Should be back on soon, just spent the last hour or so cleaning the gallery up. Not sure what form it will be in though, PranK is talking about stonger restrictions, possibly even putting the photos up through him. Shall wait and see.

YEP. Whiteline has a front strut brace for the 33 not sure about the rear one though.

Who has bought or sold a skyline in 2003
jlnewton replied to Dominic's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You definately get what you pay for. I paid $23k for my gtst over two years ago now and after getting it people were telling me I could have gotten one much cheaper than that, you were ripped. But after parking mine beside theirs, and getting inside theirs, they are two vastly different cars. Those cheaper cars have definately had a hard life, and while they have been constantly in and out of the mechanics, I have only had one problem with mine and that was a leaking crank case seal. Not bad for over 2yrs, 55000km, incl, willowbank, Queensland Raceway and the skidpan days. Definately worth every cent. I just hope my next purchase is as good. -
You would have to be pretty bored. Would be good if the only people who could edit your photos, are you and the moderators. Still wouldn't stop bored souls posting rubbish though and as the gallery grows, it may become a problem keeping track of it all. It will be a damn shame if stronger restrictions then that have to be put in place.

I have been doing a little research lately to land a 96/97 R33 GTR V-spec, Gr 4-5, interior grade A or B, complied, all taxes/duties, rego, tyres blah blah, seems to be around $45-50k give or take a few. EDIT: price Damn RAWS! -
That was a little dissapointing. Its like being back at school really, a few ruin it for the rest. I feel like I am 10 again. Oh well, I am sure the gallery will be closed shortly. Probably should make it that only moderators can post in there.

Just post the pictures in the albums yourself if you want. I am pretty sure anyone can add to them. I just put up all the ones I had downloaded previously. Takes soooo long, damn phone line connections. R34 V-spec pics are ALWAYS welcome!

Adjustable Caster Rods
jlnewton replied to Clint32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Caster rod/ Radius rod/ Tension Rod all the same thing. Gives you the ability to adust the amount of caster you want plus remove the play associated with the factory silicone filled bushes, they give great steering feel. And these are at a good price. -
I have had the last three days off work due to the weather and have become increasingly bored. I have gone into the gallery and started a number of albums for the recent events I have been in as well as in the QLD members section. Last time I went to use the gallery some time ago it didn't work but now everything seems sweet. So if anyone has some extra pics from the events that I have already posted feel free to add them plus any other events you may have pics of. Plus add your ride in the members section, everyone know the best lines are in QLD! I was the first person to add anything for the QLD chapter, I can't have been that bored!

I have started an album in the Gallery under the QLD events section if everyone want to add the pics there.

Yeah I can confirm that cops do run man the speed cameras. My last speeding ticket was given to me by a 'mobile' speed camera van. He took offence to me overtaking him on the Centenary Hwy, pulled me over, and proceeded to manually write out a speeding ticket. Very uncool. It not everyday you get pulled over by a Mitsubishi Express Van!

Lack of Skyline for sale lately
jlnewton replied to knore's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I had a quick look around at the local import yards yesterday as I had a day off due to the weather. There really wasn't much on offer. I bought mine over two year ago now (94 R33) for $23K which I though in hindsight was a bit much, but when looking around yesterday it looked like a good price. I saw a few with $25k+ on them that were very rough. Obvious accident damage, missing nearly all the boot trim, just very ordinary condition in general. I would hate to be in the market at the moment in the Brisbane area. I should be selling mine around March/April, should be interesting. -
I could be in, not a definate at the moment though.

Skyline imports up here in Queensland got a GTT and fitted GTR guard front and rear, front bar and a vented fiberglass bonnet. Looked pretty nice, I still see it all the time driveing down the Hwy. It was fetured in a early HPI mag can't remember which one. Can't be cheap to do though, the pricetage on the car was pretty outrageous.

I though I heard someone say that a s15 towbar fits a R33? Could be mistaken.

not having front number plate. legal or illegal?
jlnewton replied to Bassit's topic in General Maintenance
Last time I drove to sydney I lost my front number plate about Grafton (I think) and didn't notice till I arrived in Sydney. After about 2 hrs in Sydney I was pulled over and given the third degree. They very nearly booked me as they didn't like my story. Came back to Qld and waited for my new plates for a week and no even looked sideways at me. Either I am very unlucky or they are very tough on that sort of thing in Sydney. -
Oil Catch Can Kit Update!!
jlnewton replied to GT-spec15's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)

Toyo Trampios R1R - Hybrid RSpec/Street tyre
jlnewton replied to franks's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hornibrook Motorsport sells them. He was handing out flyers last time out at Queensland Raceway. His business is pretty new so he would probably do you a good deal. I am going to give him a call when I next need tyres, he speciality is R-spec tyres so he seems to know his stuff. He is a mad keen motorkana man too so he speaks from experience. Unit 1, 5 Basalt St Geebung. 07 38651072. Let us know how you get along, like I said haven't bought anything off him yet, haven't needed to, but he seemed good. -
There are some pics of mine here, they are not that good though. Hard to get pics back there and the tint is too dark to go through the glass. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=15486

I have an o2 Rush race pod on mine. As RedLineGTR said, just take the foam filter off and wash it bucket of water with a light detergent. After giving it a good wash, rinse very thoroughly under the tap and let to dry. I usually put mine near a fan to speed up the process a bit, don't use heat as you may damage the foam. Then 'lightly' re oil using a suitable air filter oil such as K&N or unifilter, they come in an spray can. Don't over oil, if you do you will have lots of problems with your AFM. Should be as good as new when finished. Can't stress enough though, don't over oil. They are an oiled filter, they recommend using the finerfilter 'supertacky fluid' but I have never been able to get a hold of it, and was told recently that the finerfilter name had been taken over by unifilter. I use the K&N one and I have never had any problems.

Does anyone have any pics?? Most of mine turned out pretty bad, especially the night ones.

Mine will be up for sale around Feb/March/April. Some info & pics here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=27270

Dilemma - GTST -> GTR: A natural progression?
jlnewton replied to Kutter's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I am doing the upgrade soon, probably early next year depending on what is around. I have had my GTST for about 2 year now and have had great fun taking it to the track and down the quarter. I have only done minimal mods, mainly suspension/brakes. Anyway I sold a property recently and am still waiting on settlement, so I had the choice of modding the GTST in search of more HP or get a GTR. I am going the GTR simply because I have always wanted one and believe that it is a better base package to start with. Just to get my GTST to GTR level on the track would end up costing me more than the outlay for a GTR in the first place, as it is I am less than 10k short of one now and have a long way to go to match one at the track. That being said, if I had not have had this windfall I would never have even thought of getting a GTR and would have continued modding the GTST and spent that money over 3yrs in the process, and would would have had a great time doing it aswell. All depends on the current situation you find yourself in I think. And I thought to myself, if I don't do it now I will never do it and will probably regret it
