  1. Oh yeah that's funny in the f&f, "Danger to manifold" = floorpan falls out???? :
  2. Or a car with substantial rwhp
  3. Just read the first page of this, very sorry to hear about it. Is Drew okay?? RIP to the man who died, seems a bad accident that probably shouldn't have happened at all.....
  4. ^ The general answer would be yes, but all performance cars are on the rich side to be safe. From just one personal experience where I seen it first hand, I was behind Topaz when he put his foot down & he blew black smoke, I did as well and in my rear view I seen it as well (not letting a gtr get away easily now ). If black smoke is coming out under normal acceleration, then you worry but otherwise for the type of car it's normal.
  5. I get usually anywhere from 380-420k's to a tank, fill up around 3 times a fortnight, mostly freeway driving, but still quite good regardless for a 350rwhp car. 320ks has been my lowest ever tank because it involved 2 cruises & 3 days.
  6. When I seen the title of this thread I thought it meant you Ramis, good to see your okay but I'm sorry about your cousin J R32 people die in every make and model of car, it's no point to take this one personally.
  7. Isn't it ironic that you have only joined up here this week, are an l-plater, go around to your girlfriends "bros" house for some drinks, in BALGA, with an uninsured car, and this R31 just happens to have a t88 turbo with extras????
  8. Dude chill the f**k out, shit costs money but if the car has been maintained well logically you shouldn't have as many problems. Keep posting shit like you are at the moment it won't be long before your banned from here.
  9. I got my timing belt & water pump done last week, Ken said to check the coolant level the next morning to make sure there was enough in there even though they do bleed it out. The reservoir was almost empty, so I filled it up again. Checked it again the next day and the coolant was right down again, filled it up again & now it's fine. Do you have enough coolant & it's still overheating?
  10. <stretches> Gary Glitter & Michael Jackson are sitting on a park bench when a 8 year old girl walks past with her family. Gary leans over to Michael & says, "Shit, she must have been good back in her day yeah?" <legs it>
  11. Oh you bad bastard Hope I'm not the only one to be fooled by the title & first paragraph, that would have been awful.......my mum had a stillborn baby just over a year before me, which is why my parents had me, I thought it would be one of those threads. Congratulations anyway mate, first time parents I guess??
  12. I think the bigger picture is being missed, by all accounts Matt has done nothing at all wrong, been pulled over for nothing, and defected for something which honestly isn't a big deal. Most days (including today) I see these various things: * Damaged vehicles with parts hanging off unsecured (namely bumpers & side mirrors, now tell me that isn't dangerous) * Bald tyres * Cars with excessive EXTERIOR rust, can you imagine what it's like underneath???? * Cars with black smoke continuously coming from the exhaust * Cars who's engine you hear at traffic lights that sound like something is either going to fall off or explode Now the thing that sucks, I would guess 8 times out of 10 an import is driving down the steet alongside a 20 year old unmaintained car, the import would be pulled over. Our cars have bigger & better brakes, are serviced regularly, use quality products for modifcations & are generally better kept than most cars on the road. But does this help when it comes to visiting friends or going to work? NO. I have been pulled over only twice in just under a year, the first time for going through a roundabout (if you could call it that) at 50, was a traffic cop at about 9:30pm & he was generally good to me. He asked if my fmic was standard or a/m, when I said a/m he asked for the permit. I said I had none, he got me to pop the bonnet & was greeted with stainless steel piping, hi-mount turbo etc etc but he wasn't too concerned. He just told me to take is easier around them because some idiot coming the other way might not look & because was travelling a bit quick it could ruin a nice car. I had no problem with that, the 2nd one I did. I was heading home at about 11pm on a Tuesday night from sor, and where the Kwinana links with the Mitchell was closed for roadworks. Having never gone where the detour was I missed the tunnel exit which I would have been fine in, but as a result just went through Northbridge. I came up to a set of light where the was 4 cars turning right, the 4th was a marked police car. When it went green I took off as normal, and then noticed the cop decided not to turn right. About 100m down the road we got to a red light with him behind me, then not long after here the lights went on & I pulled over. "Random breath test & license check" he said, both were no problem while his partner circled the car with his torch. He gave me my license back & that was it, but just both in the general body language & attitude told me I would have had an inspection if where I pulled over didn't mean their car was still mostly in the way of other cars. This pissed me off because he was turning right and when he seen a skyline roll past him, all of a sudden I was "random". For the record I don't have problems with cops & I hopefully never will, but there are ones out there that aren't worthy of the uniform. There's a nice long one for ya
  13. I thought that's the point of warrants? Of course they can say that's what they're thinking, but you're not going anywhere so even if you are hiding something they would find it later. I'm just saying that for if there was already a yellow, coz what they did to Matt is bullshit. It's only a convenience thing that you allow them to search you're car, because if you just let them do it it will make things quicker. Either they will let you go with little fuss or give you a yellow. But if you tell them they need a warrant you are 100% going home with a yellow because you were a c**t to them. I've only had one inspection and that was only the engine, but if he had of gone inside my car without permission, even though I have nothing to hide, I would have told him to get out. He's not stealing any of my gummi bears.
  14. Cops aren't allowed to look in the places you mentioned though without permission or a warrant yeah?? If I had a yellow I'd tell them to get one & waste their time because there's nothing else they could get you on.
  15. A lot easier to lose it as well, and it's much slower. The first drift comp was wet & when people lost it they spun out from the wet surface, the last one was dry & when they lost it it was because of going too hard Much better in the dry, half the fun is seeing the smoke produced!!!
  16. The thing with kits is that it might make the car lower than the limit so it will be changed, and with front bars most use different indicators so that will be switched too. I've seen a 33 ready for compliance that was a light pink sort of colour, with black sideskirts & a white spoiler, obviously these people know it's got a kit..... As for the original question, it's all got to be stock. Suspension, steering wheel, air filter, you name it. Even with compliance you might get an identical car for a lower price, but you have to be willing to wait a few months to get it instead of a couple of days so that's where you're choice comes in. There more modified the car, the longer the wait.
  17. Hey all, it's only happened recently a couple of times & I thought I'd better make sure it's nothing out of the ordinary.... Every time I drive my car it is idling for a couple of minutes, and then when I drive off it's all slowly & changing before 3000rpm until the running temp is where it should be & the oil pressure has equalised to it's usual just under 4kg/cm before opening it up too much. Last week I was on my way to work doing 80 in 5th, then put it into 4th to speed up a bit quicker & it backfired a couple of times & there seemed to be no response with acceleration because of it. Then tonight I probably pushed it a little bit too hard in 2nd than I usually would at this time, and it let off 2 massive backfires one after the other (got the nice smoke thing happening too but was no different than going into 3rd for some chop). The reason I think it may be something to do with the oil pressure is that it only does it not long after its been started & it's still cold. If I've been driving for 10-15mins I can have my way with it like Rosie O'Donnell with a cupcake, but I can't seem to find why it does this when it's still a bit cold. Has anyone had a similar experience or can explain what's happening here?? Don't know if more info is required but the engine is stock with usual mods (big hi mount), and if it's anything to do with timing it may be because of the timing belt which is just shy of 99000kms & is getting done on Tuesday. But I'm thinking if the belt is slightly on it's way out I would have more problems then just an occasional backfire not long after start up........... Cheers
  18. With a fmic & standard turbo the general accepted boost is about 12psi to make sure it all stays alive, but if you are going to put it up I would suggest you do it with an ebc so that you can put it down easily too. Some people go to even about 14psi but that's pushing it. With what sounds a fairly standard car 10psi is still alright though.
  19. HAPPY 21'ST!!! Have a good day Lauren.
  20. 32 degrees? Jevus..............
  21. Do you still have the big wing on it? I've only ever had one person try to drag me, and that was a VN last week!! Chop was dished of course. A couple have tried to run me on the freeway....chop dished. Then I remain at the limit, look over as they pass & they are looking straight ahead. All I suggest is don't bite. Drags aren't for the street.
  22. Don't know if it's too late, but with my kit I got a t-piece & a hose about 3ft long, just get someone who know's about this to show you what line to cut, whack in the t-piece & run it back. The pic shows where mine ran from which is what you're asking about. I think the line in question is something to do with the factory boost controller. For the record this is when my car didn't have 350rwhp.
  23. Just Cars dude, and considering it's also non-turbo there is also a chance they will insure you for less than that. The excess will be extreme however. That sucks though, did they give you a reason why a safc can't be listed?
  24. People who can't merge properly, can't change lanes properly, can't negotiate roundabouts properly, can't indicate properly, people on the freeway who can't do the speed limit, and people who don't indicate when turning right at an intersection with no filter lane until they are in the middle of the intersection. So yeah, most of Perth.
  25. It's not the price of petrol that pisses me off on it's own, it's the fact that fuel at BP is ALWAYS more expensive than anywhere else, and there is a refinery in WA!!! I only go there (Like probably almost all of us) because we don't have a choice, and we're never going to win. Fuel is $2 a litre then I have to pay that because I need my car, it's not like I'm going to say "No, I'm not buying petrol, that will show them". Right now the Aussie dollar is fairly strong, a few weeks ago a weak aussie dollar was part of an excuse for the price of petrol, now it's doing nothing for us & it's not mentioned. But you know what really grinds my gears? Not putting the clutch in fully.
