  1. I got mine done aswell, and it cost me $40 as well...$100 is a complete rip off!!! Mine sounds sweet, a little droney between 2200rpm and about 2500 rpm, but nothing I can't deal with! The RB series engines sound great, so in my books the louder the better. Sounds gold on full noise whilst drifting with the BOV going off all over the place.
  2. they also have to have side intrusion bars fitted if not factory fare...
  3. fair call...but you can always be optimistic...maybe a 2.4 litre stroker kit will get you up there...
  4. All is good, my Insurance Co has waived all excess etc, and the car is being fixed atm. Cams at the servo were not filming at the time of the impact, BUT I have the consloe operator as a witness and another independent witness so my insurance co had no way accuse me of any portion of fault! I should be back on the road on Friday, just in time for a dyno day in Brisbane!!! But knowing my luck, it will be another week...
  5. Correct, parked for atleast a minute while cooling down, then as I released the petrol flap and looked up...BANG!!! Repairs in excess of $2k
  6. Clutch... See Just Jap in Sydney, exchange ceramic button (single plate) for around $550. Will hold plenty of pwr.
  7. Last Monday I was about to get out of my car to fill up when a 17y/o freak backed his Dad's Hilux into my 32. See photo...let me know what you think, and how much it is costing to fix??? What you see is the damage caused by a tow bar at low speed. Just missed the intercooler (thank God). To make matters worse, this clowns Dad is disputing the claim as 50-50 at fault. My excess was waived though, so much for the dispute! Any other instances of brain explosion as I have described for any other Skyline owners
  8. TonyGTST, from what I can gather, ANDY32 is not putting the Q45 into a 32 V Spec, but because the heaviest of the 32's was 1500kg, you can transplant that engine into ANY of the 32 series Skylines, therefore allowing you to go for a clapped our 32 GTST for nix to use as the donor vehicle. I know a guy at TTR in Brisbane who has a quad cam v8 in a Silvia also, but he is having problems with the legalities because of weight issues too.
  9. the advice thus far is sound, the question I have for you Makaveli is: How do you resolve to get 300rwkw out of your RB20?
  10. $500 button clutch from Just Jap. That will do the trick! My last Exceedy Organic Button Clutch lasted about 8 months due to drifting and cost me $2,000 fitted, so I got ripped off basically. Then I bought the button clutch from Just Jap and another flywheel and changed it with some mates from Cyber Group and it only cost me $880 + Booze for the weekend, pretty cheap really! PM if you want some more details...
  11. Drifting is hard on clutches but extreemly enjoyable so **** it
  12. Hey...I am not alone!!!!!!!!! Mine broke once, was welded up by the place I bought my car from, lasted 3 days and spapped again. I then paid about $150 to get it done "properly". That lasted for about 14 months and then spanned again...shiiiiit! So I was tossing up to get a new pedal box installed from a front cut @ $275 fitted or fix the original one. I got advice from the mob who put my intercooler in a couple of weeks ago and the young guy had a look and said he could fix it and brace it so it would NEVER happen again. Since then it has been better than ever. It may have had something to do with the brutal treatment I have given the 3 clutches I have been throught in the last 18 months.
  13. My 32 did the same thing about 18 months ago on Xmas Day,, it was really hot, and it has never done the wierd steering thing again...thank God!
  14. 51OPE on an R32 and again...no Asian driving
  15. I drove my R32 over a gate magnet on an industrial driveway and ruptured my engine to manifold, manifold to turbo gaskets and 2 other smaller gaskets down the exhaust line... I took it to an exhaust shop and was quoted over a grand to fix it because of the labour involved... I said shove your grand up your azz! I have 2 good mates from Cyber Motorsports int and they have access to full workshops, therefore, we spent a weekend (about 24 hrs total) removing my turbo and all ancillary stuff, refitting new gaskets and putting it all back together after a general clean up etc. Gaskets can be bought from Nissan Aust in Brisbane, at about $106 for the engine to manifold, and $30 ish for the other 2 (manif>turbo and turbo>dump) so $180 ish for all 3 (not bad really). You need an air drill to drill in the middle of the studs (I had 5 broken off in the head) and the easy out is a must. I was extreemly lucky that all my studs came out in one piece otherwise the head comes off and "rebuild" enters the equation.(nasty $$$) I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as I now know exactky what goes on under there (respect maybe, but I still thrash it). PM me for any finer details as I know everything first hand. The help I had made it all possible, so make some friends with workshop connections and it will be all good!
  16. they say your exhaust is only as good as its smallest diameter pipe... Therefore it will be disrupting flow so go for the 3" high flow cat as you stand to be fined $11,000 or something apparently. Don't risk it as the cops are getting worse and worse and you may be the unluck fella who gets busted!
  17. Hybrid Super Intercooler PM me for more details...
  18. IF I am correct...Rays Engineering and Volk Racing are the same company???
  19. Actually...I have 3 photos of it already so I don't need any ned ones, thanks anyway champ! A little bit of surgery on my front bar will be required to open the mouth to the intercooler totally (I want to expose as much of it as I can to the air flow!
  20. I see. Can you get a shot of the front of the car for me MM2death? I want to see just how flush it is to the bar... Cheers for your help!
