I think you've all forgotten that we've already been tested twice, and have done a course (eg learning to drive with an instructor) and have proved that we are responsible drivers and understand the law enough that we deserve our license. So perhaps the problem is in the testing, not being retested and offered stickers/plates that can be copied. Who is going to foot the bill for that idea anyway? Just for the record I have never done anything illegal in my car such as a burnout, drag etc, anything that comes under the hoon legislation. I've never been 45k over or going over 145k/hr which is the speed required to get your car impounded. And there's no mention of mods in hoon legislation either so in theory it shouldn't matter what you have on your car and you shouldn't be targeted for that or presumed guilty of being a hoon etc. It's no better than being African American (eg) and presumed to be a thug til you've proven otherwise.

if you're not keen on spending 150+ a tyre, you could just get some 2nd hand tyres.. there's a few places out near the Coburg cinema (newlands rd) or there's one at the cnr of Cooper & High st Epping.. I think 'bundoora tyres' or something. There's one on the Hume Hwy.. erm fawkner tyres (dont like them much tho). Heaps of other places just do a search. They're no more than about $50-75 each normally for that size. Look through the tyre rating thread either way for some reviews on what to get or not to get, and look for some tyres that are evenly worn, don't be afraid to have a really good look at them before you buy and ask about the tread depth. Usually costs maybe an extra $10 to swap them over and you can ask for your old tyres back (good if you plan on going to drift days etc). yeh but you won't be covered for insurance. it takes them about 30secs to test it. Depends on the situation as to whether they'll test it but just keep it in mind.

well you dont have to get it fixed, esp if you're short of time.. you can just get the quote, take the cheque and sell it off as a wreck.. but it depends on the quote/sale price etc. Sometimes you'd be better off and sometimes not, I've taken the cheque before when it wasn't worth fixing really. Any chassis damage and it would have been a writeoff, with the low price of 32's these days you might have been better off!

yep justcars should chase him up and sue him for the damages on your behalf. JCI don't offer 'choice of repairer' so I imagine they'll give you a place or a list of places you can go to for repairs. Does it look like there's any chassis damage?
