had none of the bouncing that was mentioned, perhaps my std shocks are in good nick? either way it will handle better than what youve got now! as ive seen the rake angle your running! I tried to order superlows, through autobarn mile end, and apparently they dont do them anymore. And anyway, lowering more than an inch is detrimental to handling unless you get coilovers. even with 1inch lowered i had mild camber problems, the inner rears got eaten out pretty quick (thru lots of launches and wheelspinning tho). So basically if your going kings, youll be getting the lows (1inch). If you remember last time you sold me the wheels i mentioned i had a set of lows? still have them, 6 months use if that. I will prob sell them if you want, but i need to see how the ride is with the new teins before i do -im back in adelaide next week. Pm me if your interested dude and we can meet up, prob looking for around 200 bucks? paid 290. Depending on how much time i got, might even be able to fit them for you too.

from auto speeds article (in case your not registered to read it):- "The latest offering from Australia's TurboSmart, however - the e-Boost - can maintain a perfectly even maximum boost value. It also has an anti wastegate creep function and more features, which we'll come to..." "After you've attained your desired maximum boost pressure, you can adjust the pressure at which the wastegate begins to open - this is excellent for bringing a big turbo onto full boost quickly or, conversely, bringing boost on progressively in order to protect drivelines." "All too often aftermarket automotive products fail to live up to their manufacturer's claims and expectations - but the e-Boost is not one of those products! Once adjusted, it gives perfect boost stability as well as a noticeable difference in boost rise time." "Verdict: The TurboSmart e-Boost is quite straightforward to install and set-up (which is good if you're doing it all yourself or you're paying a workshop an hourly labour rate) and - most importantly - it performs extremely well. It holds boost absolutely perfectly, you can adjust the rate of boost increase to suit and it offers a number of useful features."

Hi all, I want to bring my 33 from adelaide up to sydney, anyone know a cheap and very safe way to do so? Paint is immaculate so i dont really want to drive it up, that along with the fact that on the way i may not be able to get 98 octane fuel at some stops?? I dont really like the idea of dropping it off at a depo then loaded onto a truck then dropped off at another depo for pick up, and definitely not up for a door to door service where some dude drives the car! Anyone ever done a transport in an enclosed truck? cost? Does anyone recommend i drive it up? at least that way its never out of sight, but what about the petrol issue? cheers guys, SLY

yeah, the trust one is pretty sick on a RB25 and can make you up to 300rwkw.
-
looks neat, do you ever get done for no front number plate?
-
your nearly stalling problem after revving it up is due to the BOV. the spring tension needs to be increased a bit, simple fix if your bov is adjustable. Sounds like you need to get a good tune - theres no way you can be in japan?! why on earth would you need advice from australia? And you no write broken englis.
-
i had that problem, thought it was a miss. What was happening was that on colder nights the boost creeps just enough higher to hit the factory boost cut, and id get a couple of pops while revving it out. as soon as the day got warmer it disappeard. On cold nights i just turned to boost down a touch and it was fine. Now i have PFC and no longer a prob. what boost are you running? this is probably your problem. PS- DJ, your car looks f'in sick! what bar you got on the front? cant really see from the pic. And what are those wheels?
-
sorry dude, ive just purchased a set of big chromies, and before i bought them, the wheel guy warned "IF YOU DAMAGE THEM, YOU HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER WHEEL OR LIVE WITH THE DAMAGE, AS NO BODY IS ALLOWED TO CHROME WHEELS IN AUSTRALIA!" i have no idea why, he said something to do with pollution??@! wtf...?? ie if you damage a lip, you cant fix just that area of damage, you have to get the whole wheel chromed again, which noone does, apparently. I dont see why you couldnt just go to a place that does chroming- surely if you pay them enough....

i purchased an eboost recently. I considered AVCR from apex, blitz type-s also. I was told by the tilbrooks mob that the AVCR was difficult to set up and to use all of its functions, they recommended the blitz. i was going to get that for under the 800$ mark (AVCR being around the 1000$), but then the eboost came up. I did some digging and ended up talking to the guys at the C&V Performance stand at Autosalon Final battle. The enthusiasm with which he explained the unit to me pretty much sold it. The told me straight out that its better than anything else i could buy, and that they have been replacing AVCRs with the Eboost. Apparently although other EBCs control the wastegate quite effectively, the Eboost is the only one with a "Gate pressure" function -you tell it exactly when to open, ie you can bring boost on quicker than anything else. I have yet to fit it and try it out, but have read through the manual, and it all sounds good and seems very easy to use and program. Does anyone else have one? last time i asked apparently no one was using one. -got it for 675$ from modyourcar.com.au.
-
yes they will. stud pattern is the same, not sure about the offset of std 33 rims but pretty sure it should fit.

If you have the money go an Optima Yellow top gell cell battery i think around 400 bucks, has killer crank power AND is deep cycle -you can let it go dead flat over and over and recharge it and it will be fine. ideal for big stereo's. We put one on a v8 and the speed that it cranks compared to a new std battery is unbelievable. Getting one for the line soon. Ive heard good and bad about odysee batts. Some ppl love em, others say they drop cells real quick and are crap.

yes as stated red17. r33's have hydraulic lifters (solids in GTRs) and if the oil pressure to a lifter is low (on startup) it clicks/ticks till the pressure builds up. Known as a sticky lifter. Dont know why it does it all the time on cold starts though, or if the lifter needs replacing?
