  1. To add, I’ll describe my boost control lines if one of you could maybe confirm for me I’m correct ? its a hks evc 6 on the solenoid, looking down on it, barbs out the top Right barb, goes to inlet manifold centre barb reads pressure from nipple on intercooler pipe, also T’d over to stock map sensor and To middle port on wastegate left barb, goes to end port on wastegate included a pic of the manual and solenoid as described above Can see here the grub screw was missing now replaced the missing bung look ok lads?
  2. Hi chaps so tonight I got the exhaust vband released from the turbo and plugged a port on the wastegate, that was meant to be plugged with a 1/16th bung. So up until now I’ve actually just had the controller turned off however, I’ll now attempt to set the controller over the next few evenings. As for driving, it drives nice, a touch laggy but unless provoked it puts all power to the ground without breaking traction. I get what your saying and that’s a fair point? Run a lower rated spring and use the controller to bring it up to 1.4. That may prove to be more steady i looked at how the wastegate is mounted to the manifold, there isn’t a lot of room on there for a install that allows a more ideal mounting with easier gas flows
  3. Ye but my turbo or manifold isn’t setup like that
  4. Ye, I’d prefer a small runner pipe up from the manifold wastegate port then mount the wastegate, giving a more direct flow
  5. Unsure mate, I’m not the tuner as such, could grab a pic of the ignition table from the hand commander if helped? What area need I look at
  6. Quick pic I have of the exhaust side built up, im thinking there should be a better angle to the wastegate joined on with a length of pipe? I aim to run 1.4 bar through the hks evc and hoping that may stabalis things, and bring the boost in harder currently just on the wastegate as we couldn sort the boost controller but I will sort that and it’s a hks evc 6 controller, on a power fc Open to all advise lads, thanks
  7. So I got my gtx3076 gen2 v band, I think .83 housing on v-band setup, 6 boost, turbosmart wastegate Installed. 1 bar base spring, it’s a pro-gate lite 50mm on a rb25neo, unopened on mapping at base pressure it creeps to 1.35 bar. Is this a known trait of them ? Had some boost control issues too so need to narrow it down to either the hks controller which is difficult to set, or possibly check that a grub screw has not fell out of one of the ports to block off unused 1/16th npt ports, but if I get that sorted I aim to run 1.4 bar through the controller, is that likely to creep too or would that stabilise a bit in that I’m wanting to use that pressure rather than dump it? i will get some details as I actually get time to go play with the car, left it at that on Friday and actually tuned the creep as a minimum but I want to have a regulated 1.4
  8. Yeh that was my other thinking. I’m aware 300 isn’t a lot hence my concern I’ll look into heat sleeve thanks
  9. So I just want to be cautious and be sure my oil return hose is up to the task with heat from the turbo and manifold ive used a basic fitting/flange at the turbo with a screw on an fitting and vibrant brand braided hose which is rated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit down to another screw on fitting into the block sound ok? Or Should I consider extending the return fitting in solid pipe 6 inches away from the turbo then the braided fitting? It’s a 6 boost 3076 rb25 setup
  10. Ok chaps the car is home, super can anyone tell me, if I swap the z32 in (and what wires I need to join) and reselect z32 in the power F.C. hand commander, will the car still drive again or will it certainly need mapped again even for light car moving ?
  11. Cool boys, thanks for that its a road car so reliability is the thing I’m after not every last horse from the engine. first thing when home is to check base timing is correct, it’s me and a friend tuning it, he’s quite clued in but the z32 will be easiest for us as it’s directly supported by the power F.C. I’m not familiar and I did try do some research about a r35afm before but it was not as straight forward as I would have liked.
  12. Hi my current power F.C. map is for a basic setup including a hks2530 on a rb25 neo. Was mapped to 1.3 bar with usual supporting mods, intercooler, r35 injectors, stock afm etc etc. with a conservative road map the car is away at my mechanics getting a new setup fitted, gtx3076 gen2, 6 boost top mount, turbosmart external gate, stock plenum remains in place. I will plug the standard afm back in, would this be ok to limp back to my home with keeping below 2500rpm and no heavy throttle? i will map it from home with a friend and change to a z32 afm then Next part of my topic its a unopened neo run on 98 ron. Not after lots of power, about 1.4 bar max would be my intended boost, would that be safe enough? I don’t want to risk the engine to much few pics of the fabricators work, I know i expect to hear should have ditched the plenum and throttle body and stuff, but at the lower power goal at this stage it will be fine, next year I may add a head gasket and studs etc, at that point I’ll privably change the plenum thanks all
  13. Is there a nicer method of water return on the rb25 ? i know the fixed rigid pipe runs into a rubber hose behind the head, just do the same ? With a braided hose and a barb type fitting ? Or what’s the method when doing a whole new turbo install other lines I’m ok with
  14. So you mount the wastegate to that v-band then pipe it away cheers
  15. Not in the uk we get the manifold and are required to make external wastegate pipe to suit
  16. I’m installing the 6 boost top mount setup on my neo. Using a turbosmart wastegate. Anyone any pics of the routing of there wastegate pipework etc ? How far away is the wastegate from the manifold etc ?
  17. Cool lads. On the wheels turning when in the air, they turn the same way so suggests viscous, which is what I suspected as I had a s15 before with the standard helecoil diff and my car does behave differently I.e one wheel wonder at times so a Nismo is deemed a good purchase ? I struggle to find a Nismo retailer in the uk, could you recommend anywhere and I could get it shipped?
  18. I have a 1999 gtt 4 door. Factory manual drivetrain as far as I’m aware. Any way of knowing if I have helecoil or a viscous setup ? And does that matter if I buy a 1.5 or 2 way or is it specific to the type of diff I currently have ? It’s a road car and will likely upgrade at some point cheers
  19. Belongs wherever ya like, it’s still the most used jap tuning solution I would say and most recognised around the world. It will do my job, I’ve installed 3 link’s in previous toys and super ecu but for day to driving there wasn’t a lot of difference to my previous power F.C. tuner cars
  20. God your really up your own aren’t ya lol. Mot doesn’t detail anything about pipe sizing either
  21. Ive searched plenty but can’t find anyone saying exactly what they done or what’s needed
  22. I’m thinking I’ll just run a z32 afm as getting any solid info is hard enough Donr see much point changing to nistune and I like the power F.C. hand controller if I was changing ecu it be to link or adaptronic
  23. Yep, I gather that. Just wanted a bit of chat and experiences on the subject to try gain some know how. Is it difficult to form this table from scratch ?
  24. Anyone on here have any info on the vq table required when tuning the r35 afm on power fc. Have yet to decide but possibly 3.5” pipe or 4” thanks
  25. Are you sure ? I thought it maxed out the voltage in a smaller pipe if it flowed to much air. Hence the need to go up to 4” but im all ears
