  1. Probably a bit of a stretch given when this was posted, but is this still available? Would like to grab asap if it is. EDIT: didn't read full post - PM'd
  2. R34s shipped with spoilers have a strut with a different part number to those shipped without (different pressures I imagine). They shouldn't be relocking themselves when you close the front door hard enough - at least my first gtt didn't. The part number for struts for that one is 84431-AA185. My new gtt does the same thing as yours now. And from the factory it didn't have the spoiler (has been put on afterwards) and will close itself if I shut the driver hard enough. Part number for it is 84431-AA125 - which we probably both want to replace with the first one. Anyway, I'm interested in trying the struts, especially if they're meant for a gtt with a spoiler. Would you take $50?
  3. Doesn't the series one have a black trim on it? My last 34 had some stitching along the inside.
  4. Series 2 R34 steering wheel. Hi all, Recently picked up a black series 2 R34, and it came with a steering wheel which didn't have the two tone trim (see image). The other thing I noticed it doesn't have, is any stitching along the inside of the wheel. Is it possible the two tone trim has just been removed or has this wheel come from elsewhere (and the series 2 airbag module has been kept)? The gaps between the airbag module are uneven, so my assumption was it had been swapped, but interested to see what others think.
  5. I used to daily my Bayside Blue GTT up until it was written off by a p plater. Put over 30,000kms on it in just over a year... I've since bought a replacement. But as my main form of transport is now public, I imagine this will see far less daily usage.
  6. Car was a stat write off. Damage to the chassis was significant (as per pictures), and the engine had also been impacted. Looks like I need to find another Bayside blue GTT. Probably won't find one for the price I paid for this thing
  7. It's probably a good thing they're made like that - being able to crumple that easily means the car takes the impact, not the occupants. Aside from the fact I've lost my car, it was a very comfortable crash.
  8. I was aware about the salvage value. But wasn't aware of the specifics regarding the RMS. Thanks heaps for the info - I'll look further into it. I love this car, so will definitely be trying everything to get it back on the road, unless the cost is exorbitant.
  9. I'm considering buying the car back, getting a front cut (without the engine) and repairing it that way. Hopefully engineless front cuts aren't too expensive. That is, of course, it isn't a statutory write off - which I doubt. Unfortunately the police haven't done much now either. Because of where it happened there is just no footage. They did at least check the servo nearby, which was nice.
  10. Insured for 16k (the amount I bought it for last year). Don't think I'll be able to find another 34 in the condition this was for that price now -.-
  11. On September 24 a driver in a silver or grey FD Honda Civic (or some other Honda sedan) decided it'd be a good idea to speed through a red light. I couldn't stop in time and we collided . The guy in the Civic then left the scene Thought I'd share the damage while I sit here waiting for the bad news that my baby is written off. Out of interest, what do you guys think? Definitely a write off? Also, just in case, if anyone has seen a smashed up civic in the Cabramatta area in the last week - any info would be appreciated.
  12. Yeah dude, been at UNSW for 4 years now haha. I assume you do too?
  13. This was me. Thought I'd finally stop lurking to reply to this. Nice car man!
