  1. Nah you know what. 1) I had been using the same set of Pagids since July doing two, sometimes three track days a month 2) I changed the front pads right before THC, they are were at about 30% so keeping them as spares, rotors didn't need machining 3) Pretty sure that same set did TT 2011 to a 2nd EM - previous owner could confirm, he had them on there for a reason, Blaise (1st EM) is also recommending the Pagids a few posts above - go figure 4) I have only used DS2500's on a street car, so yes you are right I don't have much experience with them, in their limited use pad wear was considerable, going from other people I have spoken it varies, some find they wear fast, others don't, and the 3000's are hard on rotors and probably not best suited to TR 5) My crash was in no way brake related, it was driver error - rubbing salt into someones wound - class act mate look forward to racing with you The pads are only one part of the equation for longevity, but they seem to play the part well from my experience. Is that enough Poole? Pleasure to meet you. Not sure why you feel the need to belittle someone you don't even know? How about you try adding something to the discussion - maybe you will teach me something with all your infinite wisdom. Good day.
  2. Thanks for your input buddy.
  3. Ok awesome. Not using etch primer but it's only a nik here scratch there so am scuffing up the paint around it as well. Cheers guys.
  4. I am prepping a shell for a roll cage and I have removed all the tar from the floorplan. In this process you get some scuffs and scratches down to bare metal. If I use say K&H primer from a spray can to seal these bits up, will this cause any issues down the track if I get the cage / interior done in 2pack? I also have a little surface rust in the engine bay that I want to strip back, treat and prime.
  5. Never been to Winton - what sort of conservative lap time you reckon I should be expecting in the Evo John? We may bolt on the A050's, otherwise Michelin Pilot Sport 3's.
  6. Kat has given the green light to make her track debut at this. So we will be there with a double entered Mitsubitchy ready for some punishment!
  7. At least we could walk away retaining a sense of dignity .... It is subjective though
  8. I'd be giving Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover a shot first. Its safe on paint. Just recently started using it on a shell I am prepping, gets heaps of stuff off from gaffer tape residue, through to cleaning up tar from the floorplan.
  9. Likewise mate great meeting you guys and see you out there soon. All the best for Wrest Point. Bwahahha top work Liam - right up my alley. Can also vouch for the Pagids - worked very well with no fuss. Bit more expensive than the Ferodo's but well worth it from all accounts. Shell will be off for a cage in the next week or two. Just finished stripping all wiring, tar etc and finishing cleaning up. Z-tune kit is en route
  10. Typed "1uzfe mx5" into Google: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=315564 Looks like they tube frame the front half of the chassis as part of the conversion.
