So, you killed it with a mechanical over-rev? Normally a rod will fail due to a extreme tension strain when this sort of thing happens, but i'm guessing since they are made from titanium, the gudgeon hole in the piston was the weakest link.

the world has become too obsessed with 0-100 times it matters five-eighths of f**k-all anyway. besides, brutal standing starts on the street will likely get your car confiscated anywhere in the country, 'cept maybe the NT. R35's have tonnes of low-end torque/response, and lightning quick in gear roll-on times. and that's what matters most

I reckon McLaren and Ferrari will probably have the most work to do in winter testing if they are to be competitive from the outset in March. But then again, they are the best because they have the best teams.

But isn't there a good possibility that the front running teams (re: McLaren, Ferrari, BMW, Toyota) wouldn't have had the time to develop all the changes for the '09 car like the teams that realised they weren't in with a chance towards the end of '08 did? I don't reckon you can say much about '09 yet...

ummm- but they've already scrapped TC (thankfully), and next year we get slicks + less aero; so that will further spice things up but what else can they do? it's not like they should go back to using manual gear selection and mechanical limos...
