How tall are you guys with R33 GTS-T's?
phorj replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm somewhere around the 6 -> 6-2 area... bit of a sqeeuze, but fine once in... I also have a 'long thigh' which is why I got a R33 as I could opperate the clutch in a R32... knee kept hitting the steering wheel! -
I go for *spirited drives* thru the dandy's all the time, my GF lives around there! I love the thrill of 60km/h+ around the tight turns at night... half those corners are blind... it's awesome! Hard to tell if there are cars coming... head-light are hard to see, and even harder to steer away from! Still HICAS keeps me on the road and has saved me and her (much to my displeasure) many times! My car sometimes has same prob too... i put it down to heat-soak as i have stock IC! I don't recommend *spirited drives* unless you are comfortable with the handling of your car!

GTS25T or not GTS25T thats the question?
phorj replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The R33's did come out in 1993... I know as I have one! The GTS25-t was a 2.5ltr Turbo (2.5ltr in R33), whereas the GTSt was a 2.0ltr in the R32. For all intensive purposes an R33 GTSt is the same as a GTS25-t! The only thing I can't make sense of on the web-site is where is says DISPLACEMENT:4... WTF? It does appear to be a Series 1 R33 GTS25-t (series 1 body-kit, and 2.5ltr Turbo as has 5 bolts on wheel/brake/axle), but it would be best to have a look at the car first/arrange for another garage to have a look at it before purchase! hope this helps, -
find an R34 and scatch some paint off... then take it to a paint store and get them to match it on their computer. DON'T BE STUPID AND DO AS I HAVE SUGGESTED (unless you don't get a response)! Maybe e-mail nissan NZ and ask them? Nissan sold R34s... they should know, but them wanting to tell you is another story

kinda makes ya wanna buy a falcadore doesn't it? - HICK STYLE *runs in circles pulling on hair thinking... what have they done*

going to put Blitz BOV, K&N POD, exhaust front/dump pipe and EBC green-stuff brake pads in over the next month or so! also replace the front speakers and try to fix a few of the above mentioned dents/blemishes before selling it! Basically... I'm still going to MOD it until I sell it, but price should stay around the $16ono mark! -

My old man went to a place called HyperTech in mitcham/nunawading. cost him just under $2g for PowerFC (no hand controller), also got adjust. cam gears and new spark plugs put in (at added cost). took his GTR from 160rwkw to 200rwkw and increase mid-range torque at lower rpm! he was v.happy with it, let thye clutch out a bit too fast and *chirp*, they didn't lean it out too much, you can still hear some petrol ignite in the exhuast! hope this helps

I'll keep my eye out in ESE 'burbs! That really sucks! I agree with DJ_lethal... Will follow and total car/ppl in it! Could bear anything happening to my car, and it's stock (so nothing will probably happen *jinkes self*) Will follow, call you... then cops to report a murder! lol

Yes, it is considered structural... My mate in a VH commo got in trouble from cops becoz of it! You can either cut it and take your chances, or fasion another parcel shelf out of MDF to sit ontop of the original, then carpet the MDF if you want to fit bigger speakers! Even if you decide to cut the parcel shelf, make sure that the speakers aren't going to hit the battery in the boot! i nearly had this problem in my car, but speakers miss the battery by about 1cm!

thanks for the quick reply S13 Silvia I was thinking on just going with the RB25 head, but if there was a major +++ for me getting a RB26 head I would! Which are the non VVT heads... ser1, ser2, or can't you tell that way - are there a mixture of both? This now brings another question to mind... how could I tell if it is a VVT head or not? Thanks, Doug

Hey all, Not quite sure what to do... here's my prob. I have a stockish R33GTS25t, only got cat-back exhaust... as we all know that just wont do! I want to stap a 3L kit on it and shred some tyres! I was wondering if was advisable to kit my RB25 head and put a 3L bottom end on it, or to try and get a hold of an RB26 head and do the same? Is their really any difference one way or another? if so... what? Is it going to be easier to put a 3L kit on either the RB25 or RB26, i know there are kits you can buy for the RB26, what about the RB25 - or will I have to source a block (VL style) from nissan and get the rest custom'd (to some extent)? BTW, this will hopefully be getting done in the next 6 months or so after i sought out finance, feasibility, insurance, etc. This is all part of my 'information gathering' phase. Thanks for all the input, and sorry for wasting 15 minutes of your lives that you aren't going to get back! Doug

send pics to [email protected] thanks

I like the ULTRA-wide kit on the yellow R33, would get it for my car, but the stock 16"x7? would make it look funny as hell! You could fit rims ?x13's under that with room to spare, not sticking out the guards, it'd keep the cops off your back... maybe not! *dreams of filling the arches with drag slicks*

I've got dibs on the GTR front bar you had! Sorry, trying to find some fun in the matter. Good to hear it wasn't that bad!

I was looking at getting an R32GTS4... but I couldn't fit into it! I'm 6'2" and it's hard to get into a R32. I then looked at R33GTS4's, which aren't turbo'd... FORGET IT! hence I ended up with an R33GTS25t... i nice car to drie, but the R32's are smaller and muich more nimble around corners... in the R33, you can feel that it's a heavier car when you drive it! hope this helps
