  1. wheres the village green hotel? i might come round say hi
  2. new rubber stoppers are on the boot lid now and the latch has been adjusted. still got rattles... ive had the exhaust checked before with 3 of us under the car on a hoist banging and shaking the crappa out of it. not a peep. ive thought maybe it could have something to do with the suspention. i still have the stock setup. anyone had anything wrong with their stock suspention? any rattles? still gotta hunt this nosie down. Mr Ed32, is true about a good stereo but i do sometimes like to drive and listen to the RB26 in front of me. wicked note. which is why i hate distracting rattles!
  3. i gutted the inside of the boot and the interior eg:back seats, upper and lower trims (destroying my upper trims in the process...) you cant see diddley sqwat from the interior. most of the rear quarters is thru the boot.
  4. possible to get els for the 320km/h nismo set?

  6. stock speakers etc. dont wanna add too much weight to my car. ill check the skins and support stuff. i might go nuts with a tube of black silicone. the whole plate assembly has been checked as i thought my new plates might have been vibrating. its not this... thanks for the suggestions
  7. yea thats what the mechanic told me. more then likely this then my head. i picked up a good 1 from a wreckers yesterday. it goes back to the mechanics tomorrow. hope this works. fingers crossed. let u all know the outcome
  8. new boot rubber stoppers fitted. the boot shuts a lot nicer but theres still a rattle... any other suggestions apart from gutting the whole arse end?
  9. ok well its not power steering fluid. its sump oil. doesnt smell like sump oil and there isnt any white residue anywhere... apart from a head gasket (which the mechanic says it probably isnt) where else could oil get into the coolant? possibly the housing where the oil filter screws on? apparently theres coolant running thru it. the motor is stock apart from dumps pods. no extra coolers added. i will be gettin an oil cooler and relocator for the filter. will need the cooler for track use. so what do ppls reckon it could be??
  10. not a good idea to run power steerin fluid in ur coolant true. im not doing it by choice people. NEVER use power steering fluid in ur cooling system i dont know hows its getting in there but it is. the mechanics trying to figure it out

open up the afm and check the solder joins. for some reason just about every soldering join in the cars are dry solders. u might just have a loose connection in there somewhere. u will need to cut the black silicone off to open it and dont forget to use black silicone to put it back together i think ive seen a how to in the diy section on fixing afms. GOOD LUCK
  13. i dont think graeme would have told anybody including the info on this post any info that would be classified confidential. he didnt say anything to me this mornin apart from that he will get him.
  14. mate if only u were in melb. mate of mine has an import wreckers that deals with only skylines, silvias etc. he would have EVERYTHING ur after. almost garentee it!
  15. when i had this prob i could get my window to go up and down IF i physically lifted the window and operated the switch. try this. take the weight of the glass off the mechinism inside and operate the window. if it works, its most likely the motor. apparently fairly common fault as well.
  16. who woulda thought that after reading this post last night that graeme woulda pulled me over in the divvie van this morning to say g'day! oh and still no speeding fines! just said g'day!
  17. leaning more toward the boot lid rubber stoppers now. ive adjusted the latch to hold the lid higher and the rattle has quietened down but still auditable. ill pickup the stoppers tomorrow if i get out of the mechanics early enough. keeps u posted
  18. ppls, ive had a great day! (note massive amounts of sarcasm...) i thought id check my fluids as i do every few days, and low and behold, oil in my overflow bottle! so i check the radiator cap. yup! oil in there too... checked the cam oil cap. just nice clean motul. no water. checked the dipstick. again, nice clean motul. no white crap from water. checked the power steering fluid. now that was low. real low... got some of the oil from the overflow bottle on my finger and it smelt like power steering fluid. i checked the 4WD bottle at the back just to make sure it wasnt it and it was fine. ive almost convinced myself that its the power steering fluid. i just finished flushing out as much of it as i could and topped it up with plain water. the shops are closed so no coolant for me. im off to the mechanics tomorrow. anybody ever have anything like this???
  19. redline coolant with inhibitor (pink in colour) with distilled water. good flush out to get rid of the glycol base from previous coolants + rust dirt general crap etc. the stuff works good with glycol, but better without it. or any good quality 50/50 glycol (the green stuff) i currently have power steering fluid in my raditaor and it hasnt overheaded! (still not reccomending it!)
  20. i can confirm that. my car was on the hoist next to this 1! damn this is a massive post for 1 day! ive got so much i could say but its all pretty much been said by other members. being a member of a resuce team and seeing what happens AFTER somebody has lost control was the best wake up call i could ever experience. fair enough a little squirt on the go pedal is all good, but not 30+ on the limit. thats just plain stupidity. calder park is that side and sandown is this side ppls! id hate to rock up to a job 1 day and see a beautiful car with sau stickers wrapped around a tree... and for the record, ive owned 3 cars. a VL 2 speeding tickets. a VS 1 speeding ticket and a GTR fine free!
  21. no special tool for it mate. im just a skinny bugger and i can get my hands in all kinds of small spaces there was a little bit of mud in there as well so i took it out and replaced it with fish oil so my panels wont look like urs. the spoiler is on tight as. the rubbers a pretty well cactus though. ive ordered new 1s and ill pick them up thurs along with new door seals $$$
  22. sorry guys but ive already found all the crap inside my panels. anybody like golf? i got about 20 wooden tees along with 3 empty spark plug packets. ive taken the spare wheel out, the jack and tool kit etc. all of the carpet and panels so my boot was a bare shell. (so good to see no rust!) im picking up some new rubber stoppers from nissan tomorrow. anybody seen that computer lookin thing thats located inside the left rear quarter panel in front of the jack holder? WTF is it??
  23. want some great news??? it cost me $300 to get just 2 hoses at the back of the motor replaced. the mechanic did all of it for me though. sourced the hoses and fitted them. he needed to drop the gearbox to get to them. i was urgently needing to replace them as i had coolant running all over the starter motor and gearbox. i reckon its worth doing it just for the peace of mind factor.
  24. hows things lookin ronin? im hangin for some pics of the finished product. hope it turns out awesome!
