  1. Hey Guys There is a helpdesk job going at my work, you should have an interest in IT with knowledge in Microsoft OS/Office and preferably UNIX skills. Don't worry too much about having the UNIX skills as they will be taught on the job. This is a great entry level position if you want to get into IT. The company I work for has alot of cutting edge technologies that you will work with. The role will involve shift work as the helpdesk runs 24/7. Its a 4 days on 4 days off rotation - 10hr shifts. The environment is very focused on working in a team, so you must have excellent team work skills. If you want more details - ie the company (I cant say the company name as this is not an approved Advertisment... most of you know who I work for), how to apply etc please PM me with your email address and I will send you them. You will need to apply ASAP and they need someone urgently. thanks Liz
  2. You need at least 20
  3. Scruitneering is from 5pm and racing from 6pm. You just have to get there before 8.00pm or before they get 160 competitors.
  4. Your commission is bragging rights Damon
  5. Topaz - it can be open faced but has to meet Australian Safety standards (AS 1698, Snell SA90, BS6658-85) - so no yellow stack hats. Also - keep it on topic guys. We dont want to have to sift though conversation about dyno runs to find out who actually wants to come.
  6. Sounds like there will be more girls than guys!
  7. Yellow isnt the most readable colour Topaz.... so I changed it to black
  8. Ok - well Damon makes a good point - no ultimate. So we should wait till that starts flowing again before we organise it. Being in the hotter months doesnt matter too much as the sea breeze keeps the Plex cool in the evening anyway.
  9. OK - we can have and SAUWA lane if we have a minimum of 20 cars attend. So unless enough interest is shown in this thread we wont go ahead with it - and we dont want people saying "yeah I'll go" then not show up, not give us the numbers and cause an inconvenience for the club, the plex and the people that showed up. Some links to look at, the second one is a guide to drag racing for first timers. Worth a read if you're unsure. http://www.motorplex.com.au/ http://www.motorplex.com.au/how_to_go_dragracing/index.html If we go ahead, would people rather this after xmas/new year or before?
  10. I will make some enquiries and get back to you all
  11. Usually someone just makes a post about all going to kwinana and then we all go. If there is plenty of interest we can ask for our own lane at the plex.
  12. Hey Guys Those people who attended the SAUWA dyno day a few months back might remember Rick being there taking a few pics... well now they are in the latest HPI magazine!! Make sure you buy a copy and have a look! Thanks Jarrad (Butler) for letting me know! And thanks Rick for taking the pics and getting them in the mag! Cheers, Liz
  13. Read this - A few examples of Rousey from the RICE forums. Good spot ossie!! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=92305
  14. Hey has anyone read the the article from the editor in the ITM newsletter. How is the bit that I highlighted. ----------------------------------------------------- From the Ed... How often does hype lead to unrealistic expectations and ultimately disappointment? More importantly, when has an act for you lived up to the hype stacked upon them? Last weekend I decided to check out John Digweed for the first time. The man needs little by way of introductions; he's a rare breed who enjoys critical and popular acclaim in equal measures. I'd been promised by so many there was no chance of disappointment, that he'd blow me away and keep my interest piqued for the three hours he was in charge. From all I'd read and heard I was sure his set would be up my musical alley. To maximise enjoyment and recollection potential I napped before the gig, hardly drank and ensured I had an excellent vantage point in the venue. However after an enjoyably awakening first hour I found the attention waning, the hands continually grabbing for the wallet to buy a drink and before the next hour was over found myself leaving early, bored and tired. Each to their own and from what I heard there were plenty of people who loved the same set from beginning to end. It's certainly no discredit to John Digweed, full respect to him for what he's achieved. However it highlighted the power of the mind and the damning nature of expectations. Do such lofty hopes for an evening lead to certain disappointment? I ask again, when has an act for you lived up to the hype stacked upon them? -- nojman ----------------------------------------------------------- Maybe it should read (courtesy of my sarcastic work mate - but funny as hell) "I ate a sizely dinner (so that my acohol tolerance elevated), and then proceeded to have a light nap (that my mother woke me up from at five minutes to twelve) so that she would have ample time to drop me at the local park and ride so I could catch the 114 into the city. In all fairness to Mr Digweed, my flask of hot coco wasn't a hot as I like it and mum forgot to put the sugar in it so it was a little bitter which really effected my ability to pay attention. Also a strange, wild eyed youngster, roughly 20 years of age kept asking me "how is your night" and "what have you taken?" I am still at a loss as to explain what he meant by taken but if you have any idea as the nature of his line of questioning, please email me, [email protected]"

    Any Cruises?

You just need to keep checking the events area of this forum and others such as antilag.com. SAUWA will be planning another cruise shortly.
  19. Hey everyone Well the cup race is less than an hour from start...... did anyone place any bets? I put $5 each way on Makybe Diva as the fave, Leica Falcon as an outside tip and Strasbourg as another outsider with long odds.... he's a Bart Cummings horse who has won at similar distances ..so I reckon he's in with a chance!! I drew a nag in the work sweepstakes though... some horse called KindJhal with $108 for a win Good luck everyone!!!! Liz
  20. Hey Everyone Gregg Holden from Import Scene has emailed me the following offer on Spitfire Guages. Import scene is a sponsor of SAUWA and this offer is open to anyone. So please support the companies that support our club!! I thought you may be interested to know that we have decided to quit all our Splitfire gauges and related accessories. To clear these quickly we have listed all of our Splitfire stocks starting at below cost on our own free to use auction site. You can see more details of this special one-off clearance by going to our home page at http://www.importscene.com.au Clearing stock at below cost isn't something that happens every day so if you've been thinking about getting a Splitfire gauge or two then now is the ideal time to get what you want at the lowest price anywhere. Also don't forget that during this promotion our auction site will receive a dramatic increase in hits over the next week. So even if you are not interested in the gauge clearance it would be an ideal time to post up your own items that you may want to sell. It's completely free to do so! Full details of how to post your own auction items for free is at http://www.sellitfast.com.au Either way, grab a bargain or sell some of your automotive stuff for free. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me. Gregg Holden [email protected]
  21. UGH - why is this afternoon going SOOOO SLOOOWWWWW. Only 30mins left of the day! Then tonight is party time!
  22. Are you going Adam?
  23. I like how he actually went to the extreme and effort of photoshopping a drag photo NOT from the drags in WA and pretending it was him. I picture this guy as the sort of person who would phuck a watermelon then act like he lost his virginity.
  24. This is some funny shit...... we need a token SAU clown too!
  25. Or Planet Video in Mt Lawley. Or get there early on the night and buy on the door
