I think its a good idea.. there doesn't seem to be much in the way of semi-official meets or cruises up here. Its all "team blah" and everybody seems to go off and do their own thing. A lot of QLD'ers seem to look in here, but there isn't much action.. For this to happen it would require some routes to be planned and things like that. Seeing as I am new to QLD pretty much - don't ask me! There is something about having a whole bunch of just skylines that makes an SAU cruise awesome.. in VIC we had at least one once a month and they were great. You're right about the "if they show up they show up, if they don't, don't". It doesn't really matter, as long as you get good people even 3 cars can have some fun..

here is some vids from the QLD one to whet your appetite.. invite only's a bit poofy even just to watch?! http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ellow_capri.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...s/white_s13.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...hite_r33_03.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ies/red_s13.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi.../red_s13_02.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ies/red_r32.avi

(and a crazy R31 GTS-X..lol).. yeah, doing some of the maddest drifts of them all! I definitely didn't forget that one.. good work man.. here is some pics of your stuff..

I was there spectating. great to watch it in the real! Was pretty hot, but everybody who was going seemed to do pretty well. Mostly 180's, few s13, a cerfiro (or was it two?) and about 4x R32, 1x 33 and few aussie cars.. A few were doing it a bit tame and a few oversteering a little too much and spinning out, but guess they were just learning. white r32 - which one was yours? is it this one??... if it was u were getting some pretty good action happening! r32-drifter what one was ur one? I took some vids with my camera and a heap of photos. Most of these are around 3-5meg and 20 seconds or so. http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ellow_capri.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...s/white_s13.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...hite_r33_03.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ies/red_s13.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi.../red_s13_02.avi http://www.gamebiz.com.au/other/drift_movi...ies/red_r32.avi I got more but I'm on dialup so will take a while to get them all up! Doesn't look like there is much chance of hitting anything which is a good sign.. when i get my shit together I definitely wanna get out there.. Was good to see that white 33 ripping it up as one of the better ones. I need to buy another car first, while my 33 would be more than up for the task, 33's cost too much to fug up

The TRust one is meant to be stronger and last longer - it could make sense if they make the belt thicker and use better quality rubber. At $150 or so compared to $110 or so for the nissan, I'm going to give that a try.. Also going to get a "no-name" water pump for like $90 instead of $150..

yeah, read the guide - its been covered in "maintenance" a bit. The "curing" is not necessary actually. Mine is pretty much as good as the day i did it 4 months ago and i've washed, scrubbed, etc. The high temp paint is very durable and can cope with high temps as experienced during braking. Do 10 coats, you'll be right

oooo... yeah.. yeah. its lowest point (which includes zorst)... its a common one they get you for when they can't get you for the body height.

oh i thought there was some big hidden secret. But yeah, most of Risbey's cars are copy/paste from Yahoo auctions anybody can look at. What I've always found more interesting to look at is the NON-H1 (1990+) cars.. there are plenty of very nice and clean for around 1 Million yen, some would be pretty damn close to stock to be able to bring in under SEVS (or with only a few minor items having to be replaced) .. With 1,000,00 yen = ~$12500 AUD, plus your RAWS compliance cost (is it around $5000 for GTR?) plus few $k for shipping, duties, etc, they work out to be very low 20's. Hardly any different to a "quickly offloaded" 1989 car @ $17k landed, except you get something maybe 3 years newer, and less chance of being dodgy.. People rushing into a 15 year car just for the sake of it, and the close of the rule to get a relatively stock GTR *anyhow* are being a bit silly - consider what else is out there as well! Just because its not 1989 don't mean you can't bring it in! A 15 year rule doesn't really make a jack of difference to you if all you want is a 32GTR! e.g.. http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/u...ion%2Fg14711827 http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/u...ion%2Fg14669148 http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/u...ion%2Fb46529593 http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/u...ion%2Fg14122899

Thats a fair bit below the turbo there though.. and its about the same distance to other essential (plastic covered) wiring to the O2 sensor and things.. and also the rubber heater water lines run past the back of the engine, at a similar distance with no dramas. So I think it would be ok, but I'd be keeping a close eye on it.

Actually you need to park it facing the north wind, on the 3rd blue moon of the year.. otherwise you'll unleash the demons within your skyline.. and you don't want that!

starter motor? But if it cut out while driving sounds more like ignition related ...hmm -
What happened to MINES_DATSUN's thread?
predator replied to JimX's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
i think the problem with mines was that people are just becoming a little sick of the attitude displayed that is making life hard for other more mature import drivers.. my patience for newbie p-platers given their cars or not otherwise earning it, or probably worse not having respeckta for the power and thinking they know everything is wearing a bit thin.. then writing it off or being involved in a major accident just confirms it. -
Can't argue they're not impressive figures, however looking at the GCG site with the turbo you're talking about: XTRGTST-STG1 450hp rated $1950.00 and this is *exchange*. I don't quite see the logic other than keeping the cops and maybe EPA off your back. I think the newish T517z or HKS 2530 seems to be the better option.. He'll probably trounce cars with much bigger turbos where it matters, and thats down low for the street.

nothing is ever what it seems.. and in motorsport, as most people would know, its no different. Games, games, and more games, thats all it is. To claim any of these cars are "stock" or sticking to some formula is no more believeable than any "standard" F1 car exploit.

Work commitments can be the death of a person you know! then again having absolutely -no-work commitments isn't too good either as I'm discovering Anyway, I think its a monthly thing.. so there is always next time. Can't wait to have a look at drift in the real though..
-
There is always the one tomorrow I'm going to up here Its only a short planetrip away I'll hopefully take a stack of pics.. you guys better too!

While its meant to be standard, he did mine at 5200?? there is a list of testing guidelines out there which list every little in and out.. they're out there (and on here) somewhere. Its different for GTR though james so don't stress too much .. i remember at McLeod them telling me it was something else for GTR, but i forget what it was sorry.
-
Actually the other was a 13.8, my bad.. Its all here on the drag list man.. http://skylines.pnc.com.au/ - just send them a PM..

Still having troubles? Ok.. just looking at this, few things occur to me.. but i could be completely wrong. It sounds like you're not actually getting enough pressure to the injectors in the first place, and that sems to be the source. Even stock N/a injectors should be enough to run a little boost. Have you checked the fuel pressure at the rail, and is within range ? May be useful to rig up a pressure tester to the rail and see what you're getting. If you're not getting the required pressure in, the injectors won't be working correctly and hence may reach max cycle prematurely. Also, check your fuel pressure reg? is there any difference between the stock fuel pressure reg, and say the turbo thing. Again, the lack of pressure to the rail thing springs to mind. Also the other is to check the source of course, and that is the fuel pump itself. Are there differences between the n/a fuel pump and turbo fuel pump in terms of flow? I know on like the GTS R33 there can be a difference. Lastly, the AFM signal and when its maxing out is a bit of a telling sign. You tried other AFMs? it seems similar to the circumstances reached when you max out a stock GTS-T AFM when you hit the 220rwkw mark (and hence go for a Z32) when it can *appear* the injectors are maxing out .. and with the emanage, i believe you need a separate injector harness to be able to control/dictate the injector pulse rate which will be important in this situation to override the ECU's injector timings. .. so overall it sounds more like other factors than the injectors at work here.. and it may just be the end result of them maxing out that is the most obvious. Hope that might be some food for thought, if you haven't already gone through it all (probably have ) p.s. thanks for the toulene!
