I'll post the dyno sheet tomorrow after I've seen it. Total bill was WAY the f**k too much. I can't wait to drive it although a double demerit long weekend is not ideal. When are we going to have a new race track & drag strip?

After the big end bearing let go on my 1989 R32 GTR on May 12 2007 on the SAU 'haunted' cruise I can finally collect my car tomorrow. This has been a long and drawn out saga that has cost ridiculous amounts of money. The short version for those who don't know: Did my first ever 7000rpm launch in the car and spun the big end bearing on a Friday night SAU cruise back in May last year. Within a week the car is at Willall Racing in the capable hands of Peter Hall. Peter and I discuss the rebuild, decide which mods I'll get and he gives me a quote. The work begins and the engine is stripped while I source parts from Japan. Unexpectedly and with no explanation given (to me) Peter Hall leaves Willall and I'm left with an engine in pieces. I approach Steve Cramp from Manta Racing to complete the rebuild but don't obtain a quote. Steve struggles to find all the pieces of the engine and 4 trips are made to Willall to look for stuff sometimes spending hours looking for bits and pieces. The $ have more than doubled my original quote. Finally by October the car is back at Willall for Martin Donnan to tune after I have completed 500+km breaking in the new engine. The brand new PFC fails and on Martin's and Steve's advice I send it back to Nengun for repair under warranty. 3 months later Nengun inform me that there was nothing wrong with the PFC and I have to pay to get it sent back. Add other $235 and another month to the total. Finally I get the PFC back 2 weeks ago and leave the car and the remaining mods with Steve last week while I go to Fiji for a mate's wedding. I get back today and read an email that Manta wants another $1230 but the car is ready to be collected although now the HKS EVC boost controller no longer holds constant boost so they have re-plumbed the system and have it running at 17psi. I have never had any problems with the HKS EVC before. Can you guess what it made on the dyno? (I haven't seen the sheet yet but know the figure) Mods: HKS GT-SS turbos at 17psi HKS dumps CP forged pistons & rings Tomei forged conrod bolts Apexi FMIC Apexi front pipes Turbo back 3" exhaust with 3.5" high flow cat and 4" tip Tomei type b poncams 260 IN/EX 9.15 lift Tomei adjustable pulley set R33 GTR long nosed crank SARD 700cc injectors Nismo AFMs Nismo timing belt Nismo fuel pump Splitfire ignition coils Tomei 1.2mm metal head gasket Tomei 1.5mm oil restricter N1 oil pump Tomei sump baffle kit GReddy oil cooler GREX oil filter relocation kit Apexi PFC plus lots others to suspension, interior, exterior, brakes etc.

If you type +worshop +recommend in the SA Section you'll find this topic gets covered quite often. Personally I'd say since you have an RB25 go to Boostworxs. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/se...shop++recommend

Nice car. Looks tough. I must add 'Drive a 260rs' on my things to do list.

I consider my car a go-car (if it ever runs again) more than a show-car and wouldn't consider entering it with its crappy paint job. I think more emphasis is placed on show. lol Although you can go for dyno runs.

I bed to differ.

Hey this thread is still open. I can whore it so I'm the last poster. Oh yeah... and I saw a Skyline. It looked grey. Um... That is all.

That Porsche looks MAD in the last photo.

Just saw a white R33 GTST doing circles in the car park across the road from me. Left lots of smoke and black lines. Maybe not the smartest thing? They have CCTV on the carpark and I could see your most of your numberplate from my window.

I do. That's why I have a Peugeot 205 GTI as well. It is more fun than the GTR in the twisty hills near me. The GTR feels too wide and heavy and always makes me feel like I'm driving too slow... until I look at the speedo. The Pug doesn't sound as good and against a stop watch it is slower over the same roads, but I can drive it much closer to its limits and not worry about killing myself because of one mistake. Different cars with different personalities for different moods. Cruising in the Bentley was something altogether different again.

Soon you will join the 300 club. And faster where? In a straight line?

I saw this car & driver today about 5:30pm on South Rd around St Marys

Saw a guy in a Maroon R33 GTST with an SAU sticker on South Rd heading towards Vilis about 4pm yesterday. Gave a wave - got a wave.

Great find! The GTR did well. The other thing to remember is that this is the 1st generation R35 GTR. The 1st generation Gallardo was a significantly slower car compared to the current generation Gallardo let alone the Superleggera. But you have to test current models and the Gallardo is due for replacement soon. It will be interesting to see what the Spec V ends up like. Lighter with more power and better brakes... YES PLEASE!!!

Search Function Error
writeoff replied to writeoff's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Thanks for getting back to me. You're right that I'm using IE. I've only ever used IE. RE security settings. I haven't changed anything. I run Symantic Corporate edition AV, Spybot & ad-adware 2007. Recently I have been getting a lot of internet dropouts & Internode (my ISP) want me to change my modem before sending a tech out. I had a virus appear about 1-2 weeks ago but it was picked up by my AV and deleted. I update & run all 3 anti-X programs daily. As for the error itself the 'More Search Options' page loads up and I can type about 8-10 letters before the hour glass symbol appears and remains until I end the program through Task Manager. It dosen't give me any specific info other than "application not responding". I have left it running for >30 mins with no change. I'm pretty computer illiterate so I realise that I'm not really helping you much. Sorry. But it is frustrating as I use the search function a lot which you, perhaps more than anyone else on SAU, can appreciate. -
Hi, For some time now whenever I try to use the search function, specifically the 'more search options' the page loads up and then freezes and eventually timesout. I get the hourglass symbol and then the error report. Has been this way for a few weeks. No other problems seem to occur. Just when I use the search function. Cheers David aka writeoff

This is INDOOR soccer - it hurts to dive on wood. It's a fast game that requires fitness and skill. Usually as your fitness wears out the skills go aswell. It was a good game. We ended up with 6 players but still lost 1-3, although we hit the post over 6 times. Their goalie was the difference. We had more shots and more shots on target as well. Big thanks to Shane & Mel. Nice to meet you both and really appreciated you turning up. If you ever run short of players for Tuesday's give me a call. Thanks mr_rbman. I'll keep you in mind.

Thanks Shane. See you soon.

Ok. Thanks Shaun. I know it is late notice but I'm out of options now and desperate. Of our usual players 2 are in Sydney for their grandfather's funeral, one is on a boat with his dad somewhere off Queesland, another is in Asia until March, one is away with work and the last had his big toe nail removed one his preferred kicking foot. The usual 'backups' are either unavailable or haven't responded.

Hi All, I play indoor soccer on Monday nights and desperately need at least 2 more players for tonights game. Kick off is at 7:15pm. Address is the O'Halloran Hill Recreation Centre on Candy Road, O'Halloran Hill (about 20km south of town). All you need to wear are appropriate shoes, shorts and a red T-shirt. Shin pads are optional. No experience is necessary, I only started playing soccer in the last 12 months and have never had any coaching so I suck. It is just for fun and to have a run around. We play 2 x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute break so the game will be finished by 8pm. Cost is $35 for the match divided between how ever many players we have - 5 players = $7 each, 6 = ~$6 and so on. So far I have 3 players and need 2 more. Please let me know if you want to play. Cheers. David aka writeoff
