  1. I've never been to AutoSalon, but I was thinking I might drop in on Saturday this weekend to check it out. Is there an SAU stand set up? Anyone else planning on being there or putting their car on display? I'll swing by and say 'G'Day' to you if you are. Maybe even go grab your lunch if you don't want to leave your cars side. EDIT: Just realised that there's a thead in here about the SAU stand, so I'll be sure to come by and say 'Hi'.
  2. Looks like a good turnout. Bonus is that I just got my new wheels in time to show them off.
  3. Drove alongside a maroon R33 with nice white rims on Old Northern Rd last night, about 7:45? Wheels looked a bit like Enkeis, but couldn't tell while moving. Dude with a cap on was driving. I was in the black R32 if they're on here and wondering.
  4. Hah! No, no. It wasn't 2 whole days, it just ended up spreading across both. You could do this in a day easily. I was taking my time getting it done well, just so I had peace of mind. That's a pretty big install you've listed. Best of luck with it mate, get some pics up once it's done.
  5. I asked this question as I was considering painting a regular FMIC from silver to black. I'm told there's no problem, just do thin coats and you're sweet.
  6. That's awesome. Would love to pull up somewhere and drop the door in front of people. It moves pretty damn quick both up and down, I'm impressed! But is it just me, or does that video look quite dated? All the clothing and hair and even the actual quality of the video look 10 years old?
  7. Judging from the wording of funky's posts, I'd say that the tabs for the grille are definitely removable.
  8. Yeah looks good, big fan of the body styling as well. 9.5" up front is bloody huge, no wonder it got heavier!
  9. Far out. Scorching hot - I love 'em.
  10. I agree with the OP that it looks pretty hideous. Lots of effort + money gone into it, though.
  11. You know you drive a Skyline when your parents tell their friends that you drive "a hoon car".
  12. My bronze Z-7s have been fitted. Pictures to follow soon. Sizes are 18 x 9.5 +35 (Rear) and 18 x 8.5 +30 (Front). Rear tyres are 255/35/18 Kumhos and fronts are 225/40/18. Rears are scrubbing and need guards rolled, but other than that they look super tough.
  13. Too late! I went the 255s and yep, they scrub. Damn they look tough though. Rolled guards should see me clear, though. Thanks anyway.
  14. Fitted them tonight and no dice, I'm afraid. Got them on no worries, but they're scrubbing at the back. No big deal, I'll get the guards rolled tomorrow and she'll be apples. Looks pretty damn good, I reckon. Although could do with a slight slight drop (10mm more maybe?). Not sure yet. Pics up soon.
  15. Thanks for the replies. You're right about the wording of the first post, it doesn't make a lot of sense to just ask about the offset - but you've figured it out anyway. My new wheels arrive today and I need to go get tyres. I'm getting 9.5" +35s on the rear and I'm worried that 255s will scrubs badly. The ride height is only a touch lower than standard. Am I going to get rubbing from 255s with that size/offset?
  16. Hi Guys, Got some 18's arriving from Melbourne today and I'm going to have tyres fitted. The fronts are 18x8.5 +30 and the rears are 18x9.5 +35 and I need to know which size tyres to fit. This is for an R32 GTS-t with fairly standard ride height (lowered a little). I've been told I need 225/40/18 for the front and 255/35/18 for the rear - will these sizes fit? I don't want to end up with scrubbing, so if I'd be better off with 245s on the back, please let me know. Thanks!
  17. Saw a white R34 GTT tonight at the Wondabowl on Salisbury Rd in Castle Hill.
  18. Yup, that's exactly right. You pay the portion of annual fee that's remaining, then they issue you a replacement rego sticker and switch to the new rego on you e-tag as well (if you have one). Haysey: Love the YARR32 with eyepatch. Haha.
  19. Ordered and paid for a set of Bronze Z-7s. Should be on my car by Tuesday so I'll get some pics up for those interested. Looking forward to it.
  20. Yeah I get that, but what I'm aiming to see is which width and offset is the best fit in 18" purely in terms of sitting in the guards.
  21. Ah you do good. I was thinking red stripe between the two tone in my head as well.
  22. Yes I'm well aware of that, which is why in the original post I did specify that I need to know what the width is as well. It's even in bold. Thanks for your concern.
  23. Looking amazing, mate. Looking forward to some more progress pics.
  24. What width wheels are you running? 8.5's front and 9.5's rear or something?
  25. I like the idea of doing two tone with the top half black and bottom half white. Plus some sort of dividing stripe to distinguish the change. Also, another vote here for keeping the mirrors CF.
