Decided to get Masa kit... but how?
Brazen replied to Brazen's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Gonna need the stock panels myself it seems - Spent the day in at the inspection centre talking to inspectors, then phoning engineers, and finally speaking to the head honcho who issues "in principle" approvals to procede with modifying the body panels of a car.... and the result - bloody new ADR requirements. Turns out that NO car made after 1996 can have a non-original replacement front or rear bumper or bonnet or fenders fitted... UNLESS the proposed replacement panels are submitted by an engineer to a full ADR crash test - yep thats right Id need to buy a MASA kit - fit it - SMASH my car engine and all at 60km/h - then IF all is ok they can approve THAT body kit only for application to Stageas in future LOL. This applies across the board - gave the boys at the spoiler places a shock - all the aftermarket bumpers they fit to 96+ Skylines and Lancers and Echos etc lol - none of them have been crash tested and are defectable. But before 96 model cars you can fit whatever u like to it - apart from carbon fibre bonnets which are defectable no matter what. BUT I'M DOING IT ANYWAY - just means if I get defected I have to book it in to have the entire kit removed and stock panels put back on - pass pits - refit MASA - rinse and repeat Hasn't put me off - can live with the possibility of getting defected ... body-kit places reckon Id be unlucky if they did me for it - so only enquiry left that could stop me is the insurance company - gotta check they'll permit it... wish me luck! -

EOI on my 18" rims
Brazen replied to mr_rbman's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
take a wheel off, get a measuring tape, and measure the exact millimetres from the inner mounting surface (the small round plate where the wheel bolts to the car) to level with the back (inside) edge of the rim (not including the lip). This is called the "backspacing". Check out this pdf for info on this - a few pages into that document it shows you how to measure it. http://www.cjtire.com/pdfs/Wheels.pdf Then take the backspacing and punch it into this formula to calculate the offset: BACKSPACING - [ OVERALL RIM WIDTH / 2 ] = offset That pdf document shows the examples etc using inches - so just remember to convert to mm as we use here of course. -

Yeah hard to work out - if you look at their site - see the picture of the kit parts at the bottom, with the arrow beside it and the characters "パーツ内容"... that translates to "Kit contents". Well the "6 pieces" Kit Price is also on the site as 239,400 yen - but thinking about it thats probably the pieces with the stars beside it - which all translate to body panel names... so yeah - they must charge extra for the mounting parts and headlights etc... hmm - no matter... ITS MINE REGARDLESS!!!!! -

Alan from Nengun was kind enough to send me the layout of piping for the Blitz LM Intercooler... Remarks Translation - You can connect a Blitz Super Sound Blow DD M/C After version. - You can`t use the Standard airbox - It is recommended by Blitz to use there product, which is the SUS POWER AIR CLEANER
-
Page I found and yahoo translated with a long list of aftermarket Stagea specific parts: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...3D%26safe%3Doff
-
Alrighty - biting the bullet and going for the Masa kit - but can anyone tell me how to order it?? Dont think Masa themselves ship overseas - so how do I go about buying it and getting it over here?? This is their page: http://www.masamotorsports.com/ Looks good: So yeah - how do I buy a full kit from Japan? Cheers Adam
-
Man we got alot of pages of Stagea threads now - finding this exhaust thread took some digging! *puts down shovel Stumbled across this list of Stagea specific exhausts from Japan... http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...3D%26safe%3Doff Also got tabs to other typesof parts too

PentRoof Stagea parts - tell me what they are please :)
Brazen replied to Brazen's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks Burns! I think on the site it has reference in the "Additional Info" to all of those parts for R33 and R34 engines also - but use the RB26DETT picture... but Im gonna need to find someone who speaks Japanese to confirm for sure. But at least now I know what type of parts they are! 6. = yeah pineapples - of course... but in aluminium/stainless? I thought they were like polyurethane/plastic normally? How do metal ones work? Will the pineapples and castor bars work on normal Stageas?? Cheers Adam -
Awww - dammit Thanks SK... spoilsport Do all the parts on my other thread look like 260RS only parts SK?? Cheers

Brazen replied to Brazen's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
OK worked out a bit of translation using babelfish translator - pic number 1. is for fitment to RB26DETT (260RS) as noted in the translation of the "Additional Info", but seems to be the only one that is 260RS... the others in additional info translate to "R32/33/34 conformity" Can anyone work out what the other parts are what engine they look meant for. The "Additional Info" button on the Abflug site for each part is the left of the two grey/back buttons... the right button in each item is "Add to Cart"... But yeah - someone who knows parts by looking at them have a stab at what all these parts above are?? Cheers Adam -
So they sent a single shocky first by itself, then sent 3 more... LOL - wtf?? -------------------------------------- Posted this elsewhere but should probably go in the suspension thread for people looking only in here for supension options... Here's an dam expensive choice at $3700 - but very noice being PentRoof Bilstein WGNC34 specific coil-overs order online from: http://www.ab-flug.co.jp/indexf.htm (and shout me a set while you're at it)
-
No LOL - the "1" is a "/" - the prices online are 28,000 yen (~$320) for FRP (plastic) and 42,000 yen (~$500) for Carbon Fibre roof slats.
-
Where would you start - every individual thing would do so little - you'd have to do it all to get a big difference... but maybe: - Lightweight Rims (my TE37s arrive soon ) - CF bonnet and panels/mirrors/spoiler - a few different choices from http://s108.secure.ne.jp/~s108121/ssl/stag...les/stagea.html - Remove the roof rails and replace with flats also from http://s108.secure.ne.jp/~s108121/ssl/stag...les/stagea.html - No sub-box lol - Dont drive with your missus in the car - empty your coin box

PentRoof Stagea parts - tell me what they are please :)
Brazen replied to Brazen's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah I will be ordering the scoop soon - lemme know if anyone wants one. So can anyone tell me from just looking exactly what parts 1 -> 5 pictured above are and if they look meant for normal Stageas??? The site says WGNC34 but I hope they arent only 4 260RS?? Cheers Adam -
You can have mine - PM me a realistic offer
-
Yup - thats all it is - you've introduced a bit more lag with the extra length of intercooler pipe - so it'll feel a bit more sluggish - although your peak performance probably hasnt dropped - just changed your curve. The FMIC just now will allow you to do a few more adventurous things to up your power and push it power back down the curve a bit - whereas pushing a bit more with the stock cooler would start getting risky further down the track... talk to your tuner... but the FMIC and maybe a couple of extra bits and pieces should now let you up your boost if you so wish or do more hardware mods. It wont take much now to get that lag out of the way and make the car FEEL fast again
-
Not unless he's come back... went to Mitsubishi (I think it was) a few months back.
-
"pops" as in an exhaust sound... or more of a "knock" under the bonnet... if its the latter - wind the dam bleed valve out and drop your boost before you fk your engine!!! Get your tuner to check out the bleed valve and set it the max boost they think u should safely run.
