  2. If your running the GTR itb's you will have to use a GTR type plenum. i've used the both the JUN plenum and now the Hypertune unit. The Hypertune unit is bigger and allows you to use either a 85mm tb or their big daddy 97mm. we are currently using the 97mm unit. 400awkw on 21psi. There was no increase of lag going with the Hypertune unit that i could feel. Hope this helps.
  3. I was back at c&V today(holden Vs Ford)dyno day. They got the little civic out again, this time with c16 and some new plugs. They started to get the car going again but they blew a tyre, then they got some new ones on to only pop a drive shaft. They left it for now but they will be running the car this wednesday night still they said. I hope all goes well for them and they get the MPH that they want(140).
  4. Hey guys was around at C&V just then and saw the Hypertune civic just make 365KW at the front wheels just with boost, no gas! They said it was with only 24psi. The car is still 1595cc and revs to 11,000RPM!!! They may up the boost more tomorrow at C&V's Dyno day. I'm going out to see it run next wednesday night. Cheers
  5. I was down at Hypertune the other day and they had a custom plenum made for the RB20 sitting on the shelf for sale. Its based on one of their RB26 units.

  7. As i said just give C&V a call and see what they say. stop typing and call.9526 5322 just making it easier. just did another skyline just then. made 24kw at the wheels on 8 psi.nothing extra done.
  8. Sorry but first up the comment on a front mount won't make more power unless you put more boost into it is incorrect. I've seen for myself many intercooler ONLY upgrades done and seen 26kw at the wheels from just a front mount on a S15 and 18.5 from a forester and many others, all the way up to 46kw at the wheels from a 185 celica GT4. If your not sure if it would make power just from an intercooler just ring C&V perfoemance and ask them if i just do and intercooler will it make more power. As for intercooler kits there are many Australian made kits you can buy also which are better quality than the chinese ones, such as hyperflow,GCG,Performance OZ(ebay company) and many others.
  9. These are Great turbo's why hasen't anyone bought them yet. We made 300AWKW on 15 psi with these turbo's! Good luck with the sale (and yes they are GT-SS turbos!)
  10. Just giving you an update on whats going on. We will be hitting the track we hope next week in trying for a ten or maybe just getting the car comfortable with more boost for now. as i have said before we will be uping the boost from 21psi in third and forth and maybe dropping it a little in second. Just making sure eveyone knows these times arn't with our GTR, but with a 1.6L turbo civic. We are also looking for a quote on getting a papachute fitted and getting a cage put in if anyone has anyone they know that would help. I'll keep you up to date with how we go with power. Also Hypertune will be making one of there Billet plenums for the B16A/B18 very shortly so , we will run one of those as well as a 76 or 85mm TB on it.

The car is a 98 model civic with the following B16A still 1.6L modiffied 35/40 with lager 66mm inducer, larger comp cover and the 1.06 exhaust housing Hypertune big bore runner exhaust manifold made from stainless Toda valve train OS giken bottom end stock crank spoon diff os clutch motec m800 motec cdi bfgoodrich 225/50/15 90mm intercooler 10psi=1st 15psi=2nd 21psi=3rd 21psi=4th We will now start winding up the boost a little in 3rd and 4th. Its was great seeing Theo run a flat 9 in his GTR.

  13. we've had experiance at a lot of tuners in Sydney, but by far CRD is the best. Just go round there one day and check out some of the massive horsepower GTR's they work on. cheers

  17. could you share a bit of light on the setup of your own car as i don't see you contributing much to this forum. I try to put up as much info as possible on the combinations used on the car, where as you try to say that since the car is not registerd in my name that i don't have say as to how the car runs or what works tith the car. My father is standing besides me as I type and is questioning the relevence of who owns the car. If you were a fan of the GT-SS set up i'm sure you will be impressed once we have finished with this new round of mods.
  18. WOW, thats seems like a fairly aggresive post. Why? are you actually interested or just trying to put me down? I'll assume your just a passionate GTR owner with a genuine interest (some pics and specs of your car would be nice) and try to respond to your "queries" Yes, nice to drive on the street. Sure its more laggy than the GTSS's but the extra power MORE than makes up for it. The thing scares me now, and thats the way I like it. Comments from the guys at Croydon were that this was one of the best responding T88 setups they have had on the dyno (2.6l) Obviously the Hypertune manifold is working very well, as the response is very good for the size of turbo, and the power at this boost level is also very good. BRING BACK THE JUN PLENUM? Why? the hypertune one is cheaper, FLOWS MORE and I very much doubt has any measurable difference in lag. Whats more, it is Australian made, lighter and the runners are fully machined from billet (it should be more expensive!). I have had both (obviously) and am more than happy with my choice. Nice for drags... Thank you I will run it but I am planning to get a stronger box and would rather wait. Plenty of GTR's have also broken boxes running 10's you know..... I figure that every broken stock box is another step away from buying something decent. I can't wait to race it again though, and might take it out anyway but try to go easy on it.
  19. The T88 is a 33D wich is the smallest T88 they have made and is no longer available. why not the T88GK, because the GK is rated at 1100hp where as the 33D is rated at 850hp. The car is very nice to drive arounf the streets. it makes about 120AWKW before it comes on hard. a stock GTR makes 160AWKW. The turbo looks like it should make 500 with some other little things added. as for the bleeder system was done by Hypertune. No there isn't a V-band flange on the turbine housing. The car is now an absolute freak to drive now!
  20. Its daily driven. but one day we hope to race it a bit, both circut, drag and drift. engine was built by CRD.

  22. The car is still a 2.6L with tomei 260deg cams and forged stuff inside. The car made the power running a trust street exhaust wich is 3" piping with a 70mm muffler. also the was running 22psi on optimax. Last time when we put on our 4" race exhaust we made another 30KW at the wheels, so we'll see how it goes later with that on. Jim did a great job tuning the car. The car will be at the track for compact attack but currently the car will not be running as we can't afford a new gearbox just yet. Thanks to the guys down at Hypertune for doing all the work on the car and installing the new plenum and throttle body.
  23. Hi guys i'm currently bolting up my new setup which was purchased from doughboy(Thanks Chris). I've got a T88-33d sard wastegate,new Hypertune billet plenum and one of their just released billet 97mm TB. I'm also modiffying the TRUST intercooler so as is has a 4" outlet. We made 367AWKW with the GT-SS's, any guess as what the car may make with the new setup. what power and what boost. if anyone has had this turbo on their car before or who has been in a car with this turbo(33d). let me know cheers.

  25. We will be trying to get out to the track this week to see if we can better our times. we just want to see what sort of mph we can get with the little 1.6L As for our GTR we haven't run it as our Gear box isn't too crash hot, but we are putting on the T88 at the end of this week.
