  1. No hill climb for me. just the two track days.....Now I need to fix my gearbox and clutch ASAP! plus the cost of the trip.......ouch on the back pocket
  2. Dude for that reason, I will have to hook up a trailer for the both of us before then I will be in on this one guys
  3. Price went up early June. I called end of May and they were $412 fitted, then called late June $440 fitted. Something to do with the price of oil was what I was told. Great excuse for retailers if you ask me.
  4. Nah it doesn't matter what clutch you use with the gearset, but since I am after both clutch and synchros/gearset thought I'd ad the comment about Ben's clutch. Especially because there seems to be a little secrecy about it I'm with you dane. I'd love to get the gearset but don't think it'll happen
  5. My comment about Ben's clutch was more a question than a statement, hence the question mark at the end.
  6. Thats true, but apart fom the strength aspect of the OS gearset, the added respone you get from the closer ratios is awesome. I've seen a GTR with the trust gearset and that thing got from 1st to 3rd in no time
  7. But Ben is using "his own" style of clutch? OS gearset is the way to go.......if you have the cash.
  8. If we are Mexicans to you guys, then maybe NSW are Canadians to the Vic guys???? Aren't Canadians weird french guys, with small balls ????
  9. I missed out Hope there may be a spare XL or XXL left at the end
  10. Form my experiences the Blitz dual solinoid one are the best. The have the least boost spike and hold real well. AVCR is nice but a bit complicated.
  11. I agree Ray. It would be very costly towing the cars up. TNT sounds good:)
  12. Breaking gears due to excessive power and wearing a syncrho ring out are two differant things. As I have mentioned previously, I am considering an after market gearset not for the strength reason but for the better response the shorter ratios give .eg mines car has R33 diff and aftermarket gearset. As for Jim Berry, looks like he is the man by an overwhelming number. Thanks guys much appreciated.
  13. Cool will give Jim a call. As for the diff I have just fully rebuilt the rear so I won't be getting rid of that anytime soon Anyone run a short shifter in a GTR? What do you think of it for the track?
  14. Thanks for that. I will give him a call. Though I'm a bit reluctant to use another single plate... The Exeddy 3 puck I have was pretty hopless, slipped from day one. The reason I would like an aftermarket gearset is not the strength but the fact that they are closer ratios.
  15. No real budget as yet. Just trying to see what is good value for money. I haven't even decided which clutch to go for. Tossing up between OS twin or Exeddy Twin. I think I will most likely just replace synchros in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Was thinking of getting short shifter, but have heard bad stories.

    Gtr Gearbox?

Has anyone in Vic done any mods to their GTR gearbox? I busted 3rd synchro on the weekend and am trying to find out what is the best thing to do while I have the box out? Labour won't cost me so I will save there but I do need a clutch also, so buying a dog gearset is most likely out of the question, just too much $$$$ at once to spend. Has anyone heard of stronger aftermarket synchro's??? Where? Thanks.
  17. I had a great day. First time at Winton and andfirst time on a track for 2 years. Unfortunately my day was cut short with the loss of 3rd gear synchro Fanatstic time there Dane. I wias really impressed with your speed coming through the s onto the straight. I think Ray might need to get some wider tyres for more grip, otherwise there might be a new SR20 ontop.

    Wooohoooo!! Just got 323.4!!!!
  20. Come on guys! someone has to be running an after market diff centre in their GTR (R33 or R32). Anyone running a 1.5 way in the rear? What does it drive like compared to standard? handle any better?
  21. Thanks guy & gal! Just found Matts old post, called Donnellans Oakleigh and they matched Box Hill. Saves me the drive
  22. I'm looking at getting a set of RE55's in 265/35/18. What is the best price anyone has got so far and where from? Any complaints about the tyre? Cheers.
  23. Hey guys, Just wandering if anyone has used an aftermarket LSD in their GTR for the track? eg. 1.5 way in the rear? How does the car handle now compared to the orginal lsd? were any other mods needed to improve handling? Any feedback would be great as I want to get my GTR handling very predictable and am looking at a 1.5 way rear lsd to help traction in and out of corners, but have been in one with the 1.5 way and it was extremely taily. Cheers.
  24. Aaron, I know you said ONLY TE37's but I have a Enkei NTO3's which are 18x10 and am willing to swap if they will fit you car? My brakes are 6 pot AP's with 366mm discs and they fit with ease. Let me know if you are interested?
