  1. BigDatto, Very interested to watch your mates progress with that 'bender'... Keep us informed with how you go! Geoff, Check your PM. Cheers, matt
  2. Yikes - that's a whole lot of people working on you! Sounds good - do you want a deposit or something? Cheers, matt
  3. BTW - All the talk about reaction times, in my case, it was a Dial Your Own time, and I was racing a slower car! So for a bit over a second, I was sitting there watching the other car dissappear into the distance! Still caught him tho Cheers, matt
  4. Yeah - I'm getting my guards lipped so I can fit some nitto's under the back. Hopefully then I'll get a decent time! Cheers, matt
  5. Ben, Check your email! Cheers, matt
  6. Geoff - Not coming on the cruise as car is really in need of that alignment (it's kicking out under throttle, so the rear-end geometry must be all over the place). You wouldn't happen to work in the city would you? Cheers, matt
  7. Righteyo - perfect - my car's due for an alignment anyways. I've already got the whiteline sub-frame lock kit (ie. the pineapples), so that's sweet. How long's it take you to make 'em up? Cheers, matt
  8. Geoff - HICAS lock kit you say... Is it much work to install? I've been looking at getting one for a while now! Cheers, matt
  9. Like my car, Dave's has already been in HPI. Doubt you'll see his car in any other mags. Cheers, matt
  10. SK, thanks for the reply... The 450 & 200lb springs aren't progressive rate obviously? Any recommendations for who to get to make up a set? As per the whiteline pack - I've got a 24mm front bar, and 22mm rear - which are both adjustable - but in the neutral positions atm. Regarding castor/camber/toe, the car's due for a suspension re-alignment, so at the moment - it's all a little bit out of whack. What settings would you recommend? I believe with the whiteline kit, I'm able to dial in about 1.5deg of castor. I guess it's a case of as much castor as you can get yes? With the HICAS - as a temporary solution, is it as simple as just disconnecting it, or does that have other side effects? PS - What do you do for a strut brace in your RB30DET motored cars? I've had to take mine off because of the extra height. Thanks for all the info - it's greatly appreciated! Cheers, matt
  11. JimX, Back when I had 200rwkw, I had a few runs with 600's like ZX6R's, R6's (usually from 40-50km/h), and would typically find I'd pull a few car lengths by about 150 (on the track)... With 280rwkw, I've run a 954 fireblade and got 3 carlengths on him to about 160, and with around the 300rwkw mark, I've run a TLR1000 and another bike (900 of some sort) and with a 120-130kg passenger, I pulled a few car lengths on these ones too. I'd like to have a go against an older R1 or Gixxer... But I think any of these 04 1000cc bikes will be very tough to beat. I'm a bike rider too (98 ZX6R), and I'll wholeheartedly agree with you regarding lane splitting... Driving a car afterwards is so f'n frustrating!
  12. SK - What spring rates do you recommend for a full time street car/part time track car? I've got the Whiteline Works kit (Handling kit, Subframe lock kit, bilsteins & whiteline springs) in my car, but because it's got progressive rate springs, it's got too much initial lean, and the car tends to push into the corners and makes the car feel a little unsettled... The other thing is with regards to disabling the HICAS - How do you do it in the 33's? Thanks for the info btw! Cheers, matt
  13. I say we roll in some canisters of CM20 and nerve gas the whole nest! matt
  14. James - Actually that photo was taken on the Nostromo, which is further north! Cheers, matt
  15. Hey Matt, Any chance of seeing what the rolled guards looked like? I'm going to be running on a set of 275 nitto's in a month or so, so I'm keen to see what the results of the guard rolling are! Cheers, matt
  16. I was curious more than anything else... As I mentioned - my car still uses factory ones. Re: rod bolts - not too sure about ARP bolts, but I've got Tomei rod bolts which are around about the same price. Cheers, matt
  17. Yuppo - I'm hoping to crack 125mph next time I go out. Re: gearchanges - yeah same - I'm too afraid to be hard on the gearchanges as I'm afraid of the car going sideways at 100+ mph... Nitto's should sort that out though! Cheers, matt
  18. So when are you out next to test these nittos? I'll be very interested to see how low your 60fters get! Cheers, matt
  19. Yeppo! All else going to plan (and it never does).. If I can get my 60fters down to a 1.6, I should be able to run a 10! Realistically - low 11's would be good though! PS - How are you on the gearchanges? Are you savage enough that it'll chirp 4th? Cheers, matt
  20. Nice - I'm probably going to go os giken twin plate now. The singles just don't last! Yeah - the Supra which ran a 10.9 ran a 1.63 60 ft with jap coilovers (ie stiff)... The nitto's are superb for that! You just have to rip a monster burnout to get heat in the tyres! Cheers, matt
  21. Oh - I forgot to mention - the RB30 I mentioned earlier which rev's to 9000rpm (and makes 800-850hp) was a GTR - so the bottom end is stiffer because of the front diff. The torque is what warps the blocks though - not the revs. Although I haven't heard of any twin cam RB30's doing that. On another note - what are people doing with the head studs? I'm still using factory ones - but has anyone gone bigger? Cheers, matt
  22. Hey Matt, how's the single plate clutch holding up to all the abuse? Have you noticed any slippage in 4th gear yet? Cheers, matt
  23. Even more impressive! Out of interest - has anyone tried running drag shocks in a manual skyline? Do they help much getting out of the hole? Cheers, matt
