30 mins was for the heater core, evaporator and fan motor but i do it for a living being a auto elec so perhaps my apprenticeship has finally paid off for timewise on jobs?
-
Well , as a few people know my heater core died on GOR cruise and well because ive been to busy up till yeste i never did any thing about it (Plus i was dredding removing dash) but upon closer inspection i relised that nissan engineer brillant cars and to my suprise i had the blower motor , a/c evapourator and heater core out in 30 mins woohoo.also this job was very easy beacause my a/c was degassed. now my dilema now is that i need a replacement heater core and i dont want to be buyin one from my nissan dealer because they want $341 trade which im not prepared to pay reason for A/c being degassed is that is my a/c compressor died in the ass as well. i was hoping some one could point me in the way of a second hand compressor and a new heater core for my line. cheers in adance P.S i will take re- assemble Photos for all because this is such an easy job for all Especially if It is the O-Rings leaking on your heater core Car is A R33 series 1.5 1995 cheers

we use bearing grease just plain old bearing grease on the gear set off the reduction although your noise sounds like drive slippage on the starter which is cheaper and less troublesome to replace instead of trying to rebuild i very much doubt greasing will fix your problem but unless i hear noise i could be mistaken
-
of the top of my head you need 14mm ring or open ended spanner for the housing bolts 12mm or 13mm for the battery terminal on the starter motor its located under the intake manifold on the drivers side its a piece of piss now why are you removing starter whats wrong with it?? why do you need to clean and grease it ?? i would just buy a new cheep nock off starer comes with two year warranty for 100 bucks

i might add a note when checking for tacho pulse it is important to use a led test light as these do not draw any current in which could harm igniter or ecu if you use a lighht bulb test light it could over load the circuitry causing failure just my two cents
-
i usually clock my car j/k then get rid of the left over drips with a chamois lol hehe chamois all the way!!

im sorry but i have to mention this i loath coloured wiring alarms it just helps me disconect them ( Im a Auto Elec) if you want a decent alarm go with something with all black wiring and has stickers on the loom that you remove making it hard to identify wiring but as mentioned before it all comes down to the install cheap & dodgy install = stolen car someone who takes time to fit alarm and immobilse circuits that cant be bypassed with a screw driver or length of wire = one happy customer with there car still just my two cents
-

well im not tryin to start any thing but people who would drive in a situation where there is potentional injury wouldnt go flat out its just common sense thats what im getting at i spent all this weekend working around these people and they do not im my opinion care for othe people would you do burnout with people sitting behind you so they can be showered in rubber no! thats what im getting at becaues thats what i saw them doin
-
i know for a fact that the capa crew only got the thumbs up from work cover and insurance because when they were demonstraiting what they would be doing they were only doing it in 3rd gear and i know from the horses mouth being bolger! that he was in 6th gear in the monaro coupe and he was saying it was hooking up on the gravel in my opinion its totally the drivers fault not capas has any one actually met the drivers here like i know they can drive but they are not a caring bunch for others (first hand experience) just my two cents i saw all this happen from the grand stand on sat night and from the first lap when the black ute spun out i knew something was going to happen
-

im tippin a broken wire to the aerial most aerials require two positives to it one comes on with the key and the other comes on with the radio this is what makes the aerial go up an down when the power is removed i would check that first also i would check the connections most wiring dramas are at dodgy twisted to gether wires at the back of the head unit cheers
-
it only gets tricky when there are way tomany things that run off the battery whilst the key is off ie computers, relays, globes, timers, cdplayers, cbs brake unit then all you can do is do a process of elimantion with a current meter thats after you have established alt and battery are fine
-
i can get you one im just not 100% if it will fit so if it doens im stuck wit a alt
-
yeh it is stupid size has nothing to do with it its a current draw more than likely all i fuse does is continue the current to where it has to go sorry to be blunt though
-
paul is that vl one from repco a bosch one or hitachi cos i would def go the bosch much better alt

if you mean led for alternator warning light then no you cannot use because it will not pass throught the fillament down to the alternator regulator to excite it ie cause it to charge led's are great for lighting but not for warning lights because in some cases the globe will need to work both ways and with led's they are a diode so they only work one way in most cases thats my two cents ive had led dash lights and no plate lights fro two years no dramas at all
