  6. OMG it lives!! Got it fired up yesterday arvo now just trying to work out all the bits n bobs of the microtech hand controller, and try and get it to idle right, is rich as hell everywhere atm. Sounds sweet with the Kakimoto exhaust!

No because the full force of exhaust gas is running through the turbine, and with minimal restriction on the comp wheel, than the turbo will spin way harder than what it needs to for the required manifold pressure. It may help minimize spool time if you had lazy internal gates, external gate will be no different untill the gate opens

No, Just opens up at a set pressure eg 1.2 bar the valve opens so manifold pressure cant go any higher, no you dont have to have a wastegate but its a good idea to run them to stop the turbo over speeding. The Production race cars like duncans run them as a requirement so they cant run more than the factory boost pressure. Nizpro used to just run a pop-off valve setup and no wastegate back in the early VL turbo days, with success.
  9. Time taken to change gears is what will kill any potential to go much faster than a car with half the power. Plus getting it to the ground will be hard even on slicks.
  10. It has the potential to go low 10's in a heavy GTR with an H-pattern box, maybe high 9's being that it will be on slicks
  11. Here is the rest of what i said, I clearly did have some involvement in the thread, by saying that neither car is really suited for drag racing in standardish form. As a matter of fact that if I was talking to someone about this in person, I would say that it's a pointless idea. So...how about you take some of your own advise and STFU, this is what forums are about...If no one replied to questions (even if they arn't what the OP wants to hear) than forums would cease to exist.

  13. If I were to bet, my money would be on both cars not making it to the finish line. This really is a pointless argument. Neither cars are really any good for drag racing, without going for a 4-link / ladderbar rear end and tubbing it, neither car will be able to take a tyre much bigger than 10" wide. If you wanna have a drag car, buy a torana or a capri, you WILL run 10's with 450hp and slicks.
  14. 25 head, thought about going the 26 head route, but couldnt justify the expense of buying a new head, manifolds, turbos etc
