  1. this is also fairly important and nobody seems to know about it and it already applies.. From 1 January 2007, all drivers under the age of 26 are required to carry their drivers licence with them when driving or penalties will apply.
  2. its entirely likely the concentrated stuff they sell at the supermarket is just that.. I have to wonder about all this stuff tho, do you think it would ever dull the paint because effectively it doesn't get washed off.. ie the dishwashing liquid, concentrate etc etc.
  3. well we have a whole bunch of pdf manuals for r32, r33, r34, turbo timers, safc manuals, etc etc.. but I have no idea which computer the other half moved them to.. so I'll have to ask him tonight. Also have s13, s14, s15 and I do have access to them.. but you *might* end up being sued for copyright if you put them up on a website... SAU also had to remove some a while ago for the same reason... Actually if you look on torrentbox.com there are a couple there.. actually there's this 1st torrent.. no idea if its any good http://torrentbox.com/torrent_details?id=72762 or http://torrentbox.com/account-details.php?id=359190 (no r33 manual here yet tho) *oh ok apparently they are on the other server and the drives need to be swapped over and blah blah so I'll get back to you about the r33 w/shop manual
  4. do you mean here.. the bolt 11925G hrrm if you give me your VIN it will make things easier for me. Nissan usually have like maybe 40% of the bolts and seals that I need.. but it's always worth a shot.
  5. supermarkets generally sell concentrated washer fluid in their auto section... try there.. no idea what I'm using... it's in the garage/boot somewhere Its definately more soapy than windex anyway.
  6. Craig.. sure thing!! How's bubs? Michael you mean that 'intimate' foo fighter concert.... why is there no emoticon for jealous
  7. Sarah: no problem, see you there Oh and there's a voucher for Hogs Breath Cafe this year
  8. I'm going to quote James from the initial election thread... "Secretary Responsible for all club mail, notices, memberships, member enquiries, member questions and bulletins. The secretary should also track our various club affiliation agreements (insurance etc) and ensure all of the club information is up to date and correct. The secretary should also handle all memberships’ add/changes/deletes" Oh and maybe we can have the meeting minutes again Also I'm of the understanding there needs to be a commitment to attend general meetings, committee meetings and events on a regular basis. PS Thanks for the support guys

  10. Michael gets high figures like (80-200) in his RB20 if he floors it onto the freeway. Not too good I leave my car in the sun alot and it's always knocking when I start the car in summer Runs like crap in the heat... of course I think my coilpacks might be fried which doesn't help
  11. ryno insurance was even cheaper or the same price thereabouts for both the 180 and R32 and appear to have the same benefits as shannons.. eg agreed value, 14days car hire, lifetime guarantee on repairs, choice of repairer, pay by the month. Just Cars don't even have choice of repairer and only 3 yrs guarantee on repairs etc... even if Matt from Shannons can't match that $500.. if something happens you might end up having to take your car to Dodgy McShoddy to get it fixed, and not very well. We'll probably change to Ryno but not until we get the protected rating from shannons, which you get after 2? yrs with no claims. Otherwise we have to serve the same periods again. They have online quotes too. The only thing is that I don't know anyone who has made a claim through Ryno yet, so I don't know how hard that is or if they screw you around etc. Anyway hope that helps ~Kaz
  12. To clarify, it's the Craigieburn Bypass/Hume FWY which has the "Time-Over-Distance Speed Camera's".. the Hume HWY is still the north end of Sydney Rd. The Western Ring Rd only has fixed/variable speed cameras, which have all been replaced now, so if you check your speed before you get to them it's all good. There's a few speed cameras on the Hume Hwy as well, like there's a Dual Speed/Redlight Camera on cnr Barry Rd and Hume Hwy, 1min South of the Ford H/O. Also another at Sydney Rd cnr Gaffney St. Oh and btw the Time Over Distance cameras on the Craigieburn Bypass are completely obvious if you're looking for them.. slightly harder to spot at night tho... esp with the distracting, blinding neons on the bridges right next to them.
  13. would help with the licence problems too you'd think
  14. cool a BBQ AND a boat in one.... *cough* hehe only got spare 32/180 parts here might have some bbq/stereo bits tho
  15. I wouldn't continue driving that's for sure. You'll easily end up in jail. I know someone that's been in jail 3 times for unlicenced driving offences and the first time he served 3 months so take your pick.. public transport to work or a new job making number plates. No true friend would let you take responsibility for their poor decisions.
  16. The other problem with the recycled water in carwashes is that there is a high level of salt which again is no good. So... if we don't get to wash the cars for a few months, maybe we can all take a class action against the govt for not getting off their lazy arses sooner and fixing the water crisis and therefore our paintjobs = sh1t! ?
  17. stage 4 restrictions?! Exactly what will that mean? There's not much left to restrict! Can only flush toilet once a day?!
  18. yeh but they'll give you some stupid excuse about how flemington racecourse will save the world and thus needs the water, and so won't let you off when you contest the fine when some prick neighbour dobs you in!! Cant even use a bucket to clean the entire car atm.. only spot cleaning windows etc.. so the local 'Laserwash' owns my wallet
  19. doubt you'll be able to.. they're supposed to be leaving tomorrow
  20. Well Geoff and Nelly have almost finished packing up the house so by the end of the weekend they'll be out of here and no longer Mexicans! I only met Geoff because as usual, he went out of his way to help a fellow SAUer and we all became great friends after that. I don't know what to say, other than we'll really miss you guys and your little kitties and all your worldly advice and many BBQs and borrowing of cars and just, in general, being there for us and only 10mins away. Also congrats for finishing your 20yrs in the army finally! Here's hoping you end up buying a big house in QLD so we can come up there and mess up your house for a few days Hope everything goes well for you guys. Kaz
  21. we just did the tensioners etc on the 180.. damn a whole new engine to learn! So yeah probably not a huge problem unless its something that fails on a regular basis.. snapped timing belt isn't much fun when you're on the side of the freeway. But anyhoo, thats handy information, thanks WOW I can't believe how cheap Jeep Cherokees are now.. you'd hope the steering was fixed tho, alot of them were recalled due to a major defect. First thing to go would be that ugly wood grain finish!
  22. Woo Canyonero! If only they sold them here! Wagon is just way too big (long) and not something I want really. I mean if I wanted something purely for practicality/lack of caring I'd just go buy a commodore/falcon/echo like everyone else but that's really not what I want. I'm not adverse to lowering it or something Anyway I thought the Ignis of all cars would roll at every corner but no... Easier to see.. geez you forget I've been driving a 180 for the past few years.. ANY other car in the world is easier to see out of, can't even see past the car in front of me caus it's so low (at stock height atm too)
  23. Sorry I could have sworn I added that already about 10-13k.
  24. Hi guys, well I'm thinking about getting a 4WD.. honestly you have no idea how hard it is to stick an 18kg puppy in the back of a 180... I think my daughter is getting a bit sick of climbing in and out anyway.. Doesn't have to be a full-on bush beast.. girly 4wd is fine with me.. esp being a girl and all, and will probably end up another statistic.. one of many 4WDs that's never been off road So not keen to get something HUGE, would prefer if it's no longer than a 180 which is about 4500mm (178in) caus I still need to park in the city etc, besides I just don't want a big soccer-mum-4WD. So far I'm thinking a RAV4 or Grand Vitara or something similar. I grew up with a Jeep Cherokee Ltd but other than that I don't have much experience with 4WDs so I don't really know what I'm looking for. Actually I drove a 2dr Ignis around Townsville.. that was fun.. but only caus I was flogging the crap out of it everywhere we went and flying over train tracks Safe to say I'm really more of a rally driver than a track/drag person. Fold down rear seats is good caus I'll miss the space in the back of a 180.. you can fit a dbl futon in there with some tie downs!.. but I'm just so sick of being SO careful all the time, avoiding the tiniest potholes, going over speedhumps at a crawl, turbo lag, taking every driveway at an angle.. bit sick of the whole import thing I guess (tho there'll still be an r32 here to drive). I'm hoping it's going to be less maintenance, even if the maintenance/parts are not cheaper, just hopefully less frequent, correct me if I'm wrong. So anything to look out for? Any other suggestions on what to get? Just don't know where to start. Looking to spend no more than about 10-13k.. or less and make alot of mods Any advice appreciated! Cheers!! Kaz
