  1. Nismo 2-way mech diff Hey, wrote off my r33 gtst skyline in a drink driving accident a few years ago, was planning to put the diff in and go drifting its a Nismo 2-way locker, 5 stud axles, no need for it anymore. On the flipside if you give me an r33 ill happily put it in and use it Price $650 or nearest reasonable offer. postage at buyers expense. 2. hi, may be interested in some parts for my 33 gtst, is that list comprehensive, in warnambool on holidays... Btw are there any import places/wreckers/performance shops here?
  3. ok Im in your face, get over it, as for trying to save you money and you having a go... watever. heres an old DIY on fixing coilpacks... do it with silicon... and running a wire straight to the ign module boosts voltage to it for better spark. due to voltage drops through the ecu. http://www.skylinesa...ssfire-problem/ good you have splitfires now... they will be nice.. especially for a massive boost setup. thing is you probably didnt need them... just trying to save you money. sorry for taking the piss mad082... you didnt read the post, otherwise you'd know that it's not useless to run a seperate power wire to the ign module for better spark. as for economy... Ill stand where I am, stock gtst's should get 500km/tank.... and city/hwy driving is highly variable... depending on your style... I know from past experience a lot of ppl post on here(like you assume I am) with no idea about engines and recommend stuff you don't need... I thought aftermarket coilpacks had been done to death, you only need them for high boost situations, but ask someone on here with stock coilpacks running a higher power application, before spending 600 on coilpacks for a pretty stock engine... goes in the same bracket as what gap do I run my plugs at with stock boost?
  4. turn it up... u should have fixed your stock ign coils and run a thicker guage wire to the ignition module... or spend a lot on spitfire coils... which are nice but not very cost effective. your loss.
  5. 1. I was joking about the re-iteration of run till empty... or how to calculate fuel economy... its pretty easy yes? beware of calling ppl Plics... lol, I get easily offended. not harm intended. chill 2. yes you need to fill it up... I'm wrong there... I presumed you were relying on the guage... so LoL at me. 3. as for that, I'd say you wouldn't want worse than 12L/100km in traffic... otherwise something is probably not working in harmony.. as for useless post... i guess you can figure out the engine yourself. If the economy is down... and you have new 02 sensor, tried plugs, coilpacks, afm, tps, the list goes on... Im sure you'll figure it out.
  6. hmmm... I'm just speaking from experience with the falkens, but maybe I got used to driving with them... as an L-plater... thats 9 years ago. hmm well as long as you dont spin out... I'm not here to tell you what is going to solve your problems, just telling you the wider rear tyres make spinning out in the wet more likely, as far as me I'll be fine... even with 'crap' tyres... If you blame tyres on spinning out then I guess you can blame other things too... maybe your car has a legit problem or.... there is this place... its called.... learntodrive.com I heard they have all the answers. ^^
  7. ok so even if you dont like the ziex tyres its rear tyre width... thats what makes cars slide in the wet... too much flat rubber and not enough channels for the water to run out of... 235/45/17's falkens for 4 years as a learner driver and never had those problems... if you dont believe me by some other top notch brand 265's put them on the rear and go do the same thing... preferably dont crash or hurt someone.
  8. and yes I get your point I was hoping to make a rally car out of an s13 or something cheap to thrash... and no the VL doesnt qualify as a rally car... hmmm got me thinking...
  9. here's mine... still unsure about selling it. I'm ubying my r33 back off my brother so will prob use gbox/engine in the gtst... will see.
  10. thanks. sucks about the no import for race only...
  11. WOW!!!!!!! What a bunch of PLICS! LoL ... can't believe this guy thanked you. run till eeeemmmmpppptyyyy lol You can> check trip meter> add 20L>check trip meter again to calculate fuel economy.(going off the guage line...) if the float tank in the changes every time then how can you guys know if your tanks empty? the needle drops below empty anyway... you are just saying hes not using the guage as a reference point and you are!? or everyone here is coughing and spluttering into the servo LoL... just run till dry. (sarcasm.) the bigger your tank is or the more fuel you put in the better your calculated avg fuel consumption will be. duh. your stock gtst shouldnt be using more than 12L per 100km, first get new spark plugs(std gap is fine don't be picky). do the coilpacks(silicon fix works a treat) and run seperate power cable to ignition module-little black box), check afm. throttle position sensor, 02(yours is new) etc... hows exhaust smoke colour? excessive smoke? idle smooth? you need some spanners and a multimeter... or a friend with some.. after that check(swap) ecu, injectors.... or just get it plugged into a dyno and have the stuff read for you... BTW can someone please tell me how to check my fuel economy? tripsteady seems to understand how to calculate fuel economy, but I dont yet, please someone tell me...
  12. master cylinder and slave cylinder working? if the clutch pedal goes to the floor one either might be stuffed or leak in hydraulic line...
  13. I've never driven an s14 or s15 only a 180 and that was years ago... Do the silvia's really have that much advantage in drift? I see a lot of 32's and 33's drifting round...
  14. you want turbo lag? buy one with a big turbo... - going to have a less smooth torque curve, not as good for drifting. either car with the right power will break traction in 2nd easier in a gtst I have a VL wagon in aus if you want to buy it and ship it to japan.
  15. bearing is correct way round? they look kinda backwards, I dunno if thatd change anything tho..
  16. falken Ziex tyres are fine... its the rear width... I was running 17' falken 235/45's and never a problem even when they were worn out... ---front tyres wore on the inside coz of camber then were switched to the back that said it had bilstein suspension, and always handled twice as good as stock susp. I liked to go sideways and in the wet it was pretty fun. - did hit some oily patches of road and they become dangerous(like every tire) wider rear tyres(265's) means less grip in the wet.... water cant get out of the tyre... 235's on the back would give you more grip in the wet. this is on r33 gtst, 3' exhaust.
  17. Hey, What has happened to the Japanese Import Scene? There was a lot of cheap s13's, 180's, 32's, gtst's that were being imported, where are they now? why don't ppl bring over a bunch just for drift cars? The cheapest s13's are going for 4g... thats auto ca18de with 100km on clock.(prob 200km) for the same price you can buy an r33 gtst.(in poor looks) where's the logic in that? and where are all those much loved drift cars with dents in every panel? they'd make a sick rally car.(don't ask about susp) If you have one I want it... so what do you think, why can't there be an import of 200 s13's/r32/r33s just for drift machines?
  18. yeah what like? all i can think of is radiator lower than the head...people never beld the cooling system properly therfore cracked heads. oh that and they are a crap car....(engine is fine but)
