i'm thinking the same but with a RB30 block and the 25 head
-
If the bowls of the head are polished to a mirror finish, would this benefit a compression of approx 8.8:1? The pistons are ARIAS rb30 forgies to suit the twin cam head (25 VVT). The pistons and valves have been ceramic coated. The bowls in the head had some "pitting" around all of the inlet valve areas of the bowls, I assume this was from detonation (head came of a worn bottom end). These "pits" were smoothed out and polished to a mirror finish, the bowls are yet to be cc'd. Doing this to the bowls would lower the comp slightly? (head gasket hasnt been chosen yet).

Does RBmotoring use Motorex to legalise their cars? -

Importing from AUS
Alf replied to Alf's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Why? It's coz i'm putting so much $ and work into the car, esp the running gear. I've driven a 350Z and it's nothing like a skyline, the sentimental value and fact that it's a skyline makes it hard to part with. When it comes to cars I'm very fussy. If I was to buy a new car I would have to pull it apart and rebuild it to suit the way I like a car to be. PS: The RB that's being built is almost done so what ever happens it's staying in my sight. -
Importing from AUS

The info is much appreciated. The US definitely are missing out on such an awesum car. This monopoly that Motorex has is definitely pricey as I'm discovering.:goddam: Most of the imports they have brought in have taken more than a year to get on the road. Say If i was to remove the running gear from the car and ship them over seperately as parts, as far as I know this is legal to do in the US (shipping isnt a problem for me). Would this still have to be registered under the import laws.? From the skylines I've seen legaly imported to the US, they seem to keep them RHD. :werd: -

Now reading about the harmonic issues. How much will a 26 balancer set me back?

Does oringing a block include grooving the head and the block?, this is what I gathered after going through the pics. BTW: This would have to be one of the best threads on this forum, it's more than worthy of a sticky

I have some questions about importing a skyline from AUS to the US. You would think that the US would be snapping up skylines but from what I've heard on US Nissan forums this isnt the case. Apparently the regulations are so tight that only a dozen or so can only be registered in the US per year. There is hardly any businesses that import lines Ok the questions, Would there be any custom issues when shipping a 33 GTS25T to California? There is no problem with shipping arrangements to Main beach cali. But what am I to expect in when it enters the US?. :Bang: I have heard many stories about imports being cut up becoz they are illegal even tho they are not registered. :bs!: I know North America has high standards when it comes to emissions and safety. I've read on US sites saying that RHD cars are not as safe as LDH cars, I think this is just biased BS!. :usuck: Does anyone know how the US system works.? I've read up on the procedures of importing into the US but i can't work half of it out. They use abbreviations like RI, VSP,VCP,VAS,FMVSSn HS-7 and so on. The reason I ask about these ridiculous regulations is I may be moving to CA, USA in the near future and the last thing I want to do is leave my line behind and may bring a few more over later on. :ufo:

The standard crankshaft should cope as long as it has been checked and prepped prior to install. I say you are one crazy mofo, u must love alot of wheelspin :headbang: I'd prefer twins for better repsonse and driveability.

Was it hard to modify the inlet manifold?. I've seen that done a few times but haven't seen the results or whether they create problems. Have heard alot of ppls thoughts on them but no real world experiences. PS: does tripleG have something to do with this motor?
-
I've witnessed it with my own eyes. Are we talking about 1000hp on pump fuel here or something more exotic? I have a SBC on gas and I could never afford to drive it everyday that's for sure.
-
Nispro has built a 26/30 that made a tad over 1000hp. It's not what you call a daily driver or one to cruise around town, it's more strip oriented. The work involved in building these kind of engines is mega expensive and time consuming. Nizpro made a stronger custom crank girdle to handle, the list is endless....

I won't be the first that's for sure, still deciding on what box to use An excellent result, gives the others going down the same path more motivation to get it done

Copying more than 45% of the powercruise format would have u ending up in court with Gup sueing you. Just some words of warning...

What is the user name and passoword to log in, I have some manuals to upload but cant seem to do so.
-
The difference is........... sticker or no sticker, my new Q45 maf was $450 fron Nissan japan, I believe Nismo charge more to put a sticker on :bs!:

Mate put everything u have thats not already on there, the more the better. where is everyone uploading the manuals coz ftp://fileinterface.ath.cx/ has all the skyline manuals plus the silvia ones, or are we guna use http://www.andrew.ihostingonline.com/manuals/ instead?

A few months ago I would have been one of the callers enquiring about these plenoms. I have purchased from UAS many times before and have always been satisfied with the quality. When it comes to custom plenoms I'm a bit iffy about buying something I havent seen results of dyno's etc.... Ultimately behind the wheel is where it matters and I would want to take a 33 GtST with one of these plenoms for spin as my decision maker. ATM i'll sit on the fence and observe.:spcartman

I did the road trip and have to say it was well worth it. The number of high quality and big dollar cars was much more than the previous 2 powercruises held in QLD, sorry Qlder's but it's true. The program was on schedule if you were a Queenslander (laid back as usual) but alot of the sydneysiders were annoyed as things didnt run by NSW times. It wasn't the best time to have the event due to the royal easter show in syd, easternats in vic and cruisetime in qld all happening at the same time. But at the end of the event I left grinning as I discovered some of the secrets of the VL "PSI" with the 712rwhp RB30DET

Joel: Somewhere in the past pages you mentioned drilling the 30's oil galleries. Can you remember what size and were all the oil galleries drilled to the same size?

There are 2 types of Vortex, the normal Vortex which is 96 and the not so common Vortex98 which is what you should be using if u go to caltex.
