  1. Which one is best? For what? You need to describe what the car will be used for & what you are looking for. Is it for a road, track, dyno or drag car? Are you chasing high kW at the expense of lag or do you want something that's responsive? How much are you willing to spend? What mods do you have already? Is the car running standard internals? Check out this thread (as salad advised): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t93880.html There are heaps of threads on this in the Forced Induction section but don't start a new one without doing a search and some reading first or you will be either ignored or flamed. These charts may help (which were in the Forced Induction section and are discussed there). Personally I went with HKS GTSS which are probably the best (along with N1 & Garrett GT2860R-7) for a street driven GTR but that lead to needing heaps more stuff and many, many more $.
  2. When I first looked at the photo instead of thinking "Oh no. Another unmarked cop car to catch me when I do something wrong" I actually wondered if the cops had purchased a Skyline to try and catch more of the thieves that have been stealing our pride and joys at a rate of about 1 a week for the last 6 months. It may or may not be a cop car but I for one hope that it is... and that it gets stolen and leads the cops to a warehouse full of Skylines & Skyline parts. Although that may all be wishful thinking.
  3. I've got dual Blitz BOV on my R32 GTR and the car has stalled when slowing down since fitting new HKS GTSS turbos. The advice I get from SAU & my mechanic says to put standard GTR BOV on (which I don't have as the car came with the Blitz BOV when I bought it). Is there a difference between the R32/33/34 GTR BOVs and is there any advantage to using a new R34 GTR BOV over an R32 GTR BOV? Car should be making about 320rwkW.
  4. Red Book gives the following evaluation for the car (assuming the details on VL Turbo are correct) 1998 LAMBORGHINI DIABLO SV Coupe 2dr Man 5sp 5.7i Prices based on km 90,000 - 160,000 Trade in price guide* $129,400 - $141,900 National average price - private sale* $145,000 - $159,200 Price when new (RRP) $463,947 There could be many reasons why the car wasn't insured but obviously the guy now realises that was a mistake. In regards to the structure of the car I would say the best evidence that the car crumbled as it was designed to do would be the photo of the two occupants standing nearby and not displying any need for immediate medical attention.
  5. Spotted a sweet yellow R32 on Chandlers Hill Rd, Aberfoyle Park yesterday. Exchanged waves.
  6. When the exhaust wheel went on one of my turbos I found it in the cat as black powder. Probably best to get a leak down test done on the engine to check its health.
  7. I'm glad that it is at Boostworx as all my previous dyno tuning was done there so I can compare results from the same dyno. Your point about having a dyno run in hot weather is valid as well. Count me in.
  8. Johnny there is an entire section in this forum dedicated to car audio and security. Do a search in there and you will find heaps of information about what alarms are considered the best, which are shite and which ones meet Australian insurance standards. You could always PM specific questions to Chris Rogers (who provides valuable alarm related information to people on this forum) for anything you can't find in the threads. Alternatively go speak with some installers here like George at Adelaide Pro Sound. As for insurance it's a matter of ringing around as everyones circumstances are different regarding age, accident/speeding history, location where car will be kept, how many km per year you'll do in it etc. I'm with Shannons and find them brilliant to deal with both before and after making a claim. Has your car arrived from Japan yet? You still have time to do some research.
  9. Congratulations Andrew and Carolyn. Welcome Tyler John. Best wishes for all of you and I hope you enjoy being a Dad. I look forward to seeing the baby seat in the back of the R34.
  10. Hi Mike. How'd the beast perform last weekend? How many laps did you do?
  11. I have been a PES addict since it started as ISS on the PS1. I have bought every version of it and am still playing the master league on PES6 on a nightly basis on the PS2. I have got a PC version but never played it as I need a controller (muscle memory) and can't use the keyboard well enough to dominate. I'm keen to start an online comp when the new version finally hits our shores.
  12. Is there any reason why you have started three separate threads with pics from the TMS? Surely they could have all gone in the one thread? And if you insist on separate threads then this one is not related to the R35 GTR at all so should have been in another section of the forum. I'm glad you posted them and she is rather pleasant to look at but a new thread...
  13. Will this be at Boostworx again? Is January an ideal time to run a dyno day? It will probably be pretty damn hot. I'd say April/May would be better although with current climate patterns - or lack there of - it may be cooler in January. I'd prefer the 19th as I usually have something on Australia Day.
  14. I can't wait to see Mines, HKS & other aftermarket tuners versions of the R35 GTR.
  15. If the old wasteland thread was closed because it was too large and effecting server performance how come the Spotted in SA thread continues beyond 300 pages? I smell a conspiracy... Woops. My bad. It was just the dog. Carry on. Nothing to see here.
  16. Spotted MIS R33 at the Woodcroft shopping centre this afternoon. Nice car. And at about 6pm I spotted myself in the rear view mirror driving my skyline for the first time since May 12. YAY!!!! *balloons & party poppers* Now I just have to get 500km into the newly rebuilt engine.
  17. Did they show the lap at the Nurburgring? My screen froze and came back on with 7:38.54 showing. Start the car dude. Let's hear it scream!!!
  18. Damn my car won't be ready in time. The ignition coils just arrived today and I still need the ECU to be remapped, brake the engine in for 500km and then the dyno tune. Hopefully I'll be back on the road by next week with some... um... extra kW.
  19. The bearing came off of cylinder 6. I haven't spoken with Peter since the start of July but last I heard he was going to work in Victoria.
  20. Thanks Martin. I have no complaints about Steve or Manta except their hourly rate of $91.30... and that the car still isn't ready (although that's not actually Steve's fault). The engine blew on May 12 and was at Willall within a week. Five months later and I'm still waiting. And the cost... OMG!!!
  21. The search button is your friend. I'll help: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t1...&hl=sticker
  22. Peter Hall has left Willall although Martin Donnan still does tuning there.
  23. I personally believe that Boostworx's sweet spot is with the RB25. I believe there are other (most likely more expensive) workshops that have more experience with the RB26. I'm having my engine rebuild done by Manta Racing but won't recommend them until the job is complete and I have the car back. Go to the different workshops yourself and speak to the people there to form you own opinion. The usual places mentioned are Boostworx, Graham West, Manta, Tilbrook, Blackwood Dynotune etc. If you do a search you'll see this topic gets covered quite regularly.
  24. I've used Bendix Ultimates, EBC Greenstuff & Ferodo DS2500 in my R32 GTR. The Ferodo DS2500 are clearly the best of those 3.
  25. Spotted PKBLADE on Friday near Autobarn Mile End around 5:30pm. I was just coming out of the car park in my Pug 205 GTI. Unbelieveably they just gave me a new trumpet for my airhorn.
