  1. well being that I wasn't there and don't know the full circumstances of the problem, I can only suggest you look at the receipt and give Chris a call if you don't understand what was done to the car and what you were paying for. Chris has always justified what he has done or what needs to be done to our cars and the price/quote even without being asked and to the point of him giving me back the broken parts without asking for them. To me it sounds like something else was obviously fixed/replaced and Justin isn't clear on what he was paying for.
  2. how does that work? did they have to fix something or put in whiteline bushes? I think from memory their alignments are $90 for 4 wheel. Edit: There you go, Michael said a camber kit is about $300 or thereabouts with an alignment. Also it was probably a Whiteline kit, and Centreline usually charge less than if you buy direct from Whiteline. You can have a look at one of Sydneykids threads to compare prices for the kits.
  3. you can ask them to send you a letter saying you are insured as a rating 1 with them, & most other insurance agencies will match the rating.
  4. what the hell is an EV boot.. a CV boot? try ringing Chris @ Centreline for a 2nd quote 94692914. They're just off Mahoneys Rd and won't rip you off. PS $100 is a ripoff.. I hope that was for 2 x $50 inspections at different places. Don't forget that if you take it back to the same place within the 30days you do not have to pay another inspection/RW fee.

    Hooning ?

yes, a public carpark (eg shopping centre carpark) is considered a public road. You can also be fined by the EPA for littering in public carparks. Pretty much the only place you can do burnouts etc is on a private property or a private road eg out in the bush at your uncle's farm etc, OR at a motorkhana event eg DECA or at Calder Park Raceway drifts/drags etc.
  6. did you get pulled over or get a notice in the mail? what was the inspection for and how long to clear it etc? what else did they look for? sorry to be a pain but there isn't much info floating around on EPA notices etc
  7. were you booting it at the time? Also did they do a compression test?
  8. how stupid do you think people are? I think your neg feedback might be giving you away. Give it up.
  9. used to be with vodafone but their caps went to shite and I think they started charging for voicemail from memory. So now with Virgin as of last year. Unfortunately they have gotten rid of their Virgin2virgin rates though. nokia 6230i = $12 a month, contract for 6 months then you can pay out the phone if you like, I imagine their phones are different now tho. $30 = $100 cap or $45 = $230 or $65 = $350 invoiced monthly but they also have prepaid. as far as I understand you can upgrade phones at any time also.. not sure how it works though. Free text, pics, only special calls are charged eg directory assistance/connect which is a bit of a ripoff (much like vodafone was tho). virginmobile.com.au Cheers PS they also have free courier delivery for all phones.
  10. I saw them double parked at a local shopping centre last year so one of them could run into the vacuum shop where he bought something... must have been his wife's birthday? lol
  11. **Anyone too far from Epping can also see the collection days for other areas here: http://www.sustainability.vic.gov.au/resou...ox_Brochure.pdf Hey guys, if your house is anything like mine, you'll have 15 bottles of motor oil, 5 bottles of coolant, 10 bottles of brake fluid, couple of batteries.. etc etc all sitting in the garage/out the back waiting to be disposed of. This Saturday the 10th February is the next FREE household chemical disposal ('collection') day for Whittlesea residents. There's one approx every 18 months for every council. You don't have to live within the Whittlesea shire to drop off your chemicals either. Saturday 10th February Council Works Depot 68-96 Houston St Epping 8am - 4pm (basically it's directly behind Epping Police Station near cnr of Miller St - behind High St & Cooper) Among the types of unwanted household chemicals accepted for safe disposal at the collection day are: *Household chemicals such as aerosol cans, insect sprays, pest poisons, household cleaners, pharmaceuticals, mothballs and old smoke detectors *Garden chemicals - fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides *Automotive chemicals - transmission fluids, batteries and battery acid, brake fluid, car wax solvent, fuels (such as petrol, diesel, kerosene) and oils (including motor and sump oils) *Workshop chemicals - paint strippers, solvent-based glues, water and oil-based paints, paint thinner, acetone, turpentine, varnish and wood preservative. Other unwanted household chemicals of products containing chemicals accepted on the collection day are artists’ paints and supplies, photographic chemicals, fibreglass resins (not mixed), fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, swimming pool chemicals and mercury batteries. No single item should exceed 20L or 20kg. There is no limit on quantity but no commercial or farm use chemicals will be accepted. Any further info can be found here: http://whittlesea.vic.gov.au/content/content.asp?cnid=2703 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you can't make it Saturday then you can dispose of motor oil, batteries, fluro tubes and paint any other time at: Darebin Resource Recovery Centre Kurnai Avenue Reservoir Opening hours are: Mon-Sun 8am - 3.30pm However, they don't take brake fluids, coolant etc and there's a very crappy gravel road leading to the disposal area so don't take a car with a nice, unmarked paintjob. Cheers! Kaz
  12. Is it the kind of thing that can be fixed with plastic/vinyl paint from autobarn? I've resprayed indicator/headlight arms and plastic surrounds etc before but I don't know what the centre console is like in your car.. also depends how deep the scratches are I guess.
  13. lol yeah that would be to fix the steering issues the xr8s have at full lock.. of course not all cop cars affected seem to have been fixed as yet.
  14. geez those personalised number plates must be a good way to spend money! Nevermind that they're understaffed, plates are definately more important.. Those 'police' plates must have been cheap. Matt you have to do 4 years of pleb work before you can enter any decent division incl mounted police, TMU etc. Had an unmarked, old beamer turn up to the neighbours once in thornbury.. dont know what it was... I think it was lime green.. looked like a granny car except for the lights in the back.
  15. I saw a big heart shaped tip at autobarn if you have no luck finding a hello kitty one
  16. Imported Asahi.. do u mean as opposed to locally brewed Asahi?? Michael used to work for Fosters and we were under the impression it was imported but maybe they brew it locally.. ? Either way we get our Asahi from Liquorland or ColesOnline and Dan Murphy is a good place for rare drinks..
  17. well you'd think so.. but when I said I can only find supermarkets and mentioned the city, I meant chinatown basically.. there's a hello kitty/nightmare b4 xmas etc shop there.. but they have like maybe 3 dresses at a ridiculous price and that's it.
  18. pfft Howard is always on tax payer funded holidays these days.. or 'business' trips overseas... you'll be waiting a while for an answer! Anyhoo in all seriousness, if you have a clean record for 3 yrs you can apply for a caution. I had a pretty convincing reason to get the caution but I'm not sure if you actually need a legit reason every time or if you're entitled to a caution automatically. Always worth contesting parking fines and traffic offences, at the very least you get a bit longer to pay it off... esp with parking fines, if you had to leave the car to find a payphone to call RACV/friend etc or were in a no standing zone because there was a mechanical problem (receipts help).. not much they can do about it and they'll withdraw it.
  19. hello! I've been looking everywhere in the city for an asian shop that sells chinese dresses and men's shirts etc.. in Sydney (where I grew up), there is a huge asian shop near central that has just about everything oriental you could ever need.. but down here I can't find anything! I even went to Vic Market but couldn't find anything there either (didn't help they were all packing up tho). Can someone point me in the right direction? There's a very cool, expensive Hello Kitty shop in the city x2 but other than that I've only seen food supermarkets etc. Northside or city is better. I also can't find any Japanese shops that sell decorations, home stuff etc.. big fans, wall hangings and the like. Is there anywhere in Vic like that? Also the closest Jap supermarket is in St Kilda even though we live northside.. if there is one closer please let me know! Too far to go for Dashi sauce.. might as well get takeaway.. I know where everything is in Sydney (helps that I grew up with a chinese stepmother).. but even after 6 years down here I'm still clueless (and I don't know where any shops are either!) Any help would be appreciated.. Cheers! Kaz
  20. the other difference between shannons and J/C is lifetime guarantee on repairs and choice of repairer which JC doesn't offer. Ryno is the same as shannons in that respect so you should probably try them.
  21. gazelle!! hehe

  24. I have pink lights installed under the dash to light up the footwells.. I was told by a snr sgt that its fine to install them but they cant be on whilst driving. I think its the same for underbody neons. PJ are you sure it's legal to have them on? Oh and the only legal colour is green btw.
  25. I hope you're not talking to me, I was being nice
