  14. what our car is legal!! it's lightly modded! haha yeah looks like we will miss wakefield on the 7th as suspension wont get here till the 4/5th! but will will keep the deadline anyway as is it booked in for dyno tune on tuesday. fineline i hope to have it a QR before japan , i will have to see what's on once it's running(more likely to be a wednesday test at morgan park) and thanks matty , i will know how much stuff we have to do later this week cheers russ hey 88silhouette have i drunk piss with you at wakefield ??
  15. hi mate if you have done a few events , you will love having a full track car, just try to make sure you know what you want.! our car started off as a road car with a bit of weekend fun. now it is basically a registered track car rally car! cant use it on the roads anymore. also as others have said if you can do without it during the week it's a lot less stress when something breaks or you have an incident at the track! rather tracking you everday road car. as far as duttons go, they are great but can get expensive trying to do more than one( but great fun:) ) sprints . hillclimbs, circuit club meets all a blast and fairly cheap. with sponsors it is hard but some mileage can be had from events like the dutton because of the good media coverage. results always help too and a good approach toward what you can achieve for the sponsor. some of the most fun i have had , have also been the cheapest events i have entered. and met some really good people along the way. cheers russ
  16. i am getting them made through hi octane, if i havent recieved them yet so i dont have a price. if you ring hi octane racing in sydney they may line a set up for you, i think they only have a pattern for the door windows so far. i do know you can buy a gtr lexan kit from ikeya formula. cheers russ
  17. thanks forthe offer mate! i will talk to you before the weekend when we know what bits we have. if we get the stuff we are waiting on then a hand would be great. speak soon russ
  18. funny you should say that !! as thats what i though as i am a fat barstard probably will need a removeable wheel. and we have exactly nine days left to finish it , to get to the test day a wakefield list of whats left! paint exterior refit glass paint fit new doors and lexan windows(not here yet!) fit bonnet latches (flush type) refit dash around cage and seats etc fit new suspension (not here yet) wheel alignment wire new radiator fans and run oil cooler lines make intercooler pipe fit hypertune six throttle body manifold dyno tune engine and test dry sump setup hmmm bit of a tight schedule oh well who needs sleep cheers russ
  19. hi guys well cage is in and car is painted inside!! and outside is being prepped and painted now, should be painted tomorrow. all that in a week and a bit!! will keep ya updated cheers russ
  20. hey mate its pretty hard at work at the moment, lots to do!! mark is working non stop on it after work every night and all weekend, and things dont always go as planned as you know. r33_racer as far as testing the dry sump setup , there are so many dry setup combinations , that if you get it wrong it will go bang, i have seen many engines with dry sumps shit the engine till they got the setup right. (if you had no issues when you put yours together you did very well), that even comes down to how well the pump is mounted and aligned ,let alone crank vacum pressure and line syphoning and a myriad of other things. cheers russ
  21. haha i thought you might like that!! seeya soon
  22. hey thanks for the cool link, hopefully we are out there again soon cheers russ
  23. hey mate sound like your pretty close too!! i reckon thats i good idea sticking the dry sump on his car first to make sure it works!!! hehe :laughing-smiley-014: i will let ya know for sure, it will be blast!! thanks for your help too! cheers russ seeya soon
  24. hi gents! thanks for the support with Japan! i hope all goes well , BTW Mark will be driving over there ( i will be having a run but he will be doing the time attack) also i will try and keep you upto date with whats happening down the track, we have purchased an r34 gtr to be setup for time attack for next year(for Japan) and hoperfully give it a real push!! it will be an awsome machine(should be hear in about 8 weeks) it will completely stripped, full cage, carbon panels & dash, holinger, huge brakes (v8 super car spec), & light weight and minimum 850 horsepower! engine will be gt block full dry sump, low mount turbos, full counter weight crank (2.6) spinning to 9000. fineline , i hope we get it out to qr soon for a test ( a lot to do though!! ) "I hope we get to see a couple of shakedown runs before it heads over. Go the Aussies! " My intention is to get an Australian flag on the car , are you guys keen on the aussie flag on the roof?? I'll give ya a quick run down on latest details for our gtr r32 going over in six weeks or so, ( also dont want to get into any timing arguments but that clubman circuit time was set along time ago and the car has come along considerably since then) we are using wakefield as the test track as we know it pretty well and are hoping to around 1.02 on semi's , mark has done 1.04:1 here so we will see the car is getting a full cage at the moment and should be finished tomorrow (anyone want to by at bolt in cage that came out of it? andra approved) painted next week 4 stage dry sump is in and ready for testing new rims 10.5 inch te37's and 285 rubber! soft and mediums ( we always have run hards in the past because thats all the lasts on duttons) swedish ohlins suspension (to replace absolutely standard aussie spec tiens) we have lightened the car by over 100kg!!! but cage will add 30kg final weight should be about 1350 kg carbon doors , passenger seat gone, roof and rear interior trim gone, all seat belts gone , all uneeded wiring gone, holinger transmission with flatshift ( this is not guaranteed yet) trust diff covers hypertune 6 throttle body inlet manifold once the car has had an intial test with the new dry sump setup, to ensure all is okay the new engine will be fitted gt block tomei full counter crank and rods mahle pistons with an 8800 to 9000 rpm limit!! all this has to be done in the next six weeks ! anyway i hope some of that is interesting and i hope we can go over there and get amongst it, i am sure it will be fantastic fun and hopefully can get a decent result( i would like to hope for a top 10 result and anything under a 57/58 second lap hehe) cheers russ btw went to Japan 4 weeks ago for the first time!! loved it, and was lucky enough to go through the tomei powered business which was fantastic! plenty of derive and genisis engines very very nice !
