  1. im not sure what the deal is with the n1's i think they are a bit bigger than 32gtr turbos and have steel wheels, can anyone confirm? goodluck moey, let me know how it goes.
  2. theres a few things that will effect it. the turbos you have on your car are bigger than standard rb26 turbos arent they? 10psi on your turbos equals to more flow (=more air, which means more fuel) than 10psi on the standard turbos so turning down the boost even more is your only option if you dont want to get your car detuned. its either that, or throw a bunch of steel wool into the exhaust before the cat have a read through this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Em...ed-t155081.html i think it would explain whats involved better than i could
  3. track day is constant high speed which means constant airflow and you get a cool-down lap as well. on the street its start - stop, start - stop. giving it a hit on a hot day then stopping at a set of lights will put all of your hardware to the test. for example, it was a hot day and i was babying my car through the streets of the gong as it was a HOT day. on my way back up to sydney i went through nasho and had a bit of a go. i had no fears because i knew my radiator was getting enough air to keep my engine cool. at least on a track you've got the cool down lap to just cruise at a low load with constant airflow still coming at you... THEN stop. i see your point with the intake temp adjusting and thats what i've set up on my car, except on my gtst it has to be water temp (no intake temp sensor). i just advise anyone without the gear to play your intake/water temp adjustment maps to take it easy.
  4. you could be shifty and get an extra cat or 2 welded into your exhaust, or before you head down throw some (heaps of) steel wool before your cat to help with the emissions, otherwise you'll need to think about booking in for an emissions tune somewhere. i know Guilt-Toy does this but i think he's in newcastle as long as the pods are enclosed and the cover looks like its sealing properly then you wont have any dramas with that. whats going to totally freak you out is they're going to take your car behind closed doors to do the inspection and all of the emissions testing. i heard it f**ks with you a bit goodluck!
  5. my cousin got a cat back exhaust on his r34 gt (non turbo) and actually lost power. so if you do the whole exhaust thing, dont do it half arsed. get the extractors.
  6. i try to keep away from the whole 'boosting' thing on a hot day, but im just saying that because of my tune. car pings, temps rise, oil pressure drops... its not a pretty sight if things go wrong.
  7. lol
  8. yeah thats a crappy idea. a good idea is to pm me with where you put your kill switches. ill eventually let you know if they are effective.
  9. the safc can be used to trick the ecu that the afm isnt reacing the voltage that it actually is, so it wont hit fuel cut. the thing is, the ecu has 2 spots that ive noticed the boost cut hits. 4200 and 5500. ive maxed out both points with my turbo. what ive logged on my emanage is: R&R starts to creep in at 3800rpm @ 3.8v. at 4200 boost cut hits at around 4.7v, 5500 it hits again at around 5v (afm maxed out as it only reaches 5.1 volts). the emanage has a afm clamp setting, so i can tune all of these in with no worries. the safc needs to be put on a dyno with the correction values wacked in. just get it re-tuned and tell them thats whats happening. heres a print screen of my log files: heres where r&r starts coming in: 4500 fuel cut: 5500 fuel cut: i hope it makes sence.
  10. yep. i love dose.
  11. yeah ill meet at p6 as well
  12. wow. thats the second one that ive heard of to go in the same way. what a suprise. whos one is next, do you think?
  13. just be careful of that cheap stuff. it tends to start squeaking and/or come slightly loose after a while if its not (at least) glued. we dont even use the cheap stuff on the houses we sell because of how crap it is/looks. also, depending on what kind of flooring system you have you'll need to lay down a layer of timber sheets under the timber flooring. then all of your skirting will need to be re-done because of the extra height of the timber floor. look into it.
  14. get some 1000 grit wet and dry sand paper and use that on it, then buff it after. i had a few spots like while my car was off the road, the grout from the tiles on the upstairs balcony dripped on it (i parked it close to the house). i just got some wet and dry, wet it, and lightly sanded it then buffed it smooth again. came out shmick.
  15. i THINK theres a wire you need to solder into the track on the back of the nismo clusters for them to work properly on the gtst's but im not 100% on it. try a search? look out in the events section for track days, you'll need a cams license for oran park and easten creek, or if you go to wakiefield park you'll just need a wakiefield park license which you can pay for on the day.
  16. in the Paramater settings, in the Vehicle bab, theres an input that says Off Set Angle. this is used to off set the data logging angle to match the actual timing. have a play with that and adjust it till your data log timing matched your base timing.
  17. what kind of floor is it? c/crete slab or bearers and joists? are the bedrooms upstairs? if so, what kind of flooring system is it (same as q1)? what kind of timber floor are you looking for? the panel (cheaper) style which comes pre-laquered and pretty much is pieced together on site, or timber floors that are ACTUAL timber strips with tongue and grooves? just need to know because the guy we use to do our timber work doesnt do small jobs.
  18. yeah guys, enough fighting before they close the entire events section and restrict it to paying members only. seems to be the next logical step after what happened in the community section, eh?
  19. the vg30 exhaust housing will gain you around 10-15kw at the most. its probably not worth the trouble of spending $150 on machining then having to take the turbo out and re-fitting it etc.
  20. nah i havent had the car tuned, maybe over the next few weeks. ive used my old tune with the gcg turbo and im making around the same power as i was on the slide turbo at 15psi, with the gcg turbo on 12psi. ill be getting my afr's checked up soon so ill update when i do.
  21. done, but ill note that i was expressing the thoughts of the boys, not my own. i already ignore her on cruises.
  22. you trade off your 3 month suspension for a 6month or 1yr suspension with just 1 point to spare. you can only choose to do that if you have your full license. if you get a demerit point within the good behavior period you lose your license for 6 months (i think).
  23. i wanted to but ive got exams on tomorrow till wednesday! its been a shit go for me all weekend. come to the pizza cruise on the 23rd ill be at that one.
  24. corinne, if you're going to report someone then just do it. dont come here and say, 'i saw this and that and this' because 1. all it will do is create tension between you and whoever you're pointing out and 2. next cruise nobody is going to give a damn where you are or even talk to you because you were being such a biznitch. they all know the rules and all have their licenses so either report whatever you want or leave it to the police to catch them one day. no need to come in here specifically pointing it all out.
  25. dont buy a bmw unless its an m3. you wont look back. my cousin was dreaming about a bmw for 4yrs straight. he used to bug me about dreams of driving a 325 convertible and pulling the chicks etc etc. he sold it after 2 months of buying it and bought a rex. they are true blue pieces of shit. evo 9 is the pick of the lot. or sell your car and make the budget 90k and get the new gtr when it lands
