I would be getting a better set of tires, and just getting use to what power you know have.you don't want to wrap the car round a pole!

Sorry, no we do not use the factory BOV's. instead we use a single TRUST Type R.

Thanks i'll might have a go at sending through some smoke. Nismoid don't worry you will get a power run with the new plenum installed. we may have found we have an exhaust leak also. and we don't want to take the turbo's off and then have the car retuned to find out that we don't make much more power up top. We have had the car on the dyno, to check if the A/F ratio's were ok.it was getting too late and we didn't have time to tune the car.(8.30pm at CRD) so we want to get the suring problem all sorted and make sure that sound near the exhaust housing isn't anything major. Then we will get the car back on the dyno. Just by driving the car you can tell it has a lot more torque down low with the new set up.with the piliot sport 265/35/18's that all round that we run,before just by pushing the throttle we wouldn't get wheel spin in first,but now with just getting it off the line slowly and then pushing the throttle the tires will light up! When the car is retuned i hope that we get 20kw up top at the treads, and some more down low. Thanks for all the ideas keep them coming. The turbo's still sound perfect,and we did find that the power steering pump needs to be replaced. Ben.

I've asked a few pretty cluey guys and they said the compressor surge can also happen when the engine is too efficient for the turbo's.(They say there is too much exhaust and the exhaust housings are not big enough. The turbo's are the same ones as when we made 367awkw, the only thing that has changed is the new plenum and the 80mm throttle body. as for taking it for a drive the car feels like it's making more power and has better response and yes it makes boost. I would like to know more about, how any leaks can course surging. Thanks

Thanks for that two.06L, where did you end up founding that air leak. Also what sort of leak is it on the exhaust side or the inlet side. before or after the air flow meters? Cheers and sorry for all the questions. Ben

Hi guys and girls just letting you know,we have installed the JUN plenum. As for installing the plenum,WHAT A BITC#! It took us three days to get the car all sorted. there is a fare bit that need to be done before you can start the car when installing one of these. you need a new throttle cable(300zx). new throttle cable mount. new piping to the plenum relocating the air temp sensor re-doing a lot of hoses underneath the plenum new radiator hose. Anyway i'm sure your wanting to know how much power we have made. The answer is that the turbos are surging at idle, and we need to replace the turbos. With just letting the car idle, the turbo's just chuff like a train. So we are now wanting to replace our HKS GT-SS turbo's for a set of HKS GT-RS's. If anyone knows of anyone wanting to swap could you please get them to PM me. People who are looking for a good set of turbo's that will make 367AWKW the GT-SS's will do it. Cheers Ben

how good/bad are these copy intercoolers?

I've seen a car with a hybrid cooler at 250kw at the wheels go to 270 at the wheels,with a cooler from Performance Manufacturing at Tarin Point. very nice bit of gear. same settings nothing changed at all! -

All intercoolers are not the same and don't kid yourself that they are made in the same factory. just take a TRUST core and then compare it to a Cheap Hybrid and then compare it with one of the best, an ARC job. They are no the same. yes they do a good job at lower power figures, up to 500hp or so. I've got a cheap chinese one on my golf which makes 210FWKW and then we have a TRUST on on the GTR.They are both 600x300 and thats were the similarity end. -

Why has this subject been going so long? why can we see some before and after results. If i had a GTsT i would simply give it to UAS and get them to install the new plenum, and if it got the results i would buy it!

The HKS web site first said 280 as well,but then they changed it to 320hp.

We have already posted up our results of 367AWKW on croydon racing developments dyno dynamics dyno in the motorsport section in the post of 11.7sec with GT-ss turbo's. These are great turbo's and they make good power. We make 332awkw with out quiet trust exhaust. and 367awkw with our straight through 4''.

Thanks guys, once the car gets serviced we will stick it on the dyno and see what she pulls at low boost 15psi or so. 400awkw should be fun.

When we had our motor done, it has had full synthetic from the word go! As for the tune we had a really soft tune for the first 500km then they got it to idle better.then after 2000km's they tune the car so it ran perfect and they raised the rev limiter from 7000rpm to 7500. after another 3000km we raised the boost more and raised the revs to 8500. power went from 250AWKW to 290AWKW to 332AWKW and the last tune with a 4''exhaust 360AWKW! All the work was performed at CRD and there has never been one problem with the car.as for the comment of it will drink oil if you use full synthetic from the start . we have done about 9000km's since the rebuild.there has been no sign of the car drinking oil. We have been very happy with the service at CRD and team there. Before you all start saying thats such a long run in period, it's not long when you drive the car every day and you intend to do that same thing for a long time from now. Also CRD run the car at about 1500rpm and around that for roughly 3-4 hours on the dyno after the engine is back in the car.(yes i have seen them do this!)

Hi guys i've just had a look at a GTR with Twin TRUST Td05 18G's. the car also has a set of cams. don't know how big. the car has external gates.the turbo's sit not in a high or low mount position, they sit about half way. The car has a front mount with twin entry and is about 100mm thick. Does anybody know for a fact on what the turbo's maximum is with good supporting gear? I was hoping to get 400AWKW! Also can you get local exhaust housings to fit the trust turbos. As i want a turbo wich has an outlet to the exhaust of about 2.5 inch. Can you fit the exhaust housings from a TD06 25G to the TD05 18G,as i'm not to fussed about lag! if any of you can use examples and what power you have heard of or seen would be great. cheers Ben

Just take the cat off, take it round the block with nothing on. You may want to fit a boost controller, and see if that helps.even if is doesn't it will help you later when you want to increase power. make sure no one left a rag in the intercooler, as i have heard of it before and having simillar effects.
