  1. I used to do it on my out lap...
  2. Nice upgrade Mark, finally you will get some quality track time. Some questions though.... 1) Why a stock car and not 1 of the many MX-5's already track modified? 2) Why a NB over the newer NC? 3) Would an MX-5 be a better option than an S2000?
  3. How many track days a year do you want to do? If the answer is 1 buy the gtr If the answer is 1 per month buy the evo You need to decide whether you want a gtr or you want a track car, if the answer is a track car than evo it is by a country mile.
  4. About time, that's 1 feature that the Qstarz was missing that the PerformanceBox had from day dot.

  6. Looking more forward to Formula E than I am Formula 1......now if only Merc and Ferrari got in on the action
  7. Hopefully those are not the actual seats you are looking to purchase, if they aren't fixed back don't waste your cash. I am 6'3 and the only problem I had finding seats was fitting my fat arse into them, not the height.
  8. Was it the model with the 2 gear shifts? A high school friend had 1. It was the perfect little burnout car, just side step the clutch in first with the handbrake up and when the engine got tired and the rev's dropped you just shifted the 2nd gear stick which gave it another 1000rpm
  9. Nothing worse than spending all that money on a car only to hear the rattle of a triple plate at idle...
  10. To be honest im more looking forward to the first season of http://www.formulaeracing.com/
  11. Better that you hit the bank then went down the bank
  12. forklift won't be required, just make sure the delivery truck has a hiab crane, will take them all of 2mins to lift into place.
  13. The OP didn't ask for a dollar vs dollar comparison, or a 1994 vs 1994 comparison, or a cubic capacity comparison the question was why don't people traffic light gp skylines anymore (ie in any make/model of car) and the answer is because they are no longer miles in front anymore (GTR's only, GTS-t's and GTT's lost that battle years ago) and other cars have caught up majorly in certain areas. Have you ever pulled up at a set of lights and had an Evo want to run you only to put down your window and say "sorry mate but I only run against other cars made with a 2.6L twin cam twin turbo engine otherwise I wont get any street credit".
  14. Fairly slow yes but only due to lack of traction and a higher vehicle weight as I mentioned above a few times. I gave you accurate power figures above and no not the expensive 1's the stock standard v8 or i6T models. Yes they still would leave 95% of cars for dust, for the first 100 metres, after that it is purely horsepower.
  15. Stock RB26 = ~170rwkw Stock 6.0L v8 = 210rwkw Stock 6.2L v8 = 260rwkw Modifications is a moot point as they both respond fairly equally to modifications (except the current generation v8's and I6T's will handle quite a bit more horsepower in a stock bottom end) it really comes down to less weight and better traction for the R's.
  16. What is it you disagree about? I'm not here trolling, I've had a few gtr's in my past and I totally agree that 5-10 years ago they were unbeatable and other people would attempt to GP you not because they thought they could win but because they wanted to see what your car was capable of. The GTR's back in the day had a heap of power compared to everything else, they now only have traction and weight on their side and have long been overtaken in the horsepower area by stock family cars.
  17. The fact of the matter is, the only advantage a gtr has these days at the traffic lights GP is traction and some kg's, GTS-t's are a dime a dozen with less power than the family falcodores so they are no longer anything special.
  18. I wish I had even half the talent... awesome video, wish there was more of the time attack footage though
  19. I'm not 1 to bag out motorsport officials but when you see cars do more than 1 lap of EC while another car has dropped a 400m line of oil and everyone in the grandstand is cheering as each car slides through it while no flags are out warning drivers it's quite dumb! The Supra crash is probably now the most common corner for an accident since they have added the extended part to the corner and that stupid concrete ripple strip.
  20. wta is a snore fest and is getting considerably worse each year, if I could have found somewhere comfortable I would have slept half the day. The countries best cars, best drivers, a great track and facilities yet the on track action is non existent. They should just line up each class, give them each the track to themselves for 3 laps then we go spend the other half of the day watching the drifting and picking a winner out of the promo girls. Well done Garth.
  21. Its extremely common in all endurance racing overseas....even here for the bathurst 12hr
  22. Promo boobs were epic, was too busy looking to take pics! Bloody hot up there today, it will be Xmas before my sunburn goes away I would like to see GRM grab a win for the last time in a Holden, but Tander is also due for another win
  23. They will help you with any queries you have, 1 of the most helpful automotive shops I've ever spent money at.
  24. The Sparco distributor is located at Emu Plains (2mins from Penrith) so next time you are up Sydney way spend an hour out with them and you can test out every Sparco seat that is available on the market.
  25. It's been about 18mths since I've used both Dashware and the LT-Q6000 but you just import the video file from your gopro or contour then import the data file from the qstarz then sync them together in Dashware. I can't remember how bright and clear the screen is as Wakefield Park you are driving into the sun down the main straight. It is a much more clear and easier to read screen than the old PerformanceBox units (which I also have). The Qstarz unit you have to set a start/finish and also splits on the unit or in Dashware when you edit it together (which is the biggest let down of the Qstarz). The Performance box you can actually download configuration files from there website of popular tracks from around Australia and the World and load them into the PB and it will have perfectly set start/finish and splits. The Qstarz has an internal battery which when fully charged should get you through 2 full trackdays. The PerformanceBox has no internal battery and needs a cigarette lighter socket (which I had to get installed in my little car). Phunky_Monkey has been using my LT-Q6000 the past few weeks so maybe he will have some feedback and/or video's available from his weekend at Phillip Island
