Million dollar question....how much is one of these suckers? Also isnt there a garrett equivalent to4z...probably similar but without the hks covers? Nice power though...very nice.
-
nooooooooope. Might be good if you wanna screw them for price by a grand and then rebuild it. Depending on motor/condition it should be around 160-170.

re55's SR's hard compound...damn you will need to drop the pressure down more i reckon, cause you will be skaty especially if you have abit of power on tap. Especially if its hot that 32psi cold will grow very quickly to not far off 40psi. Our gtst with re55s hard compound in summer in qld here used to grow anywhere from 5-8psi and 40psi is too hard for any circuit work, i learnt that the hard way. Unless a gtr reacts alot differently to a gtst with tyres/handling ability, but i wouldnt think so cause a hard overinflated tyre is still a hard overinflated tyre. We used to run 25psi cold to start with and by the end of most races and the day we were back up around 32-35psi depending on which tyres and how much work they were doing.

very nice mate. hmmm im liking these to4z's

another pommy bugger hey...you guys have got to stop stealing our skylines....you guys have mg's why you want a skyline? from memory i think they are 370cc injectors side feed, unsure of the neo, prob the same. I think the r33 370's have purple tops...shit cant remember for sure now...anyway i think at about 90% assuming im right would be about 333bhp...that may part answer your questions assuming im right there.

I think your confusing the aircon belt with the timing belt, or at least one of the other two that run off the harmonic damper. The timing belt is located behind the timing covers which do need to be removed inorder to adjust the one tensioner which is also behind the covers. The only idler that can whine/wir/squeel is the aircon idler which is obviously outside of the covers and sits below the aircon compressor. and whoever said gates belts are shit is a moron

Sticky Dave Cracks 360 Today
r33_racer replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sweet thats not too bad for the rb25, and then rb30? Perhaps a 1000rpm earlier? I found that to be the case with the GT35/40. Just thinking of alternative turbos for the race car which might have abit more midrange/top end. -

when does it make full boost? I dont know much about them, but how laggy are they? because everyone seems to be going for them and they seem to be making good big figures. -
Attention! Forged Mahle Pistons
r33_racer replied to T-u-R-b-O's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I ran .002" clearance on my cp's in the rb30det. And I know cp's are in the country and a days freight away, and quite a few companies all stock them now. Tomei you could have to wait for a shipment from Japan, and that can always vary as has been my experience with parts from Japan, unless ofcourse someone is stocking them. -
I believe so, thats why everyone just uses the whole rb30 short block.
-
Thats already been done mate...an engine builder posted about it on here a few months back now...used the rb30 crank in a 26 block im pretty sure it was and after alot of machining and customised work it became a rb29 or something. But i remember him saying there was alot of work in it.

Attention! Forged Mahle Pistons
r33_racer replied to T-u-R-b-O's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
how are they a recognised leader in engine hardware? How are their pistons so much greater then say ACL, CP, Arias, JE, Mahle(with acl) and everyone else? If you can make 1000hp using CP pistons that might cost you $1500 or 1000hp using tomei pistons which might cost you twice as much(honestly dont know but im guessing they are not cheap) what does it really matter? -
The cars not stolen. And it was just resprayed to yellow with the black bonnet. The blue one is a different one...but 13500 is abit rich for any cefiro in my opinion, cause that blue one looks like its got a fmic, big chromies and a new paint job and then the guy is gonna flog it off using its looks only.

Traction For Street 1/4
r33_racer replied to 180bfj20det's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
isnt your best bet always going to be get the widest slick you can fit under your guards and on the rim? So if you can fit the 275's under then go for that. -

yeh alot of race teams...drags, circuit racing and even f1 i think dont bed an engine in for 1000ks before using the motor. They do like a half hour test of running it through the rev range and away they go. Saw something on fox about a f1 team bedding their motor in after assembly and they just had it on an engine dyno and for about 15 mins it just went through different parts of the rev range screaming its head off and that was it...they said it was good to go into the motor for any further tuning and then off to race. Its not like its a big deal to do a set of rings in a competition/worked motor for reliable and consistent power. We didnt do a proper bed in in the rb30det...about an hour of free rev range running, change oil and did it again and then bam to the track for thrashing Piston slap will show up on the knock sensors....the piston goes through the same motion as it would with pre ignition, its knocking itself against the bore, except its doing it on its own cause of sloppy clearances. -
Sydneykid Your A Legend

Std suspension adjustment is very limited i believe. Caster shouldnt be adjustable, nor camber...really only toe front and back. You need either adjustable bushes or adjustable links/arms inorder to setup your suspension as per SK's specs or your own. -
Interested in a set of r34 gtr rims, preferably without tyres...what sort of prices for without and with tyres roughly? Also are r34gtr copies avaiable...I have seen them in magazines on drift cars in Japan, surely they would be considerably cheaper. Cheers mate.

YEP OPTIMAX EXTREME FTW 100 octane....great there is a 100 octane pump fuel now without having to get bloudy avgas or actual race fuel.
-
Well i dont know at all actually...but i dont think we can be that picky in this thread, because we all know that there are not many girls in skylines who may be single. But thats not to say that every chick in a skyline is driving her bfs car either. So i figure just a 'spotted a chick in a skyline' response would be better then nothing.

I found two yesterday..i dont know them..randomly saw them whilst driving home from work... a blonde in a gunmetal 4dr r33 and a blonde in a silver r32 gtr both were attractive incase thats important and i instantly thought of this thread when i saw them.

Galfer And Lucas Brake Pads
r33_racer replied to dd4321's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ive tried them on the track, they are alright for a road pad, they have a good heat range. But for the track, after 1 meeting there was nothing left but a steel plate. Must note that was with the std calipers and slotted rotors. -
okedoke then...how high is reasonably high in your view?

Bog Down Between 2nd And 3rd Gear Changes
r33_racer replied to evil_weevil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sounds like your referring to a change gear and then the turbo is spooling but no immediate power, wait a second or three and then it kicks in again. Everyone notices that after they fit their first fmic kit. It eventually goes away cause you get used to it. -
How high are you trying to go with your CR? I believe there are CP pistons available now to get a CR of 9:1 or conversly just shave the head or use a thinner headgasket.
-
yep sounds good mate....practically everyone runs a bosch these days...they do the trick very nicely. Yes your airflow meter is out of range for the airflow your seeing. You need to get a z32 or q45 to cope. What rpm is it showing 5v?
