  1. It happens 80% of the time when cold. I have not had any work done on the car recently. It definitely doesn't feel right. On rare occasion when cold the revs would play up a little bit, slight misfire, but most of the time it's unusual jerky power delivery.
  2. I'm in Perth but can arrange for freight. Open to anything rather than having to buy all the items separately. Cheers.
  3. Hi Guys. I'm looking for a power pack for my GTR, so looking for somebody who has something complete off an old setup looking to buy : - Turbo or Turbos, if single with manifold and dump if possible - ECU, Such as Power-FC or other - Injectors if needed - AFM's or MAP Sensor setup if needed. Something like a set of -7 -9's or GT-SS and Power-FC would suit me, but open to anything Give me offers and how much you are after. Cheers
  4. Hi Guys. Just posting up here for the WA people, I'm planning on getting a drag night happening. Check out my post in the Events section. Looking at the possibility of getting about 15 cars to come out one night to the drags so we can reserve a staging lane so we can all race each other. If interested please post in the thread.
  5. Just seeing if there is a possibility to get some decent numbers down for one night, doesn't have to be next week. If we can get 15 people up for one night then we can reserve a whole staging lane.
  6. So I just phoned up the Motorplex. In order to be guaranteed to be placed in the same staging lane so we can race each other, we need 15 people who will definitely come down one night so they can set aside one staging lane just for us. If we can get the numbers then we can chose a date in the future that we will all come down on together. Otherwise we can still go and get out and race our cars. So let's see how many people are up for it and depending on the numbers we have, we'll see what we'll decide to do. Please post up if you want to come down and depending how we go, if we have a small group - we can probably organize a small meet up south of the river and then all drive down to the drags together, if some of us coincidentally end up in the same lane we just may get to line up against another Skyline. Thanks.
  7. Hi Guys. So I'm organizing a day for all us Skyline owners to go drag racing. The whole point is to see how your car put's the power down and how quick you can go. This event for those that know it is called Whoop Ass Wednesday. For those that have not been before, I have done a write up to make things straight forward and to make your night more enjoyable. Basically what you will need : 1. Road going and roadworthy car, no missing interior, seats. 2. Long sleeves and pants, closed footwear 3. Helmet that conforms to "AS/NZS 1698", ensure yours is not outdated, e.g one without the "NZS" bit will not be allowed, if you don't have one head down to your local motorbike shop to chose one that suits you. 4. Current Drivers Licence. Location - Kwinana Motorplex. Onde Onde road, just off Anketell Road, just follow the signs to the competitor entry gates Time - Entry starts at 5PM and closes at 8PM. The earlier we get there, the more runs we get depending on how crowded it will be. I'm going to try ring up and see the possibility of placing us skylines in the same staging lane so we can race each other. At the moment I am gathering interest to see if a few of us want to head down next Wednesday (16th), and we'll go from there. If you are interested in bringing your car down, let me know. If you have any questions please do ask. For those that have not been before, I've included some information and a guide below to make your night more enjoyable : After you get your entry form from the competitor gate and pay your fee, take the first left, then another left as seen in the Youtube video, you will then come to the scruiteneering garage where some basic checks are done to your car, mainly no loose objects in interior, everything firm and secure in engine bay e.g battery, exhaust etc. Fill in the form given with your cars details, engine size etc then head to the table to get your wristband put on. You will have a few numbers written down on your windows, and the number of the staging lane on your windscreen. This is the lane that you must line up in every time. As you leave the garage take a right and go to the staging lanes where all the other cars are lining up, line up in the staging lane that was given to your car, written on your windscreen. Once your lane begins moving, your helmet must be on before you enter the track. Once you get under the bridge, wait in the Blue Square (beginning of video). Watch the officials as they will direct you forward when it's time. Once you are waved in, you can drive to the wet area (0:10 seconds into video) if you chose to do a burnout. If you don't chose to do a burnout, place your car just beside the wet area to keep your tyres dry. Wait until instructed (0:17 in video), begin your burnout, or if not doing a burnout drive to the starting line (Green Cones) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k9C-nhwhE0 (32 seconds in video above) As your car nears the green cones, drive very slowly. There will be two white lights at the top, one on your side and one on your competitors side. As you approach the cones, the top light will light up, this means you have about 20cm further to go until the second light comes up. Both lights must be on before the the run can begin. Very slowly move your car forward until both lights are on, then stop. The lights will then light up and once you see green, off you go. Keep accelerating and once you reach the readout boards, then stop accelerating and begin slowing down, drive all the way to the end of the track then take a left and stay on your left on the return lane. Do not exceed 30km/h as this is the speed limit for the return lane. As you return to the bridge area, slow down and window as there will be an official there who will hand you your time slip with your results, then continue driving and line up back in the same staging lane and do it all over again. When off the track, please drive slowly and safely at all times for everybody elses safety and to ensure a good time.

    Meet Up

Should we do something soon, any ideas?
  9. Standard Engine, Standard ECU Boost restrictor removed, Fujitsobo Mid-pipes and exhaust. It's almost like power delivery flatlines in small split seconds then comes back on.
  10. Hi. On my R33 GTR which has done 100,000km, I have noticed it has a very unusual power delivery mostly when cold, it seems as if the power curve flatlines for a bit, and then surges suddenly, I can feel/hear very feint misfiring, but most of the times it seems like somethings holding back, you can notice it when you hold the throttle at say 40% in 1st or 2nd gear. It get's better as car warms up. Now I'm thinking first thing most people would say is Coilpacks, am not sure how they play up on these cars but I'm thinking those would cause severe misfiring under high load all the time, which I don't get, could it still be coilpacks? 2nd Issue I have heard could be AFM's, I have opened them up before to add solder the the joints which is a common problem. The elements on the AFM's appear clear with no buildup. Igniter is recently changed off a car that had no problems. I had it in at a GTR Specialist and they said some of the injectors may be dirty which is causing a bit of a rough idle and coming onto power badly. I would appreciate any feedback or experiences you guys have had with an issue like this. Cheers.

    Meet Up

Sounds like a plan. Are we doing a day thing or a night thing. What should we do?
  12. There really is no Club so to say to become a member of. I was not around in the heyday when it was much more active and there was more of a community. We have recently had a couple of meets though following some posts :

    Sounds good, any ideas?
  15. Car - R33 GTR. Tyres - Nitto invo 245/45/17 Use - Fairly new, driven maybe 500km or so. Power/Mods - Stock turbos, Boost Restrictor removed (14 PSI?), Upgraded midpipes and exhaust. 100% Grip in all gears. In the wet grips extremely well under power. Handles good but hard to say as I have not driven other GTR's to compare.
  16. Hi. I have a R33 GTR V-Spec, I like the current ride quality with factory struts and springs, I do not want it to get any firmer or harsher. Is there any springs you can get that will retain the ride comfort of my V-Spec springs/dampers but lower it about 1 inch or so? I'm really not into coil-overs are I have no need to adjust it and most coil-overs i've tried have been pretty harsh Was thinking King springs but they appear to be a cheapo brand. I'm unsure how springs specced for a standard R33 will work on a GTR, as from what I understand the GTR's suspension is quite firm from factory, the car handles just great. Cheers.
  17. It was quite a big turnout, there were many cars at the first meet point.
  18. Was an OK meet and cruise but there was some rain. Here is a nice Photo of 2 GTR's :
  19. Meet up at Big Rock Toyota, small car park corner Wanneroo and Nugent/Cosgrove street at 6:30 near Parts/Service area. We'll then cruise together to the meet at Kingsway Shops.
  20. Hi Guys. I have a small crack on one of my Ducts on my R33 GTR S3, just wondering if you can get ones from Nissan that are Painted? or where else can this be sourced. I'm looking to get one that's already painted as I know repainting it's never going to match the factory colour that well. Cheers.
  21. I'm up for it. I was going to post this up before but forgot, thanks Elle. Yes the plan is for us SAU guys to meet up somewhere else beforehand for a chat and then head down so check back at this post guys for our meet point which will be announced soon. Where should we meet?
  22. Yeah my fault I did misread it, too far away. Is there anything on in the coming days/week ?
  23. OK Well the show and shine is coming up pretty soon, who wants to go to it. I think it's a $5 entry for cars and $1 for spectators which will go to charity, and it will be good for a new of the SAUWA skylines to park together.
  24. Switch to HD 720 before watching.
