Hey guys, my car is coming up for a service, and since not having the car serviced before by me, as i havent owned it that long, well im just wanting to take it to a place in vic that works with a fair few skylines and knows exactly what they are doing. Any suggestions in places to try?

You say they **** your gearbox, but by what sort of span are we talking about here, and how exactly does the kit actually stuff the box up? I have been interested in getting one of these into my r33 gts-t but i dont want it blowing my gearbox up.

Hey guys i have a series 1.5 r33gts-t now i want to get a new oem front bar and want to put on a oem gtr grille, which is plastic i beleive. any places you guys recomend i try out ? i am in vic so in the same state would be prefered, but not essential.

my prevoius cars, were in order of owning, a 1986 holden camira (throws up) a 1987 vl calais turbo, and a 1978 holden hz gts monaro, so as you can imagine most of my cars have been, well, they stand out. but i see people doing stupid things no matter what cars they have, i am actually finding that european car drivers (audi, bmw and mercedes) to name a few actually have no idea how to drive whats so ever. As if they think they are to good to have to follow the laws and have any sort of decency. but yo get your good and bad drivers in all cars, just some more than others, young p-platers in performance cars, whether its a v8, turbo or what ever think they are top shit. I used to drive a bit like an idiot, but had the brains to do it in the right sort of places, ie. totally visable, and totally empty road ahead. Watch the road very carefully !!!!!!!! also watch out for new cars with dints on them already

Since australia day, well since i have gotten my skyline (about 2 months ago now) there have been so many idiots that just do stupid things like tailgate me, and just cut me off. There must be a big sticker on my car that says tailgate me and cut me off please i like it. Other than that, how many accidents have happened recently, last nite (australia day night) well about 1am the morning after coming home, this vs commodore comes past me over the wrong side of the road doing 100+kmph in a 60 zone, comes up to a red light, goes through it, slamming his brakes, t-bones two cars, one of which got spun around and hit another oncoming car. Now the passenger got out with a blood soaked head, and got to the side of the road asking for help, an ambo did come later, and the driver staggered out of the car, looked fine, and then ran off a short while later, then the cops rocked up getting statements off everyone, this sort of driving activity shits me to tears, i tear up the road and race people to a certain speed, never dangerously or in any dangerous areas, maybe princess hwy sometimes hehe so where is all the media placing commodore drivers as wankers? oh hang on wait, if this was a skyline or 200sx, or any import it would of been on the news. any ****wit that drives like that deserves severe punishment doesnt matter if they drive a skyline (looks around the room) lol

Yeah thats why i was thinking about drilling a hole where the coin slot is next to the mirror switches. That would be a decent viewing point, not up where everyone can see it and quite practical in my opinion. Just dont want to do it and it turn out shit I havent had the car that long, i never really look at the tacho, only when im curious as to what revs the car is pulling, but i can tell everything by the sound of the car, and i cant hear the turbo at all unless the windows are down, i think i need a pod :D hehe

Thanks for all your help so far everyone, i am still undecided, and have a little more time up my sleeve as my boost guage is going to be sent back for repairs, just stopped working :s, anyways i was thinking of two locations, #1 drill out the coin slots and place the guage in there and have it sitting nicely and all the wires away. (just next to the mirror switch) #2 it would be somehow attached on the air vent just next to the instrument cluster with an autometer cup holder. anyhelp on these guys? i want it to be very visible for me. so i can look at it with a quick glance whilst driving.

mine is starting to make a little bit of noise when the clutch is released, possibly the thrust bearing. i think, had this happen on a manual before ... what sort or clutch should i replace it with when the time comes, am going to be chasing roughly 220rwkw. and how much :s

When ever i buy things from ebay i always contact the person first and as much as possible try and pick the item up personally, i wont deal with people that live close by me and will not allow pickup, it sort of makes you think, why wont they, whats wrong with it, what arent they telling you. I've been ripped off on ebay before so i go the pickup method nowadays

Seriously certain cams might give u a little lift in torque but that would most likely be in the higher rev range say 2500 - 4000rpm, depending on the lift of the cams, sadly the smaller the engine, the less torque, be glad u dont own a wrx as i have heard they arent anything until boost comes on :S it all comes down to money as per usual, rb30dett? vq30dett?(300zx engine?) I've got an old v8, and the power is totally different, just try to keep the revs up ?

Or an easier but even stupider option, get a nice big v8 say a 350chev and twin turbo that (heard there is a kit out) and wham you have a twin turbo skyline with a hella lot of torque, would push way over 600nm of torque at the fw

Any of you guys know how to make the el guages brighter? apart from the obvious, i want to go brighter than the controls let me. I recently installed a autometer c2 guage and its heaps brighter than my instrument cluster, just want it to look pretty similar.

Dont worry about it, i found out the problem, just rewired it, seems to be fine now. No harm done whats so ever.

Hey guys i installed my autometer boost guage today and when it gets on boost it doesnt go back down to the zero mark, its only a boost guage and not a boost/vaccuum guage. Any one else encountered this or know how to fix it? is it as simple as changing the constant wire over? Any help would be appreciated as i will be trying to rewire it tomorrow afternoon.

I have had a electrical boost guage in my r33 gtst and have had an old mechanical in my vl turbo, and to say, the electrical guages only come in the smaller size where as the mechanical ones come in two different sizes. I would prefer the elctrical ones as its a little bit safer for a couple of wires to be coming into the car rather than a hole massivly long vaccuum line. the eltrical ones have a map sensor that you mount in you engine bay and feed the vaccuum line to that. quite an easy job to install also. I have a c2 boost guage. part number 7160. if you bring back a boost/vaccuum guage ill swap you for the boost one hehe.

Where abouts on the steering column??? i do have a cup to hold the guage in. Any pics of any placed there?

Hey everyone, just wondering what is everyones thought on the placement of a aftermarkert boost guage? I am still trying to decide where to actually locate mine, the a-piller is pretty much out of the question unless i can see some pictures of some being installed on a r33. I am also having to place an avc-r somewhere, hmmm *scratches head*
