  1. Brilliant work Richard!!! I always enjoy looking at your photos and reading your narration of events. Keep the images coming
  2. I remember that. It didn't last very long though. From memory it came in for a short time after a state election although I can't remember which party won and initiated it. I think I have a bias against public transport as my uncle lost his leg due to a bus driver not checking that everyone was on properly and closed the doors when my uncle was only partially in. He was knocked to the curb and then the bus driver drove over his right leg (this happened many years ago when my uncle was a boy).
  3. I remember when they were 20c... and when the gov't put them up to 30c. I haven't caught public transport in SA for about 6 years although I needed to get from my house to pick up the Peugeot the other day and looked it up - 4 different buses to get there 'direct' or 2 buses to get into town and another one to get from town to the place in Unley. Stuff that!
  4. 1. What size of tyre do you mainly need? 18" 2. What do you mainly use your tyres for? Track Cruises 3. What is the main reason that you buy your tyres from your supplier (New or Used)? Example: Cost? Service? Cost. I always shop around after I chose the specific tyre that I want. 4. Would your driving style change if the cost of tyres was dramatically dropped? Probably do more track days and try some burnouts and drifting. 5. What would you consider a fair price for a decent used set of 2 tyres? (Example: Bridgestone Potenza RE040 with 40% tread or more) Would depend on the tread remaining and overall condition of the tyre. I don't consider 40% tread as decent. 6. Would you be interested a bit extra if I could deliver to your door? No, unless the tyres were difficult to get locally. 7. Would you be interested in paying slightly more for same day delivery? No. 8. What is your preferred brand of tyre? Michelin, Bridgestone. 9. Would be interested in a fair rebate for every friend you refer? Sure.
  5. Just to add to this: PLEASE get a quality alarm /immobiliser! Our insurance rates will be effected by all the Skyline thefts of late. It amazes me people who will spend $1k on a stereo but whinge about shelling out $300 or more on an alarm. PLEASE get some insurance. Fire/theft is not that expensive. Search around. I know some people struggle because of a poor driver history or lack of $, but the amount of uninsured cars that have over $10k of motifications is stupid. Delay one mod to get insurance first. If your place has more than 1 car then park the other one behind your Skyline- especially at night when neither car will be moved for 7-8 hours. This means that the theives will have to move it first and thus increasing their time, noise & therefore risk. I know that this is inconvenient but less so than waking up and finding no car. To drive your car right up to a fence or wall inflate an old water bladder or wine cask t0 about 3/4 full with air and stick it on the fence/wall at bumper height. This way you can touch park without damaging your paintwork. For those who are tech savy perhaps sensor lights linked with some CCTV on your car. If it is stolen at least you may get some footage of the theives.
  6. Hopefully at least 350awkW. I say this because I have left standard R32 GTR conrods in my engine rebuild on advise from Peter Hall (formally from Willall Racing). However, I did purchase Tomei conrod bolts & CP forged pistons and the conrods were all tested prior to putting the engine back together.
  7. No Flick. You should paint your car a more visible colour.
  8. I actually have people ask me why I arm my alarm when I go to pay for petrol or do something really quickly. How hard is it to press a button on a remote to engage and then later disengage the alarm/immobiliser vs coming back and finding your car missing and then explaining to the insurance company that the alarm wasn't on (or having to lie to them and they check with CCTV footage).
  9. I just spoke with the guy from Autoperfection about this group buy. He said that legally in SA the rear & rear quarter windows can have a luminous transmittance of not less than 35% & the front door windows must have a luminous transmittance of at least 70%. The group buy does NOT including any tinting on the front windscreen. The owner can stipulate on the day if they would like 35% for all windows (not including the front windscreen). The sticker is a chrome one approximately 25cm long x 5 cm high and looks "classy".
  10. Damn! Nice bike! I'd love to see this in the flesh one day.
  11. Good work Steve in organising this. I'm definately interested but will go and see an example first and also see what the sticker looks like.
  12. Flick me a PM please. Won't be able to come in the GTR (I had to send the PFC back to Japan) but may make in my little Peugeot... assuming no-one minds a French hot (in its day) hatch tagging along.
  13. I'm glad that you're okay Luke. A lady running a red light at the start of the year wrote my car off and put me in hospital. I still have trouble with my neck/back/hips and knee. I guess the question is whether you have the skills, tools, time and patience to pull the car apart and store the parts until they sell. Some potential buyers always stuff you around which can be quite frustrating but you could end up making a few extra $. Good luck.
  14. Sorry to hear mate. I'll ask the standard insurance & alarm/immobiliser questions. I hope it turns up... some have.
  15. Are you sure it wasn't a delayed 'trick' from Halloween? Did you give lollies to all those that came knocking?
  16. If you do a search of 'brake wiring' in the General Maintenance section you will find some threads that will help.
  17. Good to hear Trent. How's the car running now? Were they just joyriders? How's the brakes, engine, bodywork etc?
  18. Damn I didn't know that. I used 108 three times during May and June when the GTR engine died. "Full On" eh? Have got a number for them?
  19. If you need towing on an import (or any low car for that matter) use 108 Towing 0431 751 057. I can't remember the guys name but he is a good guy, moves low cars all the time, and has a truck specifically designed for it. His fees are also very reasonable ~$70. And you won't need to remove your front bar or worry about damage.
  20. Just spotted a white R32 on my street in Happy Valley ~9:50pm. I was following you in my GTR (but turned into the driveway). I wonder if you were lost as not too many people use my street.
  21. There's one here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/My...&hl=myspace And here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sp...&hl=myspace And here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/My...&hl=myspace The search button is your friend. Don't ignore it. It gets lonely.
  22. I know what they're all about...
  23. Is that meant to say 17psi@4800 to 8000+ =333rwkW?
  24. Saw a R32 on Grand Junction Rd yesterday morning around 9:00am. Gave a wave and got one back. Saw a black R33 GTST on Marion Rd just before the South Rd intersection with a SAU sticker n the drivers side rear window around 4pm yesterday. Saw a silver R33 GTST with the plates SKYLINE parked at the floor place on Marion Rd yesterday. Figure the owner must work there as I drove past it 4 times throughout the day and it was there every time.
