  1. yeah i can vouch for the Stagea working well with poncams (non-neo) simply feels like a 3litre. upgrading my turbo right atm, my slide highflow is off and putting a GT3071r on
  2. so, the turbo is ok to sell. best offer gets it found another source - bongo, fmic pipe, original nissan ribbed black rubber pipe that sat in the chassis hole (in/out engine bay) was splitting replacing and making good now waiting on new oil line and GT30 then reinstalling
  3. 1977 Toyota Celica 'mustang' fastback with SR20 or RB20 or 1967 VW Type-3 wagon, porsche spec
  4. dude thats schmick my end, they are making me a GT30 at ATS (marion rd) new lines gaskets etc. ball bearing fast response, ported rb housings, flow-tested to 270kw will get that bolt her on fix everything up and be up for a cruise in a week or so
  5. http://www.modyourcar.com.au/rb-nissan-spe...ing-turbo-p5224 gt3071r or a gt3076r 6-bolt nissan Rb exhaust housing $2150 plus lines getting that sort of deal thru ATS, gave them the $300 worth of gear Id paid for (ceramic ball bearing pack, turbine shaft td05h & 16g.comp.wheel, 2x dead cores and jamesrb25's front/rear housing) they've take that as the bb-pack and wheels were bnib, credited, and building the GT30r for me with oil line & waterline adapter 2k
  6. http://www.modyourcar.com.au/rb-nissan-spe...ing-turbo-p5224 gt3071r or 76r 6-bolt exhaust housing $2150 plus lines
  7. lol I have no idea - was tight tight so maybe a pothole? was all fine until trying to reach boost up expressway hill friday night, couldnt hold 0 psi without the car surging, turbo working on load and black oily smoke so its split, oil is blowing thru the split onto the outside of the turbo (the leak i found) and forcing some excessive oil thru the exhaust turbine so it ends up that the slide turbo is ok, but Ive ordered a new line set and a gt30 went over the intercooler pipes and they are 100% perfect, good tight seals and wont leak on 1bar
  8. decided not to go twin due to the costs but quite simple twin turbo of the same-size would only require the custom top mount manifold you could run internal or external wastegate and plumb the front dump into the rear dump. same for air intake and intercooler intake - use two Y pipes to join the 2into1 $400 usd for rb25 twin manifold with or without wastegate pipe twin hks gt2530's would be 2grand second hand, and the pipe work (3x Y bends for intake and exhaust to go 2-into-1) would be say $500 for custom work decided to give my turbo gear to ATS Adelaide Turbo Services, that was a highflow, plus housings plus new 16g/td05h wheels, new bb pack, etc they are crediting me for the parts as they can stock & resell, making me new lines and a GT3071r garrett ball bearing with nissan 6bolt exhaust housing for 2k
  9. went and had a good chat to bill at ATS, marion rd. took him the turbo he went right over it told him the symptoms, after 4yrs the turbo could do with a freshen up but at this stage its all intact just 'used' got a price for rebuild my highflow, and a price to take it all and give me a GT3071 so... arranged to upgrade to a GT30r 3071r with 6bolt nissan-RB outlet, new lines but then there is this hmmmm - thats the current line, split right thru. that'd cause some oil supply issues ? oil has definately gone thru the turbo and been burnt to a light powder, thick deposits thru the dump, black oily smoke, surging etc it isnt the engine as such, piston rings are fine and spark plugs are all whitish from fuel no sign of oil anyway, gave ATS my bag of turbos and new td05h/16g + ball bearing, he's discounting it all for a new GT30 so thats that now to make up a better hardpipe set to/from the intercooler - but yeah no splits there as is.
  10. yeah and thats why, with the mods Ive done or am doing, mine is a keeper over the long term (15yrs) so while it may have 45k eventually on it in receipts (incl original 18k cost) its like its 3k per yr, in a sense, making it affordable to 'GTR' spec a stagea over the long term....
  11. not sure, there are signs on the turbo of excessive bearing noise and play, front wheel is just starting to hit the comp.housing inlet bore going to get a price for a basic rebuild kit for this one and a price to highflow stock housings I have with gt2871 & stock r33 core plus bb pack and wheels - give em 1 turbo + parts for another and get two new ones back =) also will go over the piping eveywhere for the inlet charge and see whats going on, probably get a metal one made up (welded) while we are at it instead of using 5 silicone joiners go for one hard return pipe at the back of the fmic going up towards the throttle body and that will get rid of 3 joiners
  12. Mines GTR 1999 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1999-Nissan-Skyline...%3A1|240%3A1318 90k
  13. hey pal! got the turbo off in my hands now pretty good nick, sure its inside tho..... one of the shaft seals. getting prices later on and yeah going to buy a oil catch can setup as well

  15. keep the back one, sell the silver one for 9-10k, sell a bike or two wagons are good for space (you seem to do a fair bit in life rueben) and eventually hopefully a buba`kiddling comes along
  16. LOL cheers found $20 in coins lol so going to pop down to an auto store to grab one cheers anyways yeah Im down morphett vale way 5162 so a bit of a drive, my cars out of commission and the wifes car is too small to drive comfy and safe when Im in pain like today tis all good oi, if anyone ever offers to takeout your kneecaps fkn run man, kick em in the nuts and hoik the fk outa there !
  17. $220 on a JJR dump front pipe stainless steel, 4yrs ago now perfect perfect condition was coked full of fresh burnt powdery oil residue, so I poured 100ml kerosene in both ends of the pipe and whola. clean and new but I need a 24mm socket !!!
  18. hell the JJR dump / front pipe is 100x better than that pos grrr id be pissed if i was you ey man I need a 24m socket but cant afford to buy one LOL and oh boy, oh boy, knees, my legs are putrid. cant sit cant stand and walk around, crazy pain. sigh
  19. you guys are bastards so envious man, Ive spent around 120k on my knees, that cash could have been my morgage paid out plus a GTR on finance...... now Im in insane pain being 201cm tall and no patella's. On disability pension as of this year; cant afford to buy a 24mm socket to take off my blown (oil seal) turbo in the stagea stop grouching about satnav, thats crazy talk, enjoy the GTR for what it is. a Nissan GTR 38tt, supercar.
  20. yeah its good to be able to diagnose it and get into it (wasnt that long to take apart really) need a socket no.24 tho lol for the water line. damn. oil line is cracked, will drain the sump shortly, then scrounge for a 24' socket, dont trust my spanner to Not strip the thread
  21. definately 100% sure there is no boost leak. did a compression test just now 140, 140, 142, 138, 140, 140psi across the 6 cylinders, very happy with that (105,000km 12yrs old) the dump pipe is coked in oily carbon dust. thick. shaft play left/right up/down but not forward/backwards. going to take the last 7 bolts off shortly (4 manifold, 2 oil, 1 water line) and have the turbo in my hands. exhaust housing was pretty dusty, dark thick oil smelling dust, goes right thru the dump (end of dump is really thick, recent too, ie it isnt old residue, it's fresh) and most likely thru to the muffler. the jjr dump is in excellent condition, going to clean all this gunk out of it tho, and replace the 02 sensor. so, 1st thoughts were correct, oil seals / bearing inside the turbo is failing. caught it in time before she blew. will have the turbo off later today, have a good look and see whats gone.
  22. there is oil around the block, at #1 piston area, next to the exhaust manifold, and looks to be sprayed onto the front of the turbo and the surrounding areas borrowing a comp.tester soonish... seeing the dump is off and the turbo is totally exposed, I'll drop off all the ic-joins and see each area for a split.
  23. its all cool matey... v.hard to balance everything tho. waiting on tax-back from previous financial yr. grabbing a kit from a mate shortly, cheers, took off the dump/front pipe and there isnt any oil leakage to the front/rear of the turbo so, here goes the compression test.........
  24. cheers, was a friends canon eos50d, 1st of the 3 photos is remarstered, the other 2 are 3-shot exposures laid over into 1 frame but..... the engine is farked. either piston ring or oil pump, thought it was turbo oil seal but its not turbo related; got to check it out a bit more & see whats going on (ie compression tester kit needed)
