  1. yes. buy brand NEW ones from nissan for a Rb25det and you will be fine. so far mine have handled 31psi and 510rwhp
  2. the VL turbo is a shit turbo. simple
  3. bumpity bump. I aint payin a squillion $$ for this item. the last one i got cost me $35.
  4. i would have taken the front covers off first & inspected the belt and timing before even worrying about the turbo if it was my car.
  5. Yeah the exhaust housing does not look very good, especialy with the wastegate flap in the dump pipe design which pretty much gives you 0 options for a 3" dump pipe. they are known for cracking around the wastegate hole as well. The dump pipe design is crap and the turbocharger uses plain bush bearings and older designed wheels etc etc. I suggest you sell the turbocharger and try find yourself a VG30 or R34 turbocharger!
  6. all i remember is back in the day before i was a tuner, i took a step backwards. the car was more laggy and slower and also only made about 20hp less then others had on their cars. they are just not a good upgrade and the VL turbo i had was a high flow! with bigger compressor and machined front housing by Mr Turbo in QLD
  7. i have done this swap on my car for the same reason you did. i regret doing the downgrade (is what i call it) The VL turbo will give you a 20hp difference. and in difference i mean 20hp LESS power then the stock rb25 turbo. Keep the 25 turbo. drop the boost 1 or 2 psi and enjoy the car how it is. Do not put a VL turbocharger on it. They are garbage.

  13. put the engine in and run it on no more then 10psi to start with. make sure everything is running fine. run no more then 13psi and you should be fine. i also suggest putting a afr meter on it and checking the afr's

DO NOT TOUCH IT. chuck the safc2 in the bin. the rb26 computer will be more then capable of running the engine with heaps more power then what you were used to. enjoy the motor, it will be good. don't destroy it like our 300kw stagea kid in the other thread lol 90% of engine failures are from the user.
  15. i would not worry about it. the engine is fine. make sure you use GOOD oil. Motul 300v chrono if you want the engine to last. btw make sure you dont ping this one

  17. damn you for giving me away after all i have done for you! How long have you been a internet mechanic for ? At the end of the day it goes like this. Yes you can run 200psi rail pressure, nearly blow your injectors out of the rail. You get your 300rwkw, sick! how good is that? you go on the net and you tell everyone "i got 300 with stock injectors ner ner ner ner" But what you don't tell everyone ?? Lets see, your mrs plugs in her 12v hair straigtner, it has a issue, your fuel pump is not getting a full 14 volts anymore, your pump starts to flow less fuel hence the injectors are not getting 200psi rail pressure. You switch your head lights on, your pump is not pushing 200psi rail pressure no more your running a little low on fuel, your fuel surges.... ohhh nasty your altinator decides its not going to work very good anymore, ohhh snap you get a lean out, you break a $6000 rb26. ALL SO YOU CAN JUST SAVE $800. FFS!! do the job properly. or sell your car because you CANNOT afford it. Seriously, your car runs top feed injectors you have access to the cheapest injectors on the market, others have to spend a extra $500 for side feeds and they still go ahead and do the upgrade because they know that every internet mechanic out there can claim 350rwkw out of stock injectors, how many times? once ? twice? on the third time the engine explodes.
